This Flash is a kid, so IMHO less likely than Batman or Aquaman.

My money's on Arthur. He looks like the sort of guy with that kind of music on his playlist.

The thing is, Clairsentience in and of itself doesn't perceive anything. You build it by defining what senses it uses. Those are definitely subject to Darkness, Invisibility and possibly Flash at the viewing point., same as anyone who was actually at the viewing point.

As well, Clairsentience is an Unusual sense in its own right, and can be targeted. If you have Clairsentience (Sight) and someone puts up a Darkness (Clairsentience), it blocks your Clairsentience LoS from the point of view, but if your actual eyes can see the area they won't be blocked (it's not Darkness vs Sight). That's how I interpret it.

Squirrel Girl Beats Up The Marvel Universe may have a possible answer there.

Thor has lightning powers, which means direct current. Doesn't mean he or she can deal with alternating current.

But more likely it's "neutronic" energy or something.

It's as if Snyder looked at the costumes from the Jenkins movie and said, "Those aren't authentic Amazonian costumes, I know what real Amazons looked like -- I've seen Xena: Warrior Princess!"

You'll be able to see from where you've placed the viewing point. But it's going to be as awkward as using VR and having the feed coming in from a camera placed a distance away from you.

Darkness defines an area impenetrable to a sense, but Claisentience isn't trying to look through that area. If you turn the "camera" back you'd see a blob of darkness.

Potentially you could have Darkness vs Clairsentience to prevent you using the power to place viewpoints, though this is probably only valid if the GM is running Clairsentience as an actual sense group (or part of Mental). Normally this is not the case. In all cases you could have a drain or suppression field to prevent you using the power.

And special effects are important. Clearly if you have a mystic Eye that flies around and telepathically relays what it sees to you, you're probably not going to be hampered by intervening smoke, but a psychic damper field is going to be an issue. And if your clairsentience is a camera drone relaying feed by wifi, Darkness to Radio would block it. The key point here is not what sense or senses the clairsentience itself uses, but what sense your character uses to gather the information. If your clairsentience is the ability to bend light so that you can see around corners... yeah, a smoke grenade is going to screw you up.

If your clairsentience relays to your iPad screen or a crystal ball, darkness to sight will affect it - you can't see the focus. If it relays to the HUD in your power suit helmet or your All Seeing Third Eye, you'll probably be fine.

I'd also point out that you can normally place a viewpoint regardless of walls and other sight blocking obstructions; most Darkness fields would count much the same as a wall for the senses they block.

The dwarves made Stormbreaker, but Odin also transferred the old "whomsoever is worthy shall have the power of Thor" enchantment. Which he placed on Mjolnir way back when he originally banished Goldilocks to Midgard as Donald Blake for being a dick, which he deemed Thor no longer needed. That also had the side effect of giving Beta Ray Bill a normal body again (the Donald Blake effect), instead of the bionic one he'd volunteered to be made into to act as guardian for his sleeping people. Among other things that helped with his love life. And I believe Lady Sif may have benefited.

Man, I'm surprised I remembered all that, but it's clear as crystal.

Edit: Looked it up - all the making of Stormbreaker stuff happened in Thor #339.

Hela gets "death of hammers" amongst her death abilities, clearly. Or maybe the pre-defined way to destroy that indestructible focus was "Touched by a Death Goddess in Norway when Odin isn't looking." What are the chances, eh?

It's also something that happened post-Odin, so maybe the "Worthy" aspect of it was gone. We never got the chance to see.

Another thought is that Odin may well have built in vulnerability to Hela, just in case he needed her to take care of Thor. That decision would have been made eons ago.

Or, if the hammer was originally Odin's (which I think is in some Marvel continuities) she may well have been involved in its creation.

But I tend to go with "Death Powers".

That Chinese one reminds me a bit of the Genghis Khan statue in Mongolia:

Made of Stainless Steel. The Chinese one is bigger, but the Mongolian effort is more impressive for my money considering their respective population and economies. Plus, there's an observation platform on top of the horse's head!

OTOH Stark also denies being "some kind of superhero" or words to that effect, which implies at least that the concept of superheroes already existed in that world. And given that basically everything Stark did was already front-page news before he outed himself, the press' reaction could also be interpreted as "Holy shot, Tony Stark is a superhero now!"

I'm not saying that was their intent at the time, of course. But I figure it's close enough to pass.

The mythology was always cock-a-hoop by Marvel making Loki a son of Odin anyway. Properly he's Odin's blood-brother.

Oh, and while we know why Jamie Alexander actually didn't come back as Sif (scheduling conflict), Word of God from Feigle is that Loki banished her from Asgard to prevent her finding out he was pretending to be Odin.

Saw it on the weekend, loved it.

Everyone notices the humour, but I haven't seen too much discussion about the extraordinarily high body count (i.e. the entire Asgardian army plus named characters, plus Asgard plus Odin plus - probably - Surtur and Hela. Plus several Dougs.) Without the lighter moments it would be a VERY dark film indeed. Its a real tribute to Waititi that he threads the needle with such aplomb.

