Recently watched the Les Miserables mini series broadcast by PBS in 2019 on DVD.  It's not the musical adaption but a straight adaptation of the book and in my opinion was done pretty well.

I applaud the ten Republican Representatives who voted to impeach Mr. Trump, as well as the seven Republican Senators who voted to convict. I know it was a difficult decision that will probably come back to bite them next election season. I thank these leaders for their courage.
 
The rest of the Republicans in Congress can go straight to Hell as far as I'm concerned.

Stark was a super egotist who assumed that he'd thought of all the variables and knew best despite his judgment having been proven to be terrible again and again. I wouldn't count on him having identified unforeseen wide-scale consequences of undoing the snap (remember, such only exist because of his insistence that the disintegrated people and animals be brought back 5 years later, rather than undoing it the instant it happened) in the constant slugfest between Bruce using the gauntlet and him doing so. Indeed, his standard operating procedure would have had him refusing to acknowledge that he'd overlooked anything in their previous agreed-upon plan and shouting down any naysayers until presented with overwhelming evidence of it not working exactly as intended.

Honestly, no one has linked to the news story, that I've seen, and I have no idea what details of the story have been made public or not.
 
But from what others have said in this thread, the police pepper sprayed a kid who was already in the back of a police cruiser.
 
If that's what happened, I don't care if the kid slit the throat of the pope: that was completely inappropriate behavior from the police.
 
I have every confidence that a nine year old kid could flat out kill me if she tried because I'm not exactly in robust health. But even I could control a nine year old kid who's already in the back of a police cruiser without resorting to using a weapon.
 
If the police actually used a weapon on a kid after she was safely in custody, the police were solidly in the wrong.

If conservative voices don't want to be silenced, perhaps they should not voice threats, level unsubstantiated accusations, sympathize with declared enemies of the United States, or advocate sedition.  But that's just my voice.

Personally, I've yet to be disappointed by Legendary's "Monsterverse" movies. By several of the standards of general film making they could definitely have been better, but they gave me plenty of what I go to movies like these for: awesome looking giant monsters in awesome fights.

Oh, hey. While we're invoking works of fiction in our lawsuits, perhaps the Trumpkins can argue that all the election officials who say Biden won were under the Imperius /Curse from the Harryt Potter books.
 
If the Trumpkins are willing to pay me a lot of money, I'll produce an affidavit to this effect, based on my impeccable expertise with the supernatural. It would make as much sense as some of the crap they're citing.

You don't actually need a declared war to commit an act of war under the title. I think the real sticking point is intent. Since most of these upstanding citizens have a fuzzy idea of their own intent at best, that's probably hard to prove.

There's a lot of false equivalency being tossed around on the right to try to downplay and equate the insurrectionists with BLM, Antifa, and people concerned about Russian interference.  I'm assuming this level of diversion and denial lasts until the first domestic terror act to occur during the new administration, likely committed explicitly in Trump's name.  

There is no equivalency between the Black Lives Matter movement and a bunch of "patriots" rushing into the Capitol building threatening to kill members of Congress and the executive branch.  Anyone who feels that there is, I want them to publicly say so and stand behind their words.  

I was specifically calling out federal elected officials, including POTUS, but also people like the Air Force veteran who died when she was shot, storming the Capitol as well as other veteran and active duty personnel.  I am also an Air Force veteran, and that made me sick.

Did I somehow hallucinate five of the last six MCU movies grossing over a billion dollars apiece, over TWO billion dollars in two cases?

So a friend linked me to the first issue of Power Pack's Outlawed tie in and I have to say Ryan North actually gets the characters.  He writes them well and before Civil War Jr used the comic as it's commode the story was fun, interesting and generally delightful.  The Power Pack was handling the situation like true professionals, like a super team should (Champions take note) and if the story had ended with the Powers thwarting Boogeyman and going home it would have been perfect.  Instead we have "blatantly fascist organization that Captain America would be beating the crud out of if Marvel hadn't deballed him in Civil War" interfering and sucking any fun from the comic.  Sadly I don't imagine this is gonna lead to Power Pack effortlessly trouncing said goons, en route to exposing the villain behind this plot to take down teenage heroes either.

Of course Slott also wrote Superior Spider-Man and Spiderverse, so I'm a tad conflicted on that recommendation.  I mean Into the Spiderverse was awesome but the Spiderverse comic was just interesting alternate versions of Spidey being slain by uninteresting characters related to a villain I can't stand.  I mean seriously, I'd take a Spider Ma'am comic over anything involving the Inheritors any day of the week.

And yet the recent spate of extremely profitable superhero movies have been founded upon selfless action striving to help others, even at great personal cost. The biggest movie of last year, Avengers: Endgame, featured a whole cast of protagonists driven by responsibility, compassion, self-sacrifice, love. I believe the trend of narcissism, cynicism, nihilism in entertainment has worn down, and many people are hungry for stories of true heroism again. They just want those stories to be told well.

I'd question the point of ever letting Orton win the title but then, I'm notoriously anti Orton.

Ugh, I utterly despised the MCU Spider-man movie.  I actually didn't watch Far From Home because I despised the first one so much, I actually walked out in the middle of it because I disliked it so much.  Barely competent Spidey would be bad enough but condescending abusive Tony Stark was a step to far.
