Being stunned happens in the source material, cinematic, comic books, and prose.

If you find mental powers "all or nothing" effect, then either your mental villains are too powerful (Menton) or your heroes don't have any reasonable defenses against them. Or vice versa.

Presence Attacks happen in the source material.

Yeah when I see this kind of complaint, my response is "find a way to make INT work better" not "mess everything else up"

Oh there's other good stuff, like the restructure of transform and area effect. 6th has a lot of good ideas to go with some mistakes.

Except every other primary stat loses some effect by doing this. And INT doesn't gain anything.
Every point of STR increases your lifting capability by 15% cumulative.
Every point of DEX improves your chances of going first. Indeed, this was determined to be so useful that the cost of DEX is 2CP per point.
Every point of CON decreases your chances of being stunned, which is determined per pip of STUN damage you take from attacks.
Every point of EGO decreases your chances of being affected by powers like Mental Illusions, Mind Control, and Telepathy, which is determined per pip of effect rolled by those powers.
Every point of PRE decreases your chances of being affected by Presence Attacks, which is determined per pip of effect rolled when a PRE Attack is made.

INT is the only primary stat that doesn't gain anything per point.

Removing the granularity from the other primary stats won't improve INT's game effects one bit, but every other stat would be screwed.

Cauliflower pairs very well with cheese, my mom used to roast a whole head then serve it with melted cheese over the thing, man that was good.  I don't like people pulling the switcheroo on people "try it, its like pasta!"  Its better to get people to be surprised with how great something they thought they hated can be.

Of course they were going to spin it. I mean how much day to day does Iger put in the MCU? That's why he has Feige. If the MCU tanked, Feige would be out of there just like Perlmutter

I would argue that Fourth Edition was a sweeping change to Hero System, consolidating elements from its diverse genre-specific predecessor games, and changing and adding to many of their mechanics to attempt to be truly universal. Fifth was essentially a refinement and clarification of Fourth. Sixth altered more things, but is still the same game in most ways.

There's no denying that Perlmutter and Loeb are both sub-par hacks as producers go, but the tweet from MCU Direct makes it all about how they put up roadblocks to Black Panther and Capt. Marvel, painting Iger as the woke hero of Marvel's diversity push. The fact that it was a tweet could be partly responsible for that (not much room to elaborate), but I think they put the focus exactly where they wanted regardless.

One of the bits in the Dearthwood is minidungeons, small single-level underground areas and ruins to explore with a theme.  Like the bee hive or lairs for bandits and cultists.  I've done up a bunch of them, including some for the GM to just drop in wherever they want one for the PCs to discover.

Somehow I doubt anyone is going to be in a rush to pat Iger on the back for being more "woke" than Perlmutter, except maybe Iger himself (and whatever team of suckups he's surrounded himself with over at Disney).

A quality, solid remake of Journey to the Center of the Earth that treats it as science rather than a goof would be good.  Updating some of the science and making it more plausible to modern viewers would be solid.
Flash Gordon should be re done, it could be a pretty fun rockets and rayguns retro sci fi adventure
Sum of All Fears was such a dreadful disaster, redoing that closer to the book would be nice
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen done as a serious, mature, thoughtful movie rather than an adventure romp would be good.

If I had the Bond franchise, I'd reboot the entire series, setting it as retro stuff in the 60s.

I think the "2 levels to add damage" thing probably should be grandfathered out entirely, to be honest.  It makes things a bit more cluttered and complicates builds (especially with DCV) if you're trying to simulate combat skill levels.

I think Multipower is absolutely the wrong way to go about it for a lot of reasons but not the least of which is COST

    Points  Power
10     Multipower (Combat Skill Level) 10  pts
        1f     OCV +2
        1f     DCV +2
        1f     Blast 1d6
        1f     HTA 1d6
        1f     HKA 1 Damage Class
        1f     RKA 1 Damage Class

There's your base multipower, its 17 points for 2 overall combat skill levels.  What a bargain

OK but then we're in the same territory as deleting Transfer and saying "build it yourself."  It would be easier for players and builds if you had pre-built skill levels that people could just buy and indicate with a single, simple line rather than yet another block o' text don't you think?

Looker, by Michael Crichton.  Its about a company scanning real models and actresses to use in computer simulations, then killing them so they don't have to be paid.  In the ages of deepfakes and CGI, its just begging for an update.

If you take Starship Troopers for what it is, rather than what it should have been, its a dumb campy and entertaining movie that does nothing whatsoever that Verhoven was trying to do.

Honestly, it wouldn't feel like HERO system without combat skill levels.  I mostly do heroic campaigns now, so that is probably a factor.

But I do like guys who are good at certain things and not others and the idea of shifting the focus of your skill towards offense, defense or damage feels right.

Static OCV and DCV numbers don't feel right by themselves.  I like them as a baseline, but there has to be some room for offensive and defensive shifting.

Plus I find skill levels to be pretty intuitive for the players.  You have fixed offense and defense values and you have a number of floaters that you can shift to one side or the other when your turn starts.

That was one of my biggest gripes with D&D 5th edition.  A level 20 fighter is just as easy to hit as he was at level 1.  His offense soars over the levels, but aside from gear upgrades, he's as easy to hit as the day he started.

Meanwhile in Fantasy HERO the equivalent fighter has OCV/DCV values in the 7-8 range, plus martial maneuvers with his weapons of choice and 4-6 combat skill levels to float around.  If he doesn't want the novice to hit him - then he doesn't get hit.

Based on a decent amount of martial arts training over the decades - this feels more accurate to me.  It's part of why I've stayed with Fantasy HERO.

There are.  If you want to read Starship Troopers yiu need a copy from the 70's.  After that each version seems to drift until the last few versions seem to support the political views of the movie.
I did a side by side of a few key chapters back in 02 or 03ish and was fairly shocked at the blatant editorializing when they "modernized" the book for understanding.  But heck, in the last ten years fascism magically migrated from left to right, so what do I know....

I think it would be trivial to make an adaptation of Starship Troopers that had no pro-fascist agenda lurking in the background, particularly since that's not in the book to begin with. And I think the Iron Man movies showed how to put your star actors in powered armor without losing the ability to see their faces and their emotions.
