  1. Re: I need help with a Talent? Perk? Skill? It does sound like Mind Control, or an extremely high rep. Like it has been suggested before...Oratory, Persuassion and you can even throw in Seduction (agreeing with this guy makes you popular because he's HIM.....that is a form of seduction).
  2. Re: about bricks and possibly super powers in general Big and Brawny....to me that's a Brick. Granite is just that...he's made of Granite....yeah he got it from an experimental steroid of liquid stone.....then there's Large Marge....a mutant who works as a Super Model and can grow to Amazonian size and strength. Anger was the same way. She was a "villan" of sorts who grew out of the stress of a meek and mousy "librarian type" who if under duress of any kind when she went to sleep or was somehow knocked unconcious, Anger would take over and go on a trashing spree......
  3. Re: Another question about SPD in general
  4. Re: Stats for barbed wire I'd say build it as an entangle with a low DCV, say 3.....it's as easy to hit as a hex basically....find out the body of a piece of wire......maybe say 5 Body.....not having my book in front of me, I believe there is a "does damage" Advantage, make it do 1-2 pips of damage and give it "Autofire" to simulate multiple barbs per foot of wire (I believe there's about 3-4 barbs per foot of wire....). That's how I'd do it.
  5. Re: Need Suggestions: Updated Zodiac Alliance PDF Attached Wow!!! Is this your own version of Zodiac? I was thinking this was the old 4th Ed Zodiac.......pretty cool version though.
  6. Re: Speedster move throu/by Bloodstone has the right of it. I built Siphon my STR draining speedster with autofire punch and he used multiple move bys alot with the autofire. Basically run around a Brick smacking him from all sides and draining strength with each hit. Took a big bad Brick down to 30 str with one attack once. Those were good rolls.
  7. Re: Desolidiification UAA Bury in Solid Matter Von D has the right of it. My DESO character Ghost has Usable as an Attack and Usable Against Others. She will only use the more deadlier of her abilities against Genocide. Limitation is she still has to make an attack roll to grab an opponent to make them desolid. As far as determining damage....just call it instant death. I mean if someone were to solidify a stop sign in your body, you'd pretty much be dead.
  8. Re: Teaser Scenes - Anyone try this? We used to have someone volunteer to write and Adventure Log and post it up on our campaign website. You were usually awarded 1 xp for writing the log. This way we knew exactly where we left off last time.
  9. Re: More books on Master Villains Menton....I always liked siccing him on players......also more on Spectrum (Challenges for Champions 2 I believe.....)
  10. Re: Help this person yes the sun in the sky would be impressive.....think of the first humans billons of years ago when they saw the sun for the first time......it was very impressive....so much so that some cultures worship it. Cats and Dogs are impressed by things that we humans take for granted. C'mon....a Cat goes apeshit over a laser pointer!!!! A Dog goes bananas when you throw a tennis ball Didn't say they worshipped the sky....RIF.....didn't say Cats and Dogs were stupid......what's with all the grief........trying to give Nexus and example and I get jumped by members of PETA for suggesting dogs and cats aren't as smart as humans..... Lighten up Francis....
  11. Re: Help this person That's not what I said......and why turn this into a debate on the intelligence of animals....I've met some really stupid people and some really smart animals in my time so it's really a non issue. The point of the comment is in context of the game. If a character of 10 INT (normal human intelligence, ie the average Joe/Jane walking down the street) was to suddenly have their cognitive abilities changed from what they normally are to the equivalent of an animal.....yes the sun in the sky would be impressive.....think of the first humans billons of years ago when they saw the sun for the first time......it was very impressive....so much so that some cultures worship it. Cats and Dogs are impressed by things that we humans take for granted. C'mon....a Cat goes apeshit over a laser pointer!!!! A Dog goes bananas when you throw a tennis ball.
  12. Re: Help this person I played a Goblin with 5 intelligence and 18 strength....Think Lenny from Of Mice and Men.....when the one Goblin with the 18 INT (the Genius Goblin) was telling me to be stealthy so we could surprise the Orcs I had to make a roll to see how much of his instructions I understood......the Character was good at digging tunnels and if no one told him to stop he would just keep digging. I rolled and the roll came up that I only remembered one of the commands...Surprise. It was explained to me that surprise was shouting "boo....thats surprise". Made another roll....all I remembered was "Boo..Surprise"......the party wasn't real stealthy after that with a big Goblin running around yelling "boo surprise". At 2 INT the leader of this group would have to constantly make a roll to see if he remembered what the heck he was doing there.....then remember what the thing in his hand was (lazer I believe is mentioned), etc etc.....he'd really be useless and could only focus on one thing at a time. Assuming normal INT, 10, the loss of 8 points of INT would be very disorienting...think about if you went from your INT level to that of a Dog or Cat.........you'd be impressed by sunlight at that point and completely distracted.
  13. Re: WWIYCL? Living Among Giants "Granite???? Oh wasn't he that bodybuilder that turned to stone on National TV years ago???? You mean he can move now????
