  1. "Halloween getting you down with all those wretched kids beaming happily saying 'Trick or Treat !' ? Sick and tired of the adults having fun instead of being frightened half to death and more ? Are you dismayed that the witches orgies on this most profane of the old pagan calander's are now just a damp squib ? "worry no more for we have the solution for you ! Dial 1-800-ZOMBIES and a zombie horde is yours for the asking ! Available as a single Zombie or a horde of flesh eating, unkillable walking monstrosities ! Put the bite back into Halloween and make the children and adults remember what it is like to beg for their miserable existence at the hands of an implacable foe ! We regret we cannot take American Express or Diners Club cards. Also available on 1-800-DDGHOUL" A duplicator who can turn himself into a zombie is a rare and awful being. He does not get on well with most of his colleagues. The Dinosaur is too cute, the Cat has shown mercy, Molock sold out and the ghost does not eat people. 1-800-ZOMBIES is a duplicator who creates a a zombie horde from himself and is one of mine. Nice to know it is remembered. Bald Eagle. A bird shape villain with the distinctive head of the Bald Eagle.
  2. Life Story. Animals at birth, growing up, finding a home, having offspring etc. Narrated by David Attenbrough. Wonderful. Although I would not want to be a Barnacle Goose chick. The great thing is they always find something to astound you in nature such as the Barnacle Goose jump or the Puffer Fish in Japan and how it attracts a mate by making a circle pattern on the bottom of a bay.
  3. First new art from Storn received. Not up on site yet but there you go.
  4. In other news it snowed here overnight and it stayed on the ground. That might not mean much to you but.....
  5. Started going through Season 4 of Boardwalk Empire. And Hymie just got it. Arnold Rothstein is beginning to lose it. J Edgar Hoover has been introduced. It is good. Saw the Katy Perry half time show on Youtube. Watched Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla in Japanese and thn dubbed into English.
  6. Let me know if you can see this http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p02gwymg/live-lounge-hozier
  7. An inventor and model enthusiast Bob Symes has passed away at the age of 90. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Symes Also Geraldine McEwan at the age of 82 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geraldine_McEwan
  8. People wonder what happened to The American Protector. He is part of Oversight although the hero teams usually do not know it. The 'hero' had supporters in Congress and the Senate in spite of (or maybe because of) what he did. He is one of the Government appointees and attends in airforce uniform. The government side wanted someone who would do anything to restore order if needed and you knowwho fits that bill to a tee. He dislikes the assignment as he finds himself often stymied by the others if direct action using force (particularly excessive force) is required. The heroes and some of the other people do not know it is the American Protector as he is introduced as Colonel William Rodgers and he feels no compulsion to rectify that.
  9. Funny you say that. I have now seen coverage of the half time show. I have commissioned a shark from Celtic Bolt based on Last Man Standing's Jawsome. Also look on Deviantart for LMS Never Send a Seal to Kill a Shark. From the Create Hero and Villain threads I am thinking of Eager Beaver a giant man sized beaver from Tartarus's Ten. Diabolicus from the Supervillain Army a giant (10 foot) demon red in colour, broad of shoulder and with horns. Something akin to Tim Curry in Legend. Visgoth. A figure in red armour. 1-800-Zombies. The duplicator who becomes a zombie horde. The Colonel from The Rogues Battalion
  10. We have exceeded the minimum so if anyone wants to post a new idea they can go right ahead.
  11. Would anyone of us here know what an expensive plug (which is nothing to do with electricity) looked like ?
  12. Welcome to the Twelveth year that I have done this. If you come up with an idea that I like and that Storn likes I pay for it and Storn does it. Simple no ? I may have also slowed down my acquisition of new artwork but this is an exception. It is an annual thing. well there are rules as long time posters will be aware of. Also even if the idea does not win, someone else may commission it as has happened before or Storn and I may decide to do another one from the thread which lead to Haven Walkur's Saggitarius and Bob Greenwade's Speedbump being done. Or someone else commissioning it from Storn as has happened previously. I will commission a new piece of art from Storn for probably end July and we have until then to come up with ideas for him to do. I have revised the rules from the past eleven years. Some are the same but they are worth repeating. First off people are allowed to contribute ideas BUT there is a snag. As I am the one paying for it, I have to approve it. And Storn has to be willing to draw it. Part of the idea is to challenge the artist with something he hasn't done before or not done in a while. So some ground restrictions and rules. (1) The picture has to be for Champions. It is what I play and it is in this forum that the thread is posted. (2) Non American and non British patriots are welcome. But note, the 2008 and 2010 winners were patriots (Africa and South America). So it will be harder to convince me of a patriot as I have had a British Bulldog and a Britannia done. I also have over 50 American patriotic or quasi patriotic heroes from pics or that Etherio put up previously. And try naming them. Sheesh ! If you have a good idea for a non-British or non-American patriot, please post the idea. It has proven to be easier to get a non-US patriot done as this has a great deal of novelty value for not just Storn and I but everyone else as well. (3) Storn does not like portraying standard gun users. If the idea sound convincing I may go for it but bear in mind Storn might not be convinced that he should do it. (4) Beast motifs. This is a maybe. I had the Lioness pic done six years ago. And have an awful load of these already. Also had a the Brick figure, a Hippo done last year and two year's ago