  1. Just IMO Agreed, one of the reasons Nomad got the cheap shot on Cap was because Jack was like family to Steve. Steve let his guard down for a friend, he wouldn't do it for a total stranger like Bats. Yup, that might do it. Huzzah! Given Bruce probably does have "Analyze" out the wazoo, It makes sense he wouldn't wate time fighting a superior hand to hand opponent unless he had to. Here I must protest. ("I am not a merry man!" ) While, as always, it depends on who's writing, Cap has the proven edge in small unit tactics over about... oh, just about anyone in both universes. Heck, in my opinion, Nightwing is the better combat leader than his mentor. Batman is the premiere detective/deduction expert in his universe, Captain America is the tactic master on the side of the angels in his. Or just having Wayne Industries buy them out You can bet that after this cross over is done, barring some sort of mind wipe, Batman will be thinking of new ways to 'handle' the Avengers if they 'ever go rogue and we have to fight them again' and Captain America will be going over the battle and figuring out how they should handle the JLA if they ever must clash once more. Bats will look for individual weaknesses, Cap will look at the team picture and how to better coordinate on that scale. It's just the way they think.
  2. Q: Wow, check out Mega Woman's... err, costume. A: Now those are, very very real. Too real, they scare me!
  3. The only problem with this is Italy is part of the Axis, and thus not an "allied country".
  4. Right there with ya! Geez.
  5. Défi- A superhuman member of the French Resistance. Ironically, he comes from a line of French noblemen who were lucky to excape the executions during the French Revolution...but there is no greater lover of freedom on the team! He is a master of both fencing, and Savate'. Bulldog- British Brick, super strong, ESPECIALLY once he gets his hands on you. It's very hard to shake him loose. The name wasn't his choice, but the UK government asked him to take it on and act as role model for the people. He's gotten quite good at just that; his oratory skills rival those of Churchill himself. Dough Boy- Not the name he would have chosen, Private K Reynolds had the dubious honor of being one of the first captured Americans. Taken prisoner by Nazi scientists; The experiments went...very wrong. Granting him the super powers he needed to escape, but also making him freakishly doughy in consistancy. Very little can do permanent harm to this stretching super hero, but holding his exact shape is getting harder and harder. Lesidhe- A mystical being sent by Russia. She seems to detest technology, and is elf like in appearance. She's also a formidible sorceress. Lesidhe doesn't seem to care much for Stalin or the communist party, but when asked why she fights on their side, she merely states that the Nazis would mechanize everything, she loves the Russian Land, not it's rulers....and lastly, "grandmother said so."
  6. Q: Where are the speakers , and mays Willie get them? A: Carbonated Water, Pym Particles, High Fructose, Corn Syrup, Gingold, Carmel and forumla X.
  7. Well, from what I read. I like it.
  8. i wouldn't say "low" ego myself, the others sleeping were pretty firmly trapped as well until MM helped out. I do think one of her Psychological limitations might be "Agressive" Ironic as it sounds, she seems to prefer Fight over "flight" Perhaps she has an HA Multipower, there have been times seems to hit for extra Knockback, others when she almost autofires with rapid strikes.
  9. I like phydaux's list. Another suggestion I have is a Greenhouse/indoor garden. A little plant life can liven the place up, provides better air, and is good for meditation. You've already thought of the "Danger Room" I'm sure
  10. Inspired in part by the "Champions of Evil" thread here. As we know, good supervillains are hard to come by. Sometimes it's a good idea to base one on a succesful good guy. So, using our own characters... what if your super hero(s) had "Joined the dark side"? What would have happened to do it, and what would they be like?
  11. Pittsburgh instead of Detroit? Millennium City would instead be done in a black and gold motiff.
  12. I'd err on the side of the hero in this case. After all, watchers don't normally go out trying to undermine your rep.
  13. He's totally right. Soon enough, you'll be spinning flawless tales of wonder and delight that inspire and thrill your players as they've never known!! KS: Hypberbole But you'll do fine.
  14. Q: So, Qun Zo, master Warrior and Son of the 5 winds did battle with the Department of Motor Vehicles, and emerged triumphant? What happened next? A: Depression- It's not just for breakfast anymore.
