  1. Re: Comeliness based skills As much as I like having COMeliness a chracteristic, I honestly don't think it lends itself to many, if any skills, that couldn't also be modeled with PREsence and PRE based skills that would get a complimentary COM roll to strengthen the effect. I remember, I think it was in 3rd Edition, that Climbing was a STR based skilled, presumably because of the aspect of climbing that involves grabbing and pulling one's weight up. Starting in 4th, it became a DEX based skill (and clumbsy people do have trouble climbing, no matter how strong they are) but a STR roll could be complimentary. I really think COM works best as a complimentary roll to many PRE based skills. But as a characteristic, it fits in with with the complimentary roll rules.
  2. Re: Non-superheroic 'Superhero' stories Lessee... DC is doing a few westerns again... Bat Lash, and I think Jonah Hex. There's Cavewoman and Jungle Girl and Conan and Red Sonja and the Lone Ranger (who is kind of super heroic but not really) and Doctor Who and Buffy tVS and Angel. I know there's more. I'd suggest hitting a comic book shop and asking there.

  4. Re: Comeliness based skills The hair flip. From the 2000 "Charlie's Angels" movie Alex (to Natalie over mouthmike): Flip your hair. Natalie (also over mouthmike): What? Alex: Flip. Your. G-dd@amn hair. (Natalie flips hair.) (Pete stares dumbfounded, drinks saki he just poured and comes over to ask Nat out.)

  6. Re: Duplication Powers and Tactics Secret identities are a lot easier to keep... I mean Duplo Man can be heading for the emergency, even as his civilian identity comes out of the store room with some paper.

    Poor Taste?

Re: Poor Taste? If the other players and GM go for this, I submit the name "Valhalla".

    Batman

Re: Batman There may be points that are worth quibbling over, but I think this was a very good 350 point Batman.

Re: Superman You'd have to ask Gerry Conway...

  12. Re: Do you have any "deal brekers" when it comes 6th edition? Dude, you want 4e.
  13. Re: New Character: Lady Liberty Me likes.
  14. Re: Do you have any "deal brekers" when it comes 6th edition? What Bob said. I'm still working on the conversion from 4th to 5th Edition for my gaming world. Thankfully, the changes between 4th and 5th weren't so extensive that this has been a problem. Since I won't likely finish by the time there's a 6th edition out... The degee of backwards compatability would probably be the big deal breaker for me. But I'm a pessimist so I'm really waiting for a sign of a deal MAKER.

    Superman

Re: Superman PG had the keyhole opening (the fashion industry term for "magic cleavage window") and fairly impressive "tracts of land" back in her earliest appearance back in All-Star Comics #58.

  17. Re: WWYCD #124 or so:Peace on Earth Morning Star would probably spend the day fighting the restraints the cosmic entity has placed on him. The day of peace thing is all well and good, but there's too much to do to waste time trying to understand why he wants to stop Kristoffer from destroying England or even trying to understand why Kristoffer hates his grandfather (Arthur Pendragon) so much. Preventing all violence (except that perpetrated by the cosmic entity itself) is fine, but there are still car accidents, forest fires, oil spills, flooding rivers, etc. that still need to be dealt with. Or hauling North America's excess grain across the oceans. Maybe the cosmic entity will let Power Star out of prison for the day, and let him stand in as the "worst enemy" and Power Star could at least keep up so they could talk while Morning Star worked on the rest of his job.

    Wonder Woman

Re: Wonder Woman One basic modification... I believe the Mental Radio should have what is, perhaps mislabelled, Clumbsy on the OAF. She pretty much had to stand there with the cord plugged into her tiara. Looks like she was at least 1/2 DCV. At some point, her earrings that allow her to breathe anywhere should be added as well.

    Wonder Woman

Re: Wonder Woman Though there was still some serious "Wonder Woman gets chained/tied up" scenes, especially during the war years.
  21. Re: WWYCD: Out of cash Jack of Diamonds: If anyone needs me, I'll be downstairs, winning us back some operating cash. (The Aces HQ is on a few floosr of a hotel casino.) Riptide: Time to call Playgirl about that photoshoot. Doctor Technon: What? No one's buying fusion reactors anymore? Or paying the maintence fees? Sentinel: "Hello, General Wilcox, please? Bill? Its Harvey." Balatar: *shrug* Morning Star: What no one's buying solar powered cars anymore? Time to squeeze some coal into diamonds...

    Superman

    Re: Superman Very nicely done!
  23. Re: VPPs for Dummies? (IE. Me!) Doesn't this imply that the Adam West Batman had the Streetwise skill? That's a reach.
  24. Re: TWF and Martial Arts What does the TLA TWF mean?
  25. Re: How do you handle campaign limits on defenses? I use the ability for a character to resist becoming stunned as the benchmark. Essentially I require that all characters, even the "invulnerable" ones, to be stunned by an attack that does a certain amount of stun. I think the limit is currently around 90 stun. This takes into acount PD or ED, CONstitution, and Damage Reduction. Characters with high damage reduction are effectively rquired to have lower constitutions. If anyone were to go too far past the midpoint, I'd probably have to concoct a more precise rule but I haven't needed it.
