Ditto here. Affleck had to work with was he was given (including gunning down people) but he did a good job and personally thought he was the better choice for the chatacter physically. I never cared about Bat-Keaton and while I liked Bat-Bale, he never had the jaw for the role.
In the end Batfleck is closer to the source material.

Me too. I just wish he'd been given better material to work with. I don't feel we got to see Affleck reach his full potential in the role.

I believe such a show would still suffer from a huge case of, "But why bother watching a show set in Gotham City without Batman?" The whole notion is just plain dumb.

Batman: Year One was only worth reading because, at the end of the day, it was about Batman. The fact that it developed Jim Gordon a little further (than usual) was merely gravy, not the main course.

I see a real preference for H-t-H melee specialists there. Would Wolverine go on that list if he was in the MCU? Or is he too exotic with his adamantium skeleton and regeneration?

I do like Cap a lot as a character; one of my favorites in the MCU actually. But as comic book superheroes go, I prefer those with flashier, top-tier superpowers. That is to say, either more than one stat in the FASERIP MN "Monstrous" (75) range and/or multiple powers that don't simply involve punching/kicking.

So Tony Stark noticed how Thor looked like Lebowski.  Did he also notice a similarity in appearance to his former business partner?

I like that they wanted to give Thor an arc in Endgame. However, his journey felt too much like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and not enough like a superhero movie to me. The fact that Thor fell to such a low point makes sense, but the way they played it up for comedy was rather tone deaf in my view. Especially if we are meant to empathize with Thor's pain. It just didn't work for me. They reduced his emotional turmoil to farce.

Hugo Weaving's performance in V for Vendetta was a masterclass in acting without the use of one's face. However, props must also be given to the vfx team who went to extraordinary lengths to add subtle hints of facial expressions to the mask by ingenious use of CG shadows. It was so effective that nobody realized the work they did, only that V was incredibly "expressive" despite wearing a mask at all times.

I think massey meant (lack of) character arc/development strictly within the confines of the one movie (Endgame). Obviously there is lots of character development over the course of the 22-movie series, and that's why he describes Endgame as being more like a series finale than a standalone movie.

And massey isn't the first person to arrive at this conclusion. Grace Randolf has been describing the MCU as "serialized cinema" since Thor: Ragnarok.

I really like this moment for the characters.  I don't like what the Russo's are saying after the fact, because it doesn't feel right.

The reason I liked that is that Thor was worried in that scene that Cap could potentially lift the hammer.  He was almost sweating bullets.

But in Endgame he was filled with -delight- that Cap could.  So as a story, it sounds much better that both of them became better people through everything they've been through.  Cap can become worthy (even the desire to rest, now, may be part of that), and Thor has become happy for someone else rising up to this stature.  That's a really important moment for both characters, who don't show a lot of direct, positive character growth in their movies.

Logically speaking, I agree with this. In fact, had COM been a source of problems in any of the pre-6e games I played, I might have turned to a solution like Striking Appearance myself.

But since I really only ever played Champions, COM was never an issue (it was rarely ever used for anything). It was cheap enough that people could throw a few points into it "just for character concept sake" without feeling like they were entirely wasted points. But for the most part, COM was never a problem in need of a solution for me. The 6e change, while perfectly logical, fell into that category of "needless change for change's sake" for me, and I think I've objected to it strictly on that basis. However, I do acknowledge that the switch from COM to Striking Appearance probably does solve problems for others.

Not sure if I have mentioned it but I really hate time travel stories, I also hate heavy continuity.  Is it any wonder that while End Game entertained me, it did not hit my buttons as a great movie - so many issues with time travel and continuity and how they interact...

The whole thing is a nice gesture to the character, but is problematic, canon wise.

It would be easier to accept if Steve-as-old-man had background cameos in some of the time travel scenes.

And it seems out of character for Steve too. What if a big huge event happens right at Tony's memorial service? Cap doesn't seem to person to "give up" and retire. He seems to be always focused on the next mission.

Cap's shield behaves however the writers need/want it to behave. It defies all known physics and we just have to accept that. If it absorbed all kinetic impacts then it would never bounce off targets and return to Cap. If a dramatic moment requires it be shredded--not unlike a dramatic moment that requires Mjolnir be shattered--then that's what will happen. It will never behave in a consistent manner because that restricts the writers too much.

As for Shuri, when she "fought" at the end of Black Panther, she went out originally to try and help take out Killmonger, and that's about it. She didn't set out to fight side-by-side with the warriors on the ground. In a battle like we see at the end of Endgame, her talents would have been far better utilized remotely piloting--from a nice safe distance--a Wakandan strike flyer through some fancy wearable VR rig. But the writers apparently forgot all about Wakandan technology, and the fact that Shuri's greatest value in a conflict is that technology (and I guarantee you that a Wakandan strike flyer has far, far more firepower and utility as an airborne asset than a pair of energy gauntlets). Their priority was merely to get her on camera for a disposable moment of fan service, and it wasn't even very good fan service.

    Finally got to see Endgame.

It had a ton of great moments, all which have already been mentioned by folks here, but it leaned on time travel as the linchpin of the plot, and none of it made a lick of sense. For that alone, I have to dock the movie a full grade.

I also wasn't fond of Lebowski Thor. And it bugged me that they threw characters into the big battle at the end who had little to no battlefield capability and would have been torn to shreds in seconds (Mantis, Shuri). I mean, there's a shot where Mantis is just standing there doing nothing, and you know why? Because she has no powers that are suitable for that kind of combat environment. In the comics Mantis is one of the most lethal martial artists in the galaxy, but in the MCU all of that has been stripped from her.

The kids in the theater I was in were all kinds of bored and fussy during a lot of the first two hours of the film. There were times when even I was tempted to look at my watch, and I question the need for it to be three hours long. I was also unfortunate enough to see this movie in Los Angeles. I'm pretty sure that in every other city in the country, numerous moments in the movie were received with rousing cheers by the audience, but Angelinos are Too Cool for School and don't react to much of anything. There was some polite clapping at the end when the closing credits began, but that was about it. This only added to my overall sense that the movie was every-so-slightly a let-down (expectations were set way too high from reactions to the movie after the first weekend, and that didn't help either). But it's not the movie's fault that I live in a city that sucks arse when it comes to fellow audience members.

My general thoughts on the movie was that it was a good film with some great moments, but not a great film. Just too many little things bugged me for me to love it.

    The Good:

The fight with Thanos was pretty sweet(bonus points for Cap with Mjolnir).
    Heroes Return
    "Hail Hydra"
    "The People's Ass"
Tony and Cap in the 70's
Nice wrap up to the original team

    The Bad:
Time travel plot...they never hold up under scrutiny.
    The Five Year Gap
Hulk doesn't get a chance to redeem himself against Thanos? WTF?

    The Ugly:

Comic relief Thor: I'd like to thank Chris Hemsworth for managing to make me hate one of my favorite Marvel characters. Not entertaining. Not funny. An insult to the character. Just god awful in all respects.

While the law may not agree with me, I regard COH as abandonware. NCSoft no longer has any moral claim to it as far as I'm concerned. They had their chance to maintain the loyal COH customerbase (and the revenue that came from it) six and a half years ago and they chose to callously discard it.

As for its creators, well, I guarantee you that every line of code was written by salaried individuals, and that every image ever created for the game was procured as "work for hire," and so nobody gets anything resembling a royalty just because the game runs on a server somewhere. And do bear in mind that nobody is making money off of these resurrected servers. Everyone working away at getting the game back up and running is doing so on a volunteer basis simply for the love of the game.