  15. Apex: He'd try to talk to the authorities, assuredly. If/When that failed, he'd turn ot the press. If they shrugged it off, despite whatever evidence he could present... he'd start to look into that 'imprevious' theory. His secret ID is an archetict, and very few buildings are perfect. While tempted to 'break him out' he'd see if he could find any crimes that were beign pinned on this guy tha t DID happen, and find who's behind it. Since he can't help the guy directly, maybe he can get to the heart of the matter. Lone Star: Texas' most beloved hero ? (Well, he's beloved, maybe not most) He'd put his good rep to good use and see if he could get a stay from the Governor. Should he experience some sort of shut out... well, it's amazing what flying to a city's public square and growing to super size to get the people's on the street's attention can do. Who are you going to believe? A bunch of politicians, or the super hero who risks his life for you daily? Recluse: Let's see, a shrinking mystical spider-man type should be able to slip into the imprevious place by hitching a ride on a guard if nothing else. Recluse would try to free him without playing with electricty. Slammer: Public ID Celebrity hero, he'd put his fame to work campaigning for a stay for the guy. He's a bit overconfident, so he might try the power down trusting he could have the element of surprise. Surge: First, make sure he's SURE. Too many slick guys manipulate heroes, so make sure he' snot the catspaw here. After that, he'd take a technological approach. With the skills he and Jessica possess, they might be able to create just a localized one cell block only black out. Wildcard: An escape artist, trying to open what is essentially a puzzle box? Heck yes. What's more, even before that, if he discovered the cops and politicians KNEW the guy was innocent, but was going to let him fry anyways... well, he might take them for a moonlight swing, dangle them over the docks and play 'Cut with the deck', sort of like cut the deck, but instead slicing the cord that's holding them... "Want to tell me WHY You're letting this guy fry when he's innocent Mr Mayor? *nick cord* Ooo, darn, no spades yet..." He'd also have a recorder hidden to take any confessions, he's crazy, not stupid.
  16. Hmm, sadly, some of my characters are lacking an archnemisis. Must rectify... Will get back to you later.
  17. Okay, Starlord has a point there. LIke I said, I've grown to like Nighthawk (And it seems like Starlord already liked him at the start) but the catalyst for his being a super hero seems a bit week. One would think that as soon as he found and took out enough VIPER agents (Esp if he found THE Ones that scarred him) he'd retire. It doesn't seem to explain the degree of his psychological limitation's intensity. However, it is a minor quibble, and easily touched up. Perhaps there is something deeper? Part of me wonders if Mark didn't have some sort of childhood trauma that he kept bottled up, until the situation with VIPER (Being somehow similar?) opened it all up again.
  18. Hmmm ,so Bruce is in a long line of just nobles who actually work either against or around the system in order to pursue the greater good? Sounds good to me. You know, I've never played a "Millionare Playboy" as a PC, I always felt I was somehow 'cheating' if I tried....but now I might just have inspiration to do it.
  19. Not yet, but there's lots of room for it. The Perseid Empire in particular seems to need filling out.
  20. Mystics "know things man was not meant to know" , and often see or sense the supernatural while others are just going about their mundane lives. For some, this might lead to a sort of 'academic snobbery' supressed by varying degrees. Imagine having read the works of Homer, Shakespeare, and more... in a world full of people who claim never even to heard of the guys? One could feel somewhat isolated by that knowledge, or slightly superior to them. Since magic in comics traditionally requires focus and might respond badly to your emotions, many mystics would try to temper themselves. When getting angry leads to strong winds forming, and misprounced words lead to barriers crumbling, 'Control' becomes a keyword in your life.
  21. Actually, that's an interesting take on a brick, the shy guy (or gal). When social pain is the only pain you can feel normally, you might be reluctant to go out in society. While I think D-Man is right that it might have the reverse effect and make you arrogant, it would be interesting to see a 'non ugly' brick who avoids most social interaction and large groups in particular.
  22. Flight would be very liberating, and yet frustrating... like the speedster, imagine being stuck behind line. You normally can fly over any obstacle, and here you are... waiting.
  23. Just how would having certain powers (or if you prefer a more mechanics oriented question) how would having the powers of a certain archetype affect a guy (or gal)? What psychological limitations might be common based on those powers? I know some of this is already covered in the Champions book, but I figured it was a worthy topic of discussion.
