  1. support? You closed the thread and I have a follow-up question. Is the answer listed in the FREd or only in 5ER?
  2. Re: a Villian game Games where the players play the Villains are always dificult becuase the players have to be very pro active. Heroes tend to hang around the super-base and wait for an alarm to go off signaling them into action or they follow leads to the action. Villains create the action. You use an entirely different set of plot hooks and as a GM you have to be ready for the players to have characters doing all sorts of heinous stuff. This campaign would definitely have to come with a Mature Content disclaimer. Also villains tend not to work together very well, unlike a team of heroes who may have one mildly anti-social type among them, the villain team may be entirely made up of sociopaths. Maybe someone else has more positive advice, but mine would be to walk away...cool idea, but not worth the headache.
  3. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Somehow I missed that one...could anyone link it? With your permission of course Storn.
  4. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics I like the idea of a brick with no enhanced STR for Emma's Diamond Form. Maybe use HAs or a Damage Shield so she can dish out some damage, and Damage Reduction 75% to PD, ED & Mental. She shouldn't be throwing cars around though.
  5. Re: X Men Colossus and his Osmium Form Hey no need for self-deprication CDad. I like to see people try to come up with new ways to represent an old idea. Good to see you thought it out and were receptive to feedback.
  6. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Best Sapphire pic I've seen yet Storn, well done!
  7. Re: Global Guardians PBEM: 3 Immediate Openings I wouldn't be offended by gay characters in the least, but I have to say that your signature is a bit disconcerting. Why celebrate anyone's death? I'm sure you meant it as a play on the Wizard of Oz, just a bit too far for my taste.
  8. Re: Storn Art from Idea to Full Picture Year 2 Sounds like a fine idea E84.
  9. Re: Global Guardians PBEM: 3 Immediate Openings Great! Now I have this AND my taxes due on the same day! hehe

  12. Re: Seeds of Change PBEM I didn't receive a responce in the last round either. Nothing was said about not receiving mine though. Just checking in.
  13. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen I know the 70s version was back a page or two, but I am surprised this thread got to almost 4 pages without someone nominating the coolest reformed criminal detective of the 70's for that team...James Rockford! Hell, most people born in the 70's only know the bootlegger driving maneuver as "pulling a Rockford". This guy was a reformed con man and petty thief turned P.I. perfect for a 70's (or possibly 80's) LXG.

His new uniform is all black with red boots and gauntlets and a black pullover mask with red lenses over the eyes. The Gauntlets have been re-modulated to glow red (originally yellow when VIPER made them) when in use and there is a stylized red fist emblazoned on the uniform's chest.Personality: Gordon was a bully as a child and continues to enjoy bullying others. He has become somewhat paranoid from months of being on the run from VIPER. Gordon steals what he needs and likes to surface every few months for a big score and then lay low until his funds run out.Quote:Think you're strong? You look like a punk ta me!Background: From his early teens, Gordon knew he was stronger and tougher than anyone he'd met. He was too cool to play sports, mostly he just didn't like those fat old coaches telling him what to do. So Gordon spent his High School years as the biggest bully in three counties and generally making trouble for local cops. After High School graduation he was approached by Military Recruiter who had found out about Gordon's Mutant physiology, but Gordon didn't want some buzz cut wearing wack job ordering him around either. Gordon couldn't hold a job as he continued to bully co-workers and when money got tight, he looked to hire himself out as muscle to a local street gang. The gang turned out to be a farm team for VIPER and quickly Gordon was offered a chance to join Dragon Branch. Gordon accepted on the terms that he could leave whenever he wanted, which VIPER agreed to, but had no intent to honor.Gordon went through his training and the staff put up with his bullying and lack of discipline and sent him out with a VIPER team to rob an UNTIL Armory in (Campaign City). Gordon had been given the code name Masher and a uniform to wear. Masher and the VIPER agents were successful in cracking the armory, but barely escaped when the (local heroes) showed up. VIPER decided that Masher needed more power and sent him to the R&D Dept to see if they had any new gear he could make use of. They had recently developed a set of Gauntlets that would manipulate bio-energy allowing he wearer to sap the bio-energy from anyone he touched, sometimes even adding that power to the wearer's own. The preliminary testing had shown that the gauntlets were very unreliable, but somehow Gordon's Mutant Physiology stabilized the gauntlets. Gordon loved the idea of making those smug super heroes weak as kittens and pounding them to paste, but Occulon (Dragon Branch's leader) had doubts about Gordon's loyalty and decided that if the Gauntlets required a Mutant, he would give them to Freon, a much more reliable member of Dragon Branch. Gordon was furious and when asked to turn over the Gauntlets by his Nest Leader, he instead went on the lamb. He has changed his name to Crimson Crusher and gotten a new costume. Gordon generally works alone, afraid that any criminals he joins up with would turn him over to VIPER for the reward. Powers/Tactics: Gordon is an unexceptional brick for the most part, but the training and gauntlets he got from VIPER make him a dangerous foe. Gordon likes to pick on the man in charge whenever he pulls a job, whether that be a bank manager or the Super Team's Leader. He will do his best to weaken and belittle his chosen target. Gordon cannot afford to get caught and has become much better at devising escape plans before going on a job.Campaign Use: Crimson Crusher can represent a unique opportunity for role-playing in that he is Hunted by VIPER like many of the heroes are. They may not be so willing to turn him in if they know VIPER is looking for him. They may even find themselves protecting him from VIPER or being used as patsys to hunt him down for VIPER.
  18. Re: Storn Art from Idea to Full Picture Year 2 Since Storn has expressed specific interest in this idea, I think it is the way to go. My vote is to focus our collective energy in this area.
  19. Re: Seeds of Change PBEM No frustration at all, just excited to be so close to getting this thing going is all. Keep up the good work and thanks for keeping us updated.
  20. Re: Seeds of Change PBEM Just making sure I got put on the list....haven't received anything as of 2/22/05 12:01 PST.
  21. Re: journal of a hero Great stuff Speedball!! I share your concern about writing these charactres that are WAY smarter than we are, but it looks like you have a much better handle on it than I do. My character in the Seeds PBeM has Vancouver BC as his hometown...should work in nicely with that Aug 3 04 entry. Can't wait to get this game firing on all cylinders.
  22. Re: What do with a player ... TFOS = Teenagers From Outer Space It was a Steve Jackson Game much along the lines of Toon. There was even a asaturday morning cartoon called Galaxy High that spurred interest in this game for a bit. Overall if you prefer aliens to magic it is a cool setting for a teen champions game. [EDIT: My bad, R. Tal not SJG. thanks Stormraven]
  23. Re: Storn Art from Idea to Full Picture Year 2 I like this idea too...once ran a game where Icicle's mutant powers went haywire and she looked RPM described with tons of small sharp spikes. Sometimes she would "errupt" and send spikes in all directions. The air around her was about 5 degrees kelvin and would flash-freeze people and projectiles as they approached, turning them to ice the way a medusa would turn you to stone. All the while she is floating through he city on an icy breeze, screaming for someone to help her, and leaving a string of good samaratin ice sculptures in her wake. But you guys are probably looking to make a hero.
