I'm old enough to remember them saying that it was stupid to expect Mr Mom to be a good Batman.. but that worked out OK.
 
I'm not holding that franchise against the actor.  It wasn't all his fault.  The stuff he is pulling on set?  Go ahead & be mad at him about that.

The Suicide Squad was really entertaining, I watched it on HBO Max last night with my teens and very much enjoyed it. Funny movie. I loved the fan service, and the opening sequence was hilarious.
 
Have not had the interest to watch Black Widow. It’s a prequel on a character I don’t find that interesting, and I thought they did a nice job closing her story arc in Infinity War. I may get around to seeing it at some point because of Taskmaster, but otherwise it doesn’t really feature any characters I care much about from the trailer. Red Guardian? Other trainees from the Red Room program?
 
I’m clearly not what they’re looking for in an audience, it doesn’t look that fun to me.

Honestly agree or disagree with it, its bad how its playing out.  No matter what your worldview is, stomping on people and destroying them for having different opinions from you on something is ghastly and horrific in its import.  Banks refusing to do business with someone, sites banning people over it, websites refusing business with someone because they had a differing idea on some subject is the way Bad Guys act.
 
And if every business gets together agreeing with this ideology and approach, its not just tyranny, but the death of creativity, freedom, and independence.  There used to be a tacit understanding that what people thought and believed was none of anyone else's business and businesses were only interested in legality and the bottom line.  This overt, calculated, and coordinate religious extremism to destroy anyone and anything that varies from the (ever changing, arbitrary) dogma of the current ideology is hideous and wrong.  There is no moral or just way to defend, support, or cheer on this kind of thing, let alone take part in it.
 
And that's a real problem I see building and building in our current culture.  The MAN is leaning on everyone who dares question the religious dogma of the establishment and working together behind the scenes to make that happen.
 
Nobody, anywhere, should like this or support it.  The proper, reasoned, and just response should be horror and opposition.

You would think that type of marketing would drive the box office down but both topped one billion USD despite the haters. The people who were looking to be offended were I guess but maybe making movies for women and black audiences is something that could catch on. 

...and this is what lead to difficulties in Season Two of the Mandalorian. Pedro Pascal, who I think is a pretty good actor, was tired of wearing the mask all the time, to the point he was losing enthusiasm for the role. Compromises were made.  It's what makes me admire Karl Urban all the more in Dredd, as he committed to the bit, and never took the helmet off. (Really good portrayal of Dredd, too, by the way.)
 
It is looking like The Batman, may be a disaster, but mostly because of antics and sabotage by it's star.

Now I wish someone would explain that keeping the mask on "outside of "headquarters", means it's easier to conceal stunt performers, and therefore reducing the budget slightly as they don't need as much CG. CG Ain't cheap, as my price sheet displays 

A car full of Irish nuns is sitting at a traffic light in Dublin when a bunch of rowdy drunks pulls up along-side them.
"Show us yer titties!" one of the drunks shouts, with encouraging hoots from his friends.
The Mother Superior is shocked, and says to Sister Mary sitting next to her "I don't think those hooligans know who we are!  Show them your cross Sister Mary."
So Sister Mary leans out the window and yells "Piss off, you fookin' little wankers before I come over there and rip yer balls off!"
She turns back to the Mother Superior and asks "Did that sound cross enough?"

Aquaman was a success because for once they took one of the best story arcs from the comics and ported it pretty much straight into a screenplay.
 
It had humor but took itself seriously(toilet scene withstanding) and the cast did a great job without anyone being over the top. It also had arguably the best villains of any superhero movie especially in their motivations. Manta and Orm both have real reasons to oppose Arthur other than evil for evil's sake. And they both survived so there's good sequel potential.
 
 

The Ultimate Spiderman run which centered around Peter's death was a great story but just isn't feasible in the MCU( No Iron Man or Captain America, no Sinister Six) I doubt even Feige could pull together a story that would do it justice. It could lead to Peter faking his death somehow and Miles getting empowered through the story but that's the best option i can see being feasible.