Loved Karl Urban's Skurge. Really, is there any role that man can't nail? The last stand was straight out of Walt Simonson's run on the comic, too.

We all knew Natalie Portman didn't want to come back, but I was a little surprised that Sif was AWOL. However, it turns out that was due to Jamie Alexander having scheduling conflict. Which DOES open the possibility of Sif having been off somewhere else in the universe at the time, and bringing her back to complicate Thor's love life (which would be awesome).

Very interesting. Hadn't previously heard that Captain Marvel  was going to be set in the 1990's. I approve - things are getting crowded in the 21st century.

Which leads into a thought I'd had yesterday, thinking about MCU getting X-Men and FF back.

What if their MCU versions are set earlier in the timeline? I think that might work particularly well for the Fantastic Four, as well as enabling them to be restored as pioneers of the modern superhero era. They mined the Walt Simonson era for Thor, why not mine the Byrne era for FF?

There's been a lot of buzz about the Hulk being one of the bigger drawing factors for Ragnarok right now. And as Mark Ruffalo has described it, Hulk essentially is getting a full film's worth of story arc, just spread over Ragnarok and the next two Avengers films. So it's not so much that Disney doesn't want to do a Hulk standalone, as they found a way to do it by end-running around Universal.

I choose to believe that Sif was off Asgard also trying to hunt down information regarding the Infinity Stones.

This leaves the possibility that Sif returns in Avengers 3 or Avengers 4 with information about the Infinity Stones and how to defeat Thanos.

Plus having Sif and Valkyrie on the same team/film/action sequence would be excellent.

The vault was sealed in 1956 by order of President Eisenhower.

All records of it were redacted or destroyed, except at the highest levels. Even knowledge of it for the Executive branch was deemed on a need to know basis; the contents deemed too dangerous to release except in the most utter of extreme emergencies.

    That day has come.

Facing certain annihilation at the hands of the invaders, with the heroes defeated, dead or missing, and the villains co-opted or likewise destroyed, Special Operative Jane Hammond receives the order, verified personally by the President, the UN Secretary General and the VIPER Supreme Serpent to unlock Secure Containment Facility 666: Pandora's Vault.

Inside, five half-century old cryogenic containers start to warm up as lights flicker and hum to life. There is an acrid, metallic stench.

First to awaken is a slim figure of middling height and piercing eyes. He stretches catlike as he climbs from the capsule, decades of forced hibernation seemingly a mere inconvenience. He walks up to Hammond and gives her a thin smile that chills her to her bone.

    "So."

    Hammond looks away and nods.

"Well then. I suppose it's been awhile. Better catch up, eh?"

With lightning speed the man grabs Hammond's head - her eyes jerk wide open and she starts to scream, but slumps to the ground, lifeless, before it can escape her lips. The security detail attempt to fire their weapons, but nothing happens.

"Oh, don't bother boys. I've already mind locked you. Hmm. Interesting."
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Alan Crule, sometimes known as The Mind. Most powerful telepath in history. Emperor of Earth between 1954 and 1956, though I imagine no one remembers all that thanks to the fellows that put my companions and myself in this little holiday retreat. Obey my every whim and we'll get along just famously."

The Mind gave a little chuckle.

"Oh, that's right - you don't have any say in the matter. Silly me. Ah, here comes someone else out from the arms of Somnus..."

Nothing so ominous- the player in question dropped out of the campaign early on, and his character wasn't sufficiently different from the other non-powered heroes to be worth writing up in the book. If you want to include him, take Black Mask, drop most of the detective-y stuff and replace it with a combination of cowboy and spy stuff, and drop the specialized guns and replace with Colts and maybe a small collection of trick-shot powers (TK to disarm or knock objects on opponents, etc.) dw

I beg to differ. I played EVE for over three years as my main game and just never bothered with all that sec space heavy PvP stuff. Stuck to Hisec, ran missions, chatted amiably on the Help channel and after about 10 months was keeping my sub up without paying real money because I could earn enough isk doing exploration and epics to fund a PLEX each month. The PvP aspect really comes down to "EVE has the absolute best threats to fight in any MMO". I treat pirate players like NPCs with exceptionally good AI.

And I really found the EVE community to be great. There's a limit to how rude you can be when the game actively encourages you to hunt down and ruin an annoying troll. Or hire someone to do it for you.

I swapped over to Elite Dangerous when that launched and haven't played much EVE since, but the upcoming shakeup to the free to play in December has me interested again.

I would ALWAYS encourage anyone to give EVE a shot. Just remember to only fly what you can afford to lose, don't get all precious about mere replaceable gear, and have fun.

And in relation to those "real world costs" from the big battles... no one actually buys those. It's all generated using the in-game economy. Just because you could buy a Titan for x amount of Dollars doesn't mean much - every part of that Titan had to actually be constructed from mining the minerals to building it in a special spacedock in game.
