  1. Re: The Last Word Heh. Someday I'll get back to Europe. Not soon, though. Our first big trip as a family in a long time will be to Florida in December.
  2. Re: Paralysis Ray: Would you allow this? I might allow the power as written, but the character who had it would find himself hounded by an army of automatons against which the power would be worthless.
  3. Re: The Last Word I see the merits in that idea, but that'd require more bookshelf space than I have at the moment.
  4. Re: Answers & Questions Q: So when the quartermasters delivered the rations to the Orc army, the Orcs thought they were part of the shipment and ate them?!? A: Spider guts doesn't seem like a syrup flavor that'd catch on very big.
  5. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat oops, sorry... NT: Things that really ought not be sold at an espresso shop.
  6. Re: The Last Word Certainly true. They weren't fixed last week because one of the six was still under two pounds, which is the shelter's limit for the procedure. This week they're just booked up.
  7. Re: The Last Word The shelter's vet is booked up for the week, so the kittens get fixed next Monday.
  8. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Professor Shapley, Miss Leavitt and the Variables of the Magellanic Clouds: Romantic comedy science documentary
  9. Re: Pulp Hero Resources I had to look it up ... I didn't know that bit of slang.
  10. Re: The Last Word Not sure it mattered much to USPS. Postcards are pretty minimal.
  11. Re: Strange Hero Concepts: Discuss Your Own! Fulminus was a warped villain (He didn't think he was evil, but he'd been, shall we say, exposed to way too many explosions) who could make inanimate objects explode (bought as an RKA, limited to nonliving matter, with an explosive effect equal to the Body of the object but happened only if the object was reduced to zero Body by the RKA). His main shtick was robbery, where he'd do stuff like make cops' guns explode in their hands, and explode the tires of the vehicles chasing after him. Once he put a toilet seat around a hostage's neck....
  12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... On a character sheet of an orangutan, given human intelligence and some other stuff: Language: Orang-utan 1 Notes: Yes, I know you get 4 points in your native language for free. But in orang-utan you're doing real well to get basic conversation at all....
  13. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Josie and the Pussycats on a Hot Tin Roof EDIT: BTW, this and the post above it are adapted from plays by Tennessee Tuxedo Williams.
  14. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Sesame Streetcar Named Desire
  15. Re: The Last Word Heh. I once did a campaign of humorous post-card sending to a friend who needed the (im)moral support, one a day, six days a week. Went on for three or four months, IIRC. I had an excellent local source for silly post-cards, though.
  16. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER 200 runs in about 32 hours. And, it seems, no crashes. The latter is more significant.
  17. Re: Your Superhero Identity for Today Yes. I took the test and my Nemesis came out to be Eric the Black. Multiple pseudonyms, obviously. But never fear: my Antimatter Plunger will carry the day for us!
  18. Re: Musings on Random Musings "Who is Mr. Gruberman, and why did he suddenly run screaming out of the building?"
  19. Re: The Last Word Sounds like your building is under-engineered. Or, perhaps, was built before certain building codes were changed.
  20. Re: The Last Word At times, yes.
  21. Re: The cranky thread One of the walls of my office is shared with a file-storage room. They have moved the files out and are now removing the file lockers. This causes large crashes at irregular intervals.
  22. Re: The Last Word Heh. At one workplace, where there was only one set of restrooms for the entire floor, we dubbed the green-carpeted aisle between our workgroup's area and those restrooms "The Green Mile".
  23. Re: South American Supervillains You need a female brick from Cuba named Mojito ... sweet, cool, and packs a hell of a punch.
