  1. The current prices are (dollar equivalent per ounce) Gold:$1352.75 Patinum:$1157.95 Silver: $20.25 Copper: $2.17 So as you can see, there's a huge difference between gold and silver. The difference between copper and silver is almost exactly x10. So what I do is have the kingdoms mint their coins in such a way that the weight/size of the coin hits the proper ratio of 100 copper to 1 silver, 100 silver to 1 gold etc. Thus copper coins are often copper coated, not full copper. Silver coins are a full ounce and gold coins half an ounce.
  2. I like the LTE idea for spellcasting, but I feel it is a bit too draconian, not allowing casters very many spells per day. Of course, if you are goinv for a D&D feel where casters are extremely limited in the outset of their careers, it works well for that. But in D&D they eventually gain the ability to cast a couple of dozen spells per day. What is the limit of personl End that you allow mages to posess (I allow up to 50 essence as a normal characteristic maximum and 100 as an absolute maximum at x2 the cost or 1cp per +1 Essence) Using the Contact perk to be able to "pray" to a deity for a boon or to make a pact with dark powers works great, but I would council against allowing more than 11 or less at the start of the campaign and I would only allow it at specific holy sites for said deity and quite obviously only 1 patron deity per character, even if they worship an entire pantheon. Its easy enough to regulate the boons. The deity can use any power it possesses on behalf of the praying character when appropriate and since the diety is an NPC character, you the GM controls what the deity does. Unless the request is urgent and sincere, I would have the deity slap the character with a geas they have to fulfill to gain access to the deity once again (maybe even decrease spellcasting ability to ensure the player doesnt try to casually abuse the concept, thus you can have a game where the gods take an active role in the world, but players arent constantly relying on them because the gods favor those who are self sufficient)
  3. Somehow, I knew this movie was going to be a trainwreck. But for some reason, I still kinda want to see it. That Grace Randolph review was scathing, and keep in mind, she LIKED Batman v Superman.... Ouch.
  4. Almost done. In watching this, I realize that I miss this genre of film. Man the 80s were a great time for low budget weird horror films with a lot of heart and imagination. Stuff like Scanners and Firestarter. I want more stuff like this.
  5. #2 is doable if you frame it that immigration from specific countries where terrorism activity is currently hot is suspended. We have a list of countries associated with terrorism where immigration from those countries is currently heavily scrutinized. Just go off that list on a case by case basis.
  6. He didnt direct Rise of an Empire though and the movie suffers for it. At least Sucker Punch is a visual feast even if the story is a mess. If you've seen the latest WW trailer, its looking very solid.
  7. They were going to kill him to gain his power. She did it to prevent that and got his "quickening" so to speak.
  8. She finally defeated Ares and as a result, had to take the office or else the position would go unfilled. This resulted in the power of being Goddess of War making her more war-like.
  9. I assume that silver is the monetary standard, with more precious metals for the big spenders. Most common items cost copper. More expensive items such as weaponry, armor etc, cost silver. 100 copper equals 1 silver. 100 silver equals 1 gold. 100 gold equals 1 mithril. I usually start characters out with 1000 silver with which to outtfit themselves. I'm talking everything. Weapons. Armor. Mount. Home. The whole enchilada. This starting amount increases if the character has levels of wealth. Of course in order to buy higher than 5pts of wealth a character needs the appropriate perk and background to have access to noble or royal levels of wealth. Then I use the price lists in the Shadow World/rolemaster suplements. They work pretty well for my purposes.
  10. I know. I keep going back because when its good, its GREAT but then he will give me a Bat v Supes. But I cant help it. I always go back. I keep hoping for another 300 or Dawn of the Dead...
  11. I found her quite interesting in the comics lately where she was trying to balance her duties as Queen of Themiscyra, as Goddess of War and as a found member of the League. And she was failing with a coup de tate brewing on Paradise Island, with warfare going out of control without her direct guidance, with a growing rift between herself and batman over Wonder Womans violent methods and with the psychic energy of becoming a War Goddess effecting her psyche and making her more violent and bloodthirsty in battle. There was a lot of craziness going on in her solo comic. I'm not sure how it has changed since the reboot though.
  12. Its Wonder Woman. How is she not interesting?
  13. I didnt like the trailer. For one, while The White Stripes is a good band, that song was not a good fit for the trailer. It seemed to me they were trying to give this trailer a similar feel to the Suicide Squad trailers, but that is a completely different feeling movie. It works with suicide squad, but not with Justice League. Secondly, they got it all wrong. There is no way thay Bruce Wayne would go recruit the other supers. Batman would recruit them. And he would test them first. Batman would never in a million years reveal his identity to them until he trusted them implicitly. The entire trailer is completely out of character for Batman. I certainly hope the movie isnt full of rookie mistakes like this. I WANT to like this movie. Please dont dissapoint me Zack.
  14. I didnt like the Justice League trailer much (for reasons) but the WW trailer was freakin phenomenal. Thats how you do a trailer. I was already hyped to see Wonder Woman, but now my hype is over 9000!
  15. Cheaper than the 4th edition version? It was its own advantage and was only +1/2.
  16. If the Combat Skill Levels have been bought persistant they can apply while stunned. But I would consider that a Stop sign power.
  17. I'm a tinfoil hatter and this show is based on one of the most tinfoil of the conspiracies. http://www.crystalinks.com/montauk.html In fact, the show was originally supposed to be named "Montauk". No idea why the name changed. I'm about 5 episodes in. Love it so far. Its got a good creep factor to it.
  18. Triggered Desolid with the Invulerability SFX. Should last long for the character to make their way out of the situation that is causing the problem.
  19. I much prefer Damage Shield as its own Advantage, not tied to Area of Effect at all. It makes Damage Shield builds unnecessarily cost prohibitive.
  20. A stepping stone to the wormhole? http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/sunearth/news/mag-portals.html Could these be used to propel vessels through space at hyper velocities between massive bodies in space?
  21. Just make sure you have an upper limit for Mental Defense so people cannot become invulnerable. You might also want to include Mental Defense as a secondary chararacteristic for EGO. As mentioned before, Mental Damage Reduction is an excellent alternate defense. When it comes to AVLD and NND mental attacks, Power defense makes a good alternate. Some BOECV powers should still target physical and energy defense even if the attack is targeted via OECV. Pyrokinesis Cryokinesis and Psycho/Telekinesis are examples of such a power. And lets not forget Drains, Suppress, Transfers and Damage Shield. Those are always good for giving an opponent a surprise. Also an absolutely excellent defense from all mental powers except Ego Blast is Aid to Ego. Make the Ego higher and more powerful mental effects are taken off the table almost completely
  22. In general, a player would have to declare which Martial Art she is using that phase. These can be changed from phase to phase. If the character begins to formulate a mixed style, I would recommend cashing in the old 3pt combat skill levels and converting them over to Hand to Hand skill levels applicable no matter which Martial Art they use which represents their ability to mix moves freely.
  23. Yeah. Its a little convoluted but it works. Recovery costs are 2/1, so 5 Rec is 10 active points. So if you place Cost Endurance limitation, then times 5 End limitation, that will be a 1/1 endurance Transfer using the recovery stat of the endurance reserve.
