  1. You all forgot Captain Australia. He/She was a blatant Superman/girl clone. Just not quite as powerful(or silly powers wise) as Viperia. John Spencer
  2. I am personally quite lucky with dice. My dice only tend to go south when it doesn't really matter. But a friend of mine had horrible luck. We were playing MSH and during character creation he made the biggest piece of poo ever. Finally I asked him if he wanted to use a premade character. He decided to use longshot so his tens die was always the high one. Our first session he had no roll over 66. Next session he came in with a little toy clapper thing, and brand new dice he had never touched. This did the trick, he managed to roll average. John Spencer
  3. Thanks for the link Ben. It's quite interesting. I spent 15 minutes just looking at the various zoom maps. John Spencer
  4. My number one rule: When villians go out, let them stay out! I used to waste a lot of time giving downed villians recoveries, and having them get back up. If you use a board and miniatures, either take the mini off the board or turn it face down when the are out. This saves you time of PCs worrying about unconsious villians. John Spencer
  5. Just to clear things up. In my campaign PRIMUS has started accepting minor superhumans and letting them rise to just under Silver Avenger. The assault team leader in question is a mutant with minorly superhuman stats and a minor(and tiring) teleportational ability. John Spencer
  6. My favorite for Mechanon. After someone hits him for little or no damage: "I have analyzed you, you are not a threat." PCs love that one. John Spencer
  7. Instead of anything like the Bronze Avenger you are describing. I just make the leaders of the assault teams and iron guard teams meaner and tougher than the regular agents. ShelleyCM: Can't wait for more PRIMUS(one of the best supplements I've ever read). John Spencer
  8. Oh yeah, I give out plenty of free GM plot devices. My last group got free Force Field belts made by the old man they rescued. Little did they know he actually a villian, who only had temporary amnesia, and as soon as it wore off they were in for a world of hurt, as they had come to rely on the belts and of course they wouldn't work against him. John Spencer
  9. Notes The CSLs are obviously with his ice powers. The penalty levels are vs range penalty. I'm trying to keep DEX lower, so don't suggest he raise it. I may have him go to 20(the party average), but it is his decision to keep it that low. Again, Thanks! John Spencer
  10. One of my PCs is creating an Ice character, so I figured I'd post his rough draft up here so you all could do my work...umm... I mean help him out. Thanks. 11. The figs are cool. But the vehicals are a bit pricy at 60 bucks each. Oh well, not like i'd buy the vehicals anyways. John Spencer
  12. You can't abort if you've had an action in the current phase. He has to hold his action or he can't dive for cover. John Spencer
  13. Mine are about 75-100 points, but I don't count the weapons. The weapons usually add about 50-75 more points. They average about an 8d6 attack and 10-14 DEF if the armor activates. John Spencer
  14. Oh, we're all friends. Heck 4 of us work together. If you put them together then, all the hostility comes out. They actually proved they can work as a team, I gave them PRIMUS agents to run in addition to their normal characters and the PRIMUS agents were teamworking up and down the street. The superheroes were still just fighting single battles, except Spidey. On topic, how do you subtly convince someone that their comcept is too powergamey for your game? The new characters currently have an average DEX of 21 and speed 5. One guy wants to make a brick and is immediatly talking about DEX 26+ and SPD 6. I want to subtly discourage him, and I'm about as sublte as a lead pipe to the forehead(heeey...that's not a bad Idea! ) John Spencer
  15. Too much work. We play every other week and I still find it hard to find the time to make and tweak enough villians to keep it fresh. It also means I can't run any organization involving agents because they mop the floor with them. The group(of 7 players) have four members with AOE attacks. Another is a mentalist who will drop one mook a phase(more or less). Another usually has 14+ DCV and can two hit a mook. The last WANTS them to shoot him so he can absorb the energy into his endurance reserve. No, we are starting a new campaign. Three people have characters partially done and the current average DEX is 21. I am much happier with the characters this time around. John Spencer
  16. I need you to come over and teach my group something. They don't work as a team. There opinoins of the other characters are...low. They think it is funny when some gets punked around. And they all try to out do everyone else(more or less). Their DEX war started when the Maritlal Artist was slower than the Mage. The mage left and a mentalist and a combat monster showed up. Neither were faster than him, but both were as fast as him, so immediatly he starts buying DEX and Speed. The Brick, tired of being the slowest, bought dex and speed. Slowly everyone has been creeping up the DEX/SPD ladder until we get the group with an average DEX of 28 and an average SPD of 6. It is darn near impossible to use premade anything against them. They punked Mechanon in 2 turns. He just couldn't touch them without spreading so much he didn't do enough damage to stun anyone. So after tonights climactic battle, we are retiring the camgaign and starting a new one where everyone tells me a concept and we decide how to make it. This way we have no DEX war. John Spencer
  17. Politeness won't let me respond properly. I only respond to the part of your post I disagreed with and that was it. I don't care about what DEX cap has. I think that A)using him all the time is hurting this discussion. B)You should build characters according to concept and efficiency be secondary. And C)You should learn some manners. John Spencer
  18. That is crap. This is a roleplaying game, NOT A COMBAT GAME! Concept is king, if you believe other wise, find a darn minis game and play that. I agree that you MIGHT need to find a middle ground between concept and combat, but no one should ever say, "I bought more DEX because CSLs are inefficeint." Taking a points hit is part of concept. Question: Why should anyone buy damage classes for their martial arts? STR is just cheaper. Answer: Because the character isn't that freaking strong. I would like to see you guys get away from the Cap example and try some generalities. I think always using Cap as an example is hurting everyones argument. John Spencer
  19. Rent an anime series called EX Driver(I think) it's background would be just like Millenium City. John Spencer
  20. I think they are a little low, not quite 5 points, about 2 or 3 maybe. Some one like defender should have 23-24 DEF, Ironclad should have 28-30, and witchcraft should have 20.(Just to use the champions as examples.) John Spencer
  21. "When ya gotta go, ya gotta go. So, lets get goin'." or "Good, Bad, I'm the guy with the gun." John Spencer
  22. I have some Demons for my PCs to fight that have an aura of unearthly "beauty" about them, that tends to make mortals stand in awe. I've currently built it as a mind control, but it works kinda "clunky". Ex:On the Demons action, roll effect; on the PCs action(possibly), roll to breakout. How would everyone else build this?? John Spencer
  23. Looks good, A very interesting read. Almost seems plausable. John Spencer
  24. Playing D&D, we just killed the annoying 6 month recurring thief who had laid my character(a half orc fighter) out for 3 sessions straight. GM: "Tarm you wake up to see the corpse of your enemy." Me: " I grab his body, grab my axe and drag it into the woods." War Cleric:(In think irish accent) "What are ye doing." Me: "I'm going to hack him to peices." War Cleric: "Ye can't do that." Me: (Blank Stare) War Cleric: Ye have to urinate on him first! John Spencer
  25. Any villian with a 4d6+1 AP HKA and a massive OCV of 18 scares the poopie out of me. Do your PC's really deserve this? I mean he even has decent defenses. He seems entirely like overkill(emphasis on the KILL). He would probably slice my party into mincemeat. John Spencer