  14. Re: Gun and Armor Critique. I think just a basic entangle would work. Is it plasma bands that shoot out and wrap around the target? If so, then you wouldn't need to keep pumping energy into them...they just are until broken IIRC....someone please correct me if that's wrong. I think you could buy the armor with an activation roll.....covering the body and starting as a wristband are just special effects really. It's like a force field belt. It's a belt...you push a button (activation roll) and voila....a force field.
  15. Re: Shadowrun type game The CyberHero supplement should give you plenty of ideas......did they revise one for 5th ed?
  16. Re: Actor Package Deals [quote=Ocelot;1560447 Christopher Walken Mind Control, Extra Time (5 min), Incantations (Layer-riddled Monologue) Ocelot you forgot: Psych Lim: Thinks all music needs more cowbell.
  17. Re: Actor Package Deals Perk: Celebrity Oratory Mimic Acting PS: Actor KS: Acting KS: Stunt Falls KS: Stage Combat KS: Martial Arts Lots of Int and Pre based skills Of course for Arnold you have to add PS: Politician PS: Governator KS: Politics
  18. Re: Utility Belt I have a "Batmanesque" character that has a utility belt and he has a re-breather on it (like the ones that Batman often uses for breathing underwater).
  19. Re: Post Your Character Here!!!! Granite's History.... Liam “Lucky” Malone was anything but. It was one of those true “nickmanes” like calling a big guy Tiny. Liam grew up big a strong and used his natural strength and love of weightlifting to catapult him to a career as a professional Body Builder. He was Mr. Natural for the longest time, but then everybody started doing ‘roids and he inevitably followed suit. He got a job at Gold’s Gym, working out and being a physical trainer to others. His wry smile and Irish Brogue left him with no end of female company. All the Body Builders at the gym knew their RX…..they called him Doc. He brought them their ‘roids and kept them happy. Lucky was at the pinnacle of his career; he was a shoo in for Mr. Universe. The ‘roids and weights weren’t enough…..they Body Building federations were getting smarter, someone actually watched you give your Urine sample….they caught on to the ol piss switcheroo. Liam needed an edge…..and Doc had it. He had been messing with some compounds and came up with a grand idea…….liquid mass…..trace elements of liquefied stone mixed with natural strength enhancers……but it hadn’t been tested yet. Liam didn’t care…..so Doc injected him and it seemed to work. That is seemed to work until that moment on stage during the competition where Liam began his posing routine and turned to solid stone!!!!! It was if someone had erected a statue of him right on the spot. It took several stage hands to finally get Liam off the stage. There was no pulse, no breath………he had become a statue. Liam woke to find himself backstage, alone and covered in webs. He opened his eyes and caught his reflection in a mirrored stage piece. He could move, talk, see hear….but didn’t need to breathe….he also discovered he didn’t need to sleep or eat either. He had become a living hunk of granite. When he spoke his Irish Brogue was gone, replaced by a gravely deep voice that sounded like mountains grinding together. When he flexed it was the same thing. He had turned completely into a human shaped, mobile hunk of stone. His mother’s warnings of reaping what you have sown came back to him. He must find Doc and make him reverse this so that he can atone for his shameful ways. Doc had fled and no one knew where he was. He went to the local College where a Geology Professor examined him and determined he was composed of Granite….so that’s what he called himself. He remembered the comics he read as a kid and thought of the Hulk. He felt like the big green guy right now and was determined to show the Fates that he was ready for the punishment to end. So he became a “righter of wrongs” in the hopes that all of his good deeds would somehow pay back all of the bad Karma and help him find a way to become normal again.
  20. Re: entangle as brick trick This is what I use for my Bricks as an entangle attack (please feel free to use it yourself if you so wish) Entangle: 5d6 5 Def AE:Cone 6" Only when ground struck, no range, does knockback Transform 5d6 Limited target(ground), Linked to Ent., When ground struck, no range "Tremor Attack" The transform special effect is ground to rubble.....the entangle is the rubble. This particular character usually punches the ground to do this. Then again he's made entirely of Granite (his Name) so it makes sense.
  21. Re: DCV of Stationary Object 3 is the standard for stationary objects. A brick wall is a 3...a mailbox a 3......if it fits in a hex and doesn't move it's a 3.
  22. Re: 8pt CSL The way we used to use it....3 pt CSL's were for a group of 3 manuevers.....we used to take it for Strike, Block and Dodge....of course this was for a Heroic (Fantasy Hero and Star Hero) campaign. 8 pt CSL's because of the price were to be used for any manuever you wanted.
  23. Re: What is it called? I agree...it's whatever you want to call it. Extra Time is a modifier that you can use for the special effect "I examine the bomb carefully before I snip any wires" as opposed to "I snip the green wire...it's always the green wire" which is where your penalty would come into play. I would apply it to things like "we fire a few shots down the hallway to keep their heads down so we can get away..." You're not really aiming per se...just pointing the gun in a direction and pulling the trigger......you might get lucky and hit something....
