2. Re: Best Basic 60 Point Power: Followers! 15 pts. of wealth is the highest listed in the book, but does it actually state that a character can't go higher? What about 60 pts. of wealth? This would probably only work for Star Hero campaigns with Sci-Fi Zaibatsu where someone can own whole planets or even star systems...
3. Re: Am I explaining genetics correctly? According to what I Googled, including this Wikipedia page, the male:female ratio in China is around 1.13 to 1.2, so a lot more Teeks than Teeps. As to XXY, I was already thinking about how to use them in the game. The U.S. will have some shadowy programs going on, but will still be one of the most free places in the world, which means a lot of powers will seek asylum here. This will skew the normal ratio, and I think it will mean the U.S. will have two XXY's(one came from India) while China has one, the whole continent of Africa has one, and Switzerland has one(technically, though he originally escaped from Russia and currently moves throughout Europe working with several governments). I was already thinking of a plotline involving an attempt to use IVF to create an XXY. It technically wouldn't even require genetic engineering, just some micro needles to force two X's and a Y chromosome into an egg, right?
4. Re: Am I explaining genetics correctly? I am planning on making it 1 in a ~100,000, but only 10% are strong enough to realize they have a power of some sort and exercise it. For the other 90%, it will be a latent or "only under stress" situation, and of the 5000 that know they have power, almost all will be controlled by the a government in some way. One of the gaming group once cross-dressed and played a woman, but usually they are all guys, so I expect they will think that since I only offer them TK, they will think everybody has TK -- until a female government agent messes with their minds.
5. Re: Am I explaining genetics correctly? That's a good idea, to have the recessive X chromosome be a "key", to combine with either another X or a Y. Yeah, I should just google some Mendel charts. I was thinking that it could be a series of recessive genes, so that even two powered parents don't always beget a powered child. I was also thinking about just what other mental powers an XXY will have beyond Telepathy and Telekinesis...
6. Re: The Official Handbook of the Marvel Bunnyverse I agree. Comics are supposed to be dramatic, yes, but not "soap opera" dramatic, you know? As to Logan's age, considering his healing factor, I'd be quite fine with him being centuries old. Hell, he could be the Wandering Jew for all I care, I just want him to say more than "bub" while his claws go "snikt" every page...
7. I've been thinking about a new homebrew campaign world, where it would basically be the modern world, with the only powers being variations of Telepathy and Telekinesis. I've been thinking of making TK male-only and TP female-only. I'm trying to remember my high school genetics to explain the difference. Could the TK need a recessive gene that only resides on the Y chromosome, making it male only, and the telepathy require two recessive genes to activate the telepathic powers, and these only reside on the X chromosome, making it female-only? This would then make Telekinesis much more common, since it only required one recessive gene, from the father, right? And, is it possible that a person have an XXY configuration? I seem to remember this is the cause of Down's Syndrome, but I might be mistaken. Thanks for any feedback.
8. Re: Best Basic 60 Point Power: Followers! That and 15 pts. of Wealth makes a good team backer.

Due to unknown circumstances, there was an explosion and Roger escaped. ERS covered up the doctor's deeds and declared it an accident, declared Roger dead and paid a sum to his only living relative, his sister Elaine. But in truth, they know what happened and want Roger's body back. In addition, there was never any body, so there may be a copy of him out there, possibly still being experimented upon by ERS. Left with an incomplete manual on a handheld computer, Roger deciphered what he could and started helping people as Blackhawk. Since joining the Ferriman Institute, he has made progress in discovering just what this body can do. Due to the complexity, there is some debate about the true creator of the body, as Dr. von Heyn's notes indicate he did not create it, and at least one researcher believes that the Iron Emperor is true creator of Blackhawk's body. Personality/Motivation : He never had much in the way of heroic impulses before, but now he feels a responsibility to shield those who can't bounce bullets. Much of this is because if he keeps moving and helping others, he doesn't have to dwell on the question of just what he is now. Quote : "Wait...I can do what now?" Powers/Tactics : A jack of all trades, he can fly, run fast, lift lots, and fire a variety of energy bolts out of his palms. In addition, he can do a lot of this very efficiently, and has superhuman senses. He can surprise enemies who expect just a flyer, just an energy blaster, or just a brick by switching roles mid-battle. Unfortunately, he doesn't have much of an academic background. EDIT: I noticed an error in the STR reduced End, and played with it in HD a bit. I ended up removing the Multipower for the energy blasts and upping the flight a bit. I decided that he had just discovered the energy blasts and was still exploring the ability.
14. Re: DCV of Stationary Object Now, that's the math I'm talking about.
15. Re: "Neat" Pictures Wow, those are some really cool pics, Susano, thanks for sharing! I wonder how much one of those "forests in an aquarium" costs?
16. Re: DCV of Stationary Object Well, sure, if you want to skip all the fun math.
17. Re: DCV of Stationary Object It is DCV 3 to hit anywhere in a 2m hex. The hex is approximately a circle, so to determine the square feet it would be pi*r^2, and 1 meter is 3.28 feet, so that's pi*(3.28)^2 = 33.8 sq. feet A kneeling man would be, what, about 4 feet by 3 feet? That's 12 sq. feet, just a hair over a third of the square feet that qualifies for DCV 3. I'd say that's DCV 4 or 5, but since it's motionless, that bonus would be easily overcome by the OCV bonus of bracing and taking extra time for accuracy.
18. Re: A New Dawn. 'Post-Apocalyptic' Fantasy Cool story for an undead hero! Repped.

21. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? It's a crazy, gorgeous film, and I can see its positive influence on the second Hellboy movie, but I don't think I'll be able to watch it for at least a few years. There are a few movies like this, that I'm glad I watched, and can even be among my "favorite" films, but that I cannot rewatch for whatever reason.
22. Re: Dimension-Hopping with the Gods and apparently they now guard Tartarus: So how would one stat up throwing 100 rocks as big as mountains as an attack? There was also the 100 eyed guardian, Argus Panoptes, who never slept, looking with four eyes in every direction, and was a guard for Hera:
23. Re: The Devil Inside... The boy is probably long gone already -- four of the seven seals keeping this terrible demon king at bay have been sundered, that's over half of its power unfettered, almost certainly overwhelming any mortal soul the boy may have possessed. However, killing a few people while rescuing an innocent is cause for concern, not termination. This "Order" kidnaps his girlfriend, and then the two imps just happen to approach the boy and show him how to sunder the first seal. Yeah, right, the Order was trying stop him from manifesting? More likely they were willing sacrifices to bring back their dark lord. The plan is simple: research. Find out everything possible about this demon king. Find out everything possible about this Order. Find out everything possible about the seals holding back the demon king. Do they have to be repaired, or recreated? Can the Demon just be vanquished now, or is it still too powerful and must still be sealed away?
24. Re: Billy Deighton *bump* This was a blast to read. Is this campaign still going?
25. Re: R.I.P. Steve Gerber I must admit that I never got into his comics, maybe I was too young, but I loved Thundarr!
