  1. Please do! The more content for Hero there is, the better for the hobby, for Hero Games, and for us as fans. The more stuff that game shops etc see from Hero, the more likely they are to order, stock, and promote.
  2. Yeah, part of the problem is that a single monolithic, zealous worldview and political mindset is also taking over, and one that is not just agreed upon, but being strongly enforced. Its one thing to have a few companies running everything. Its another to have that, and those companies are willing to use that leverage and position to punish and block people they disagree with politically (and religiously).
  3. Anti Trust laws and judgements in congress would NEVER allow any other industry to coalesce around so few megacorps controlling all entertainment, but they do not seem to care about this sector of the economy at all.
  4. I figure someone like Legolas (thousands of years old) is a very experienced, very skilled, very trained character with lots of xps spent. It just comes down to what kind of game you want; a starting group of young people? A grizzled bunch of veteran experts? An elite team of the very best in the world?
  5. Who thought Twilight dude would be an ideal batman I can only guess about but the entire thing feels like a train wreck that's too far along for WB to back out on.
  6. He looks like an early take on Green Dragon, but as the video about the history of Champions notes, Williams would draw all sorts of characters because he thought they looked cool, and they didn't represent anyone. Like the great looking armored guy on page 10. Or the two fighting on the cover, for that matter.
  7. The studios will eventually lose, its sad how pathetically grasping and greedy they are
  8. Sure, but how do i simulate a spell that summons an item that I had off, that's an OAF weapon? All those modifiers with gestures and everything you do to cast the spell then are passed on to the person you hand the weapon: every time they want to swing it, they have to do all that stuff. If you buy it constant, it just does the damage perpetually once you attack. You can't use a power like Object Creation (specifically states in the rules you cannot). Buying a transformation attack to make a weapon you give away just feels really wrong.
  9. OK please bear with me here. I've been playing Hero since 1982 and have written for Hero Games for a long time (My first work was a set of spells for the 4th edition Fantasy Hero Companion). Forever something has confused and bothered me and I have never worked it out. What is the difference between a blast that uses a focus... and a focus that uses a blast? What I mean is this: you can build an ability Blast, OAF, and it creates a blast that you can only use if you have an OAF. But you can also build it as a gun, an OAF that anyone can pick up and use as a blast. There are two aspects to this. First is the "only I can use this" concept vs univeral foci, which is explained in the rules. That's not what I'm talking about here. What I am talking about here is, say, someone who can do a blast, but only if they are holding their special focus. Like a wizard who has to have a staff, or an alien that can do an electrical blast, but they have to have a piece of wood to use as a focus. Then there are just foci that people can use to blast with, like a ray gun. And, to complicate matters, there is the idea of a character that can hand out items that do something, like a magic wand or a totem. They create the focus, give it to someone, and that person can use it. ALL OF THESE ARE BUILT THE SAME. But they all have different specific characteristics, advantages, and drawbacks which affect how they act.
  10. It has to, inevitably, its just a question of how much. Black Widow didn't do boffo streaming either, so its hard to know how much that impacted box office, but I am of the opinion that the days of packed theaters and lines are over.
  11. Yeah I noticed the same thing, but I just use HD to build, not give exact results. The HD math can make powers cost zero points with enough limitations and that's not kosher either. A base power can got into negative cost with limitations on it, which is just... bizarre. Use Differing Modifiers with only limitations on it, see what happens.
  12. I love the basic idea but Hollywood doesn't quite seem to grasp it
  13. Has anyone seen Suicide Squad reboot yet? I hear its better than the last one but that's not exactly great praise
  14. OK listened to the episode. I do remember Loki appearing as a woman in various times in the comics, but never as Loki (that is, he would pretend to be a woman at times) which is how he behaved in the mythology. Loki never showed up in Asgard as a Girl Loki but he'd use shapeshifting and illusion to sometimes be a woman to fool someone (usually Thor).
  15. Englehart's wild cosmic stuff was some of the best comic book work in the 70s
  16. OK all the villains are colored in, I've uploaded the latest version of the villain and character books to the Champions Begins rough draft. All I need to do now is work up the VIPER suit. The current incarnation looks a bit too much like very slightly modified COBRA outfits, and I think that strays a bit from the original concept. From supervillain team to high tech action adventure bad guys. I ran down some old VIPER costumes and previous incarnations in this thread, and most people seem to like a blend between 4th and 5th, and I want to come up with something really iconic and new looking that gives the feel of the original costume. I got excessively detailed with the Dr Destroyer agents in that module, it would drive a comic book artist bonkers trying to draw 22 pages of these guys.
  17. Oh sure, its not uniquely terrible, its just not something worth getting worked up over the story being betrayed or something.
  18. Its tough for me to get worked up about He-Man because it sucked so bad. You can't really butcher something that crappy and hamfisted to begin with, its not like we're talking about a beloved classic here.
  19. Its an ongoing sort-of-joke among authors that our search engine would get us put in prison. Ways to kill people, deep dives into Nazi history, information on building deadly things, etc. It looks like a serial killer's computer.
  20. I wish I could get the copy of what I use uploaded but it won't let me. I think I have uploaded too many images and files on here
  21. I lost my copy of Heromaker but I have Creation Workshop and it was easier to use, anyway. The old combat program GSPC works in a Dos window as well.
  22. Plus the not-so-subtle Grrl power "you're a terrible person and bigot if you don't watch this movie" woke marketing that worked so well with Black Panther. Both to shame people into going to see them and to get zealots to claim they were the best thing ever.
  23. Yeah, but as people say, the actors really want to take their mask off to show off their face (look at meee!!) and while a good actor with real skill can pull it off (V for Vendetta) its hard to emote and act with your face (and especially your eyes) covered. And not a single person alive was excited to hear about another Batman movie being made at the time. It was only when word came out how good it was that people wanted to see the movie.
  24. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here, but repeating exactly what I said but putting "Batman" in, is mostly true as well. Except for the part where Batman's costume doesn't cover his whole body so you can see the actor playing the part. There's no huge buzz out there about wanting to see the next Batman film, partly because 'here we go again, who is this again??' That hurts sales and loyalty. I guess you can argue that Captain Marvel would have done as big sales if it wasn't between the big Avenger films, but I can't see any logic or industry reality to that. Even the most positive reviews by viewers were pretty tepid about the film and the star. The concept of tentpoles is very valid in movie production as well, although rarely seen as clearly as the MCU. Don't expect any more billion dollar releases, and don't expect Captain Marvel 2 to do huge box office, is all I'm saying.
