  1. I don't have a problem with Luthor's plan so much as I have a problem with this version of Batman. Batman, the ultimate Code vs Killing character, deciding to kill someone who has debuted stopping an alien invasion and then spent the next 18 months flying around the world doing good deeds because "he could go bad." Then acting on the decision without having even met the man. Even Waller would meet him and have "We're watching you conversation" before trying to sanction him. Batman, the most prepared , best researcher in the history of comics, having no knowledge of any other meta-human's existence and having to steal the information from Luthor, a man who has not discovered any hero's Secret ID in 60 plus years on comics. Batman, the ultimate stealth hero, who instead of tailing the Kryptonite to the warehouse and sneaking in to steal it, initiates a running gun battle through a major city using 50-cal machine guns and missiles. Batman, the world's greatest detective, not having a clue that someone was manipulating him or figuring out Luthor's plan faster than Lois did. So yeah given this incompetent Batman, Luthor's plan has a chance to succeed but it still shouldn't. No way does one senator get Luthor access to the Kryptonian ship without jumping through a lot of hoops and a background check from Hell which would probably show him as a risk. And even if he got access, he would never be allowed in without an escort or left unsupervised at any time. This is an actual alien spaceship that crashed to Earth as part of an invasion in a major metropolitan area. the security here would be so black, light would warp near it.
  2. As Hyper-man cites, Change Environment has this as an optional effect. You can also do this as an Entangle that deteriorates rapidly. But I think the best way would be as a Presence Attack.
  3. Mazinger Z: Infinity, 50th anniversary of Go Nagai's mecha series. All the good and bad tropes of those early show but with gorgeous animation.
  4. He didn't leave Boston, they traded him for Kyrie when the opportunity presented itself.
  5. I think you're underselling pigs and chickens somewhat especially the pigs.
  6. You're not part of the superhero movie audience? I'm so confused. The cultural significance may be lost on you but that doesn't mean it's not there for others.
  7. But how do they taste? I see a large potential food source here.
  8. With respect, none of those movies were actually serious examinations of Black culture. Meteor Man and Blankman were both comedies and the others were more vehicles for their stars/action comedies than serious superhero movies. Black Panther is important to not only Black culture but also to the history of diversity in the comics industry itself. He was the first and was never an Angry Black Man(John Stewart) or a Blaxploitation character(Luke Cage) but an African prince with a scientific background. He adventured alongside the FF and Avengers as an equal from the beginning. If this movie lives up to even half the hype it will affect the Black community(my community) as profoundly as Wonder Woman did women.
  9. Yeah, this season has really stepped up. I'm loving the post-Framework Fitz . Nice again, but capable of things like this episodes pursuit denial.
  10. There's a simple solution to the Thursday night games and it has been suggested by several media writers. Just have the teams play Thursday night games after their bye weeks. That way both teams are rested and there's no unfair travel edge. The players may gripe about their bye weeks being cut short by a day or two for practice but they make it up because they get an extra two days before the next game. The franchise tag is a mixed bag. The first year favors the owners but the second year and beyond swings heavily to the players. Cousins got paid something like 24 million this year and the third year tag was 34 million. I wouldn't pay anyone but Brady, Brees and Rogers even the second tag and feel I got my money's worth and it's worth noting that no one in the league has ever gotten the third tag.
  11. It's right there on CC page 119. The chart list the reduction and has as determined by the GM in the same text.
  12. That's with the caveat of GM approval. The player doesn't decide that.
  13. Does the character have four arms? If not, then how is he using two attacks that require 1 1/2 hands? Also, unless you are using hit locations(Please don't do this in a supers setting, just don't...) then cannot use targeting doe not apply.
  14. The points on his control cost are way off. Adding the power to 4 people at once is a +3/4 advantage so his reserve should be 54 points before reductions. I agree with Netzilla that the Gestures is double-dipping. As an aside, ask your player if he intended his character to be a humorous one , because watching him fall , trip , and fail to teleport or shift every 10 or so phases will surely be a hot topic for the other players OOC and for the press in the game. This is a gentle way of reproaching him for being a munchkin.
  15. I'd just define your pool as Techno-magic as an SFX with a -1/4 disadvantage for no psychic powers, For VPPs, its more important to define what you can't do than to blanket list everything you can.
  16. I think I see where you and I disagree and I'll try to explain my viewpoint. There are powers such as Dispel or Drain or anything that does enough damage to completely break a set of power armor that can be used for this. I would nave no objection to these powers used in this way. I can even see a KA with the SFX of Teleport being applicable. I think that, short of VPP cheese, these powers will ultimately prove more expensive than a power that can perform a one shot KO so have at it. What I object to is using the Teleport mechanic as a means to remove any focus. While it is true that the focus limitation lets you buy powers at a discount, the mechanics of focus all center around how and how often a character can be deprived of that focus. The mechanics of Inaccessible say that it takes a turn out of combat to take the focus, Accessible has a lower standard but still requires an opposed roll of some sort. The Teleport mechanic does not allow for this opposed roll or a non-NND type defense. Vehicles save more points even and If you had UAA teleport and could establish LOS are fair game for the teleport mechanic So as long as you do not use Teleport as the mechanic, I see no reason not to build your power as long as there is a non-NND type defense against it. By which I mean, something like a STR vs STR or DEX vs DEX roll, not something all or nothing like the typical defenses against UAA Movement or NND's.
  17. I would. Even if bought OAF, you should still get an opposed roll like a disarm. I would not have a problem vs power armor bought as a vehicle. The focus rules give very specific ways to deprive a character of his or her focus. I don't see any game mechanic that supersedes these rules and mechanics always trump SFX in Hero.
  18. I've always thought the anti-vaxxers were just looking for something to blame besides bad genetic luck for autism. The raw water people are just stupid.
  19. Anything less than a gas giant planet or a star will be mostly wiped by a multi-ton object hitting it at even a tenth of the speed of light. The Deathstar would be melted debris with trace organic element mixed in. The velocity of the projectile is just too high.
  20. I would go with Shapeshift rather than Multiform unless each host body is going to have wildly differing Characteristics. No need for Desolid, just make the Shapeshift require a helpless victim or dead body.
  21. As an Alabama voter, I am happy to see Jones win. The vote broke mostly on urban/rural lines with the larger urban counties carrying Jones. A large minority turnout was also a factor but the biggest thing was the allegations against Moore. http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/page/2017_alabama_us_senate_election_results.html#incart_election
  22. He might have been bright but the lighting didn't show it. Like the DECU, that movie also happened in a world without sunshine.
  23. The problem isn't the animated DC productions. They've consistently put out quality product even in some the edgier movies. Even Teen Titans Go! is truer to the spirit of the source material than most of the DCEU. If they let that creative staff have control of the movie stories they might have a chance to turn this ship around.
  24. Building an abusive power has always been possible. Using the possibility of one abusive power as the justification for building another is ... a questionable argument. If your GM allows this power, they'll allow any power. Let the VPP wars begin.