the winner was a Zebra Man. Storn also has expressed an exasperation with Catgirls being requested. (5) No blatent Cheesecake. And anyone asking what this is risks a violent tribillating. This is a family forum area. Women ideas are fine. Villainous women in bikinis are not. And no hero fights crime in a bikini. Not even Batman. (6) No kid heroes/villains. I like the over 18 crowd and proper heroes such as Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman etc. Anyone even suggesting something akin to the Power R*****S will be summarily subjected to a dousing with crude oil. And this year again we set you alight as well. And then dance around you invoking Mightybec. (7) It must be something that I would want to use and something that would interest me. If not then no go ahead. (8) Storn has certain restrictions of his own both because he will be putting the final product on his web site and has his own likes and dislikes. With this we will heed the former and indulge the latter. No Intellectual Property for example so no pics of Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Captain America. (9) Idea can be of an agent, a normal superhero/villain or a boss/mastermind. Note in recent history Storn did the criminal Mastermind Dr Dark for me; an Agent type with a jetpack and the board selected Beautiful Female Martial Artist all for me. (10) If you want Superman, Batman or Green Lantern analogues there has to be some thing about them visually to make Storn and I want to portray it and pay for it. Remember if you don't post an idea, then it can't get done. Enforcer84 indpendently did get a Batman analogue done from Storn three different times. (11) Anyone who has had their idea done previously can apply again. There is no prejudice or bias either for or against you. (12) Wierd ideas. I have commissioned a trenchcoat wearing Purple Worm, Dr Snail who has a metal shell with a howitzer on the top, the gangster Pterra Don (part Dinosaur part gangster) and Bulette Train (part Japanese Bullet train and part Bulette). Try and outwierd me. I dare you. I'll post my own ideas as well plus ones from previous years that I am still willing to consider and may yet independently commission. So post your idea, if I like it then we'll proceed. You may just have a name and we can bash ideas around about it until we get a full picture. Of course if you don't like this approach you could always ask Storn yourself. If you posted ideas in the Create a Hero/Villain thread, try putting that in here as well. I certainly will be.
  13. Outside New York in the countryside there is a monument. It is to a battle fought on American soil that took place over a hundred years after the Civil War. But you won't find it in the history text books or in the guide books. And the Federal and Local Government did not set it up. No. It was set up by a supervillain. The son of one of the participants. Privately funded it lists all the units who fought here and all those who died or as a result lost their lives. It marked the end of an era.
  14. In the museum (your choice) is a metal statue of a woman. The sad truth is this is the heroine Galaxy Girl an alien robot in the shape of a human woman (but airbrushed as if sculpted). She appeared in the 60s and her career continued into the 70s. However the changes wrought by Reaganomics broke her heart and sentience departed from what became a statue. Nowadays she is a forgotten piece of history but one the museum is keen to protect as she may return to life.
  15. The same way we pass every off season, try and take over the world !
  16. Out to the holiday show Destinations. And saw a belly dancer. She was one of a troupe I saw at the same show some years back and was disbelieved as I did not have photographic proof. Well again I do not have photographic proof. I do however have a link to her Youtube channel. There are other longer videoes but this one shows the standard costume. And her hair is almost down to her waist. The constant smiling must get grating for her.
  17. Fever Tree are the new mix of choice IF you can get it. Grew up on Schweppes tonic water which is good but Fever Tree is better.
  18. Fish and Chips for lunch. And the money finally in the bank.
  19. Thanks. Was not certain whether they were aquatic or not.
  20. I can confirm this. And Sipsmith gin is worth a try. They also do a vodka now. I grew up with Gordon's Gin and could not abide it. But having in later years tried Tanquery and Bombay Sapphire, I can now drink gin. Which is always nice with tonic water.
  21. Zornwil and Death Tribble are wagering how much of New Jersey they can destroy before (a) anyone notices and ( and anyone bothers to stop them NT: It is snowing over here. Things that are not affected please.
  22. Alison Carlington is not the best fighter or hero you will ever meet. But she is one of the best dressed. She grew up with wealth but also had a social conscious that shamed her peers. While she had little time for fools, she was able to talk happily with all factions and stay on their good sides. So when she got superpowers at a charity event that was being raided it was obvious that she would not take the easy path of being a crook. She went out and got trained and then got a costume. One that was bulletproof and could absorb damage. Also one that was practical No displaying the midriff. Oh no ! That is one of the first places an intelligent foe might aim for. Alison also accessorised with items that Batman himself might have added to his utility belt. Alison is not a person who will just give a soundbite; she will actually spend time with people and is genuinely interested in their welfare. She has worked with veteran groups and been trained with the US Marine Corps, the Navy and the Air Force. This although dismissed by some as self aggrandisment has won her the respect of those she helps. She has also won admirers by helping the poor and disadvantaged none more so than when a crippled child threw up on her and she laughed the incident off saying 'that clothes could be cleaned'. Her nom de guerre is Fashionista and she has a range of different costumes for different needs. And yes they are all in wonderful colours except the ones where stealth is required and then the colours are muted tastefully.
