So, first jab yesterday. (Moderna, if anyone's interested.) A lot easier than I expected: The clinic my brother attends called him a week ago to ask if he'd like vaccination, which none of us expected. He got the jab. When he got home, he realized he should have asked if he could set up an appointment for me. I called the clinic, because what could it hurt, and they said, "Sure, come on in." So my brother drove me there right away. Tiresome paperwork, then wait for them to enter the information, then a small prick on my shoulder, then more waiting while they made sure I didn't drop dead.

After all the news stories about people hunting for vaccinatin slots and crossing the state, I'm almost disappointed it was so easy. (Almost, but not quite.)

No immediate side effects. A half hour later my throat felt a little tight, but that passed a few hours later as the general mild muscle ache began. I feel fine now. And best of all is the glorious realization that Bill Gates is my beloved Master as the nano-chips interface with my brain. 😜

Had my second shot(Pfizer) on Wednesday afternoon and didn't have any side effects until late that night. Then I got the chills and fever that usually come along with a cold. Was pretty wiped until Thursday night and it began to clear up. Fine this morning so I'm ready to face the world(with mask on).

I had my second shot yesterday (Pfizer).  I woke up this morning with chills, fatigue, and general aches and pains--not incapacitating, but I can barely focus enough to play with chemicals.  At least that means my immune system is doing its job!

Uh, that's not twerking. The only objectionable thing I see is that the brunette in the front row is out of time with the rest of the troupe a few too many times.

Got my J&J vaccination this morning.  No protesters, thankfully, just a way-too-long line, but I got through it.  No side effects so far, but it's still early yet...

I'm going to get my shot this afternoon, so I may have the chance to do the same.

I've just given notice at work today, so I've already done so figuratively.

I really wish Reaganomics had more recognition. Too many politicians keep trying to revive it.

If you change all the character names and place names, as well as the names of any events then you have a decent chance of getting away with that.  See Fifty Shades of Grey (or don't, if you value your sanity).

But it's not really relevant because game mechanics are excluded from copyright by long-established case law. On the other hand, any part of the game beyond pure mechanics may well be subject to copyright, and I don't know of any cases involving RPGS that firmly establish where the line is between mechanics and theme/setting/etc.

Further, as mentioned above, just because you might win in the end, all other things being equal, that doesn't mean that you couldn't be bankrupted by a law suit before you could prevail.

Personally, I'm sure that Lincoln (along with every single other human what came cryin' into the world) had his accomplishments, his mistakes, his merits, and his flaws.  He was neither angel nor demon, just human.

Lincoln didn't end the practice of slavery. He condoned it for years during the war. The Emancipation Proclamation affected only rebels. Lincoln was okay with letting Black people pay the price with their bodies and freedoms to maintain the Union.

I was considering this just this past month. In any reasonable context I find myself easily identifiable as a 100% dyed in the wool liberal. Traditional liberal positions on most all major positions.

But there’s couple I just do not agree with. I find several popular positions of the party poorly supported by logic. Or an appeal to emotion vs logic. Or not the role of government.

But that is intolerable these days. You are all in, across the entire party line, or you are a political enemy to be destroyed.

It’s a bit pathetic really. There’s no room for political nuance in either party...

Right now we're seeing Republican administrations in states across America trying to suppress access to voting, because votes mean victory, and they're terrified that without cheating they won't win. We're also seeing broad-based corporate pushback against that legislation, which they're framing as a matter of principle; but there's no reason to expect corporate America as a whole suddenly developed a conscience. They know these laws are unpopular with the majority of Americans, and if they don't get onside condemning them their sales will suffer. So now the bought politicians have to answer to their corporate owners.

The American public does have power, even over those with money, because that's ultimately where their money comes from. The public just has to be smart enough and committed enough to exercise it.
