  1. Re: Eurostar is friggin' fast! The 5th versions of Eurostar aren't quite as fast, but they have plenty of power nonetheless. Fiacho can pack a wallop with his martial arts and Find Weakness. Mentalla only had a slight power drop, but a bump to 6 SPD. I'd be much more afraid of the current version. The others are more or less the same as their 4th edition counterparts in terms of raw power. However, I'm much more afraid of The Crowns of Krim. They are the new "team to beat". Rob
  2. Re: Scorpia: Pageant Mom or Compete Physco? Based on her two primary psych lims, she's definitely psychotic. Rob
  3. Re: Is anyone running Galactic Champions? No, but I AM using one of the villains from the book(heavily modified) as my main master villain. Rob
  4. Re: Beyond Conquerers, Killers, and Crooks: Your favorite villains? Sovereign The Sylvestris Teleios Tachyon Rob
  5. Has anyone actually seen this yet? Beyond the brief description, can anyone explain more fully just what is in this book? I'm thinking about buying it, but I'm not sold on it yet. Rob
  6. Re: The New Champions (Marvel) Good writeups, but I thought the STR was a bit high on both. I'd peg Thundra at about STR 60(since Marvel states she can lift around 60 tons..so it's convenient). Giant Man is listed as lifting about 5 tons...so I'd drop him to STR 40 and give him HtH attack if you need his damage higher. That's just my opinion though. Given how Marvel retcons every month, this may have changed by now. Rob
  7. Re: Which book should I get? All are good, but you just can't deny the WEALTH of information in Villany Amok. That'd be my first choice...followed by Champions Battlegrounds. rob
  8. Re: Roll up, roll up... Let's see how YOUR Marvel Select will do... I love The Avengers....soooo... Captain America: Leadership Thor: Pure power Iron Man: Brains and scientific skill Vision: More brains and unusual powers(phasing inside Superman WOULD hurt him) Scarlet Witch: The catch all...what CAN'T she do? Sub-mariner: Super strong...an experienced fighter. An obvious counter to Aquaman. Moondragon: A reasonably powerful psi to protect the team from Manhunter For support: Sersi: Powerful set of abilities Wonder Man: Strong and tough Rob
  9. Re: Characters: Bad Medicine for Dr. Drugs I always liked this adventure. A true example of a Teen Champions campaign. I'm not so sure about beefing the characters up, though moving points around(within reason) probably wouldn't hurt. I'd keep them vulnerable. Rob
  10. Re: Who Do You Tthink Thay Will Lock Up In "Stronghold" (the book)? Yeah..I vote for some old villans too....or maybe a mix. Sonar and Radar would be a cool return. Insectoid wasn't that interesting...so he can stay in limbo as far as I'm concerned. Rob
  11. Re: Who is your campaigns "Bad Guy they love to hate" Well....at the moment....it's probably be Anubis from CKC. Mainly because of his continual insistence that heroine Solaria(avatar of the Egyptian god Ra) submit and be his concubine. My group also loves Foxbat(though he's currently incarcerated and undergoing psychiatric evaluation....again). In the near future, I think the top of the villain pile will go to Bocal(From Arcane Enemies) and then Paragon. Rob
  12. Re: Favorite Superhero Lines From Watchmen: Ozmandias: I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you honestly think I would explain my masterstroke if you had any chance whatsoever of affecting the outcome? I did it 35 minutes ago...."(Cue a shot of New York...and 3 million dead.)
  13. Re: Millennium Force Fallen My group only has four regulars at this point. I can use the no-show players as NPCs....so no worries. 3-4 is an optimal size group IMO. Afterall, look at The Incredibles. Rob
  14. Re: Best Hero book for... I'd buy DEMON....as it's easily usable in a non-CU game. Arcane Adversaries as well. After that, Mystic World has a lot you could "borrow". Rob
  15. Re: Marvel's Exiles: Hyperion Challenge--build a team to beat him!
  16. Re: Marvel's Exiles: Hyperion Challenge--build a team to beat him! Well....limited to six...I'd choose the following: Thor Iron Man Captain America Vision Scarlet Witch Moondragon Yeah....basically an Avengers lineup, but that grouping can handle most threats.(My ideal team adds Sub-Mariner to that list.) Honestly, I think you're overestimating the power of evil Hyperion a bit. The above team should be able to defeat him without too much trouble to be honest. Rob
  17. Hey all, In the very near future, I'm going to be traveling to both the state of Missouri and later to Chicago. My question is....does anyone have any recommendations for good hobby stores to visit while in either area? I'm specifically looking for locations that carry Hero products and even more specifically pre 5th Edition products. Anyone care to clue me in..as I'm not very familiar with either area really? Rob
  18. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From my Champions game, The Outsiders are facing down Black Paladin and his new girlfriend. The following exchange takes place.... Black Paladin(Me): " It has come too far to be thwarted by you knights of this new age now. I will not be stopped...not this time. " Surgical Steel(Player): " Oh.....all our villains say that.....and where are they now? " Black Paladin(Me): " At large? "
  19. Re: Taking STUN from Killing Damage Yeah...what he said....
  20. Re: Villainy Amok I like what I see so far, but I've barely even made it through the first chapter. Definitely a FULL book. You get your money's worth, if what I've read so far is any indication. Rob
  21. Re: Pulp Film Recommendations The original Godzilla is...in its uncut form....a pretty dark film. Very enjoyable. Have fun.
  22. Re: Pirate-Theme Villains Needed Blast....beat me to it. I actually had a character with this name. Rob
  23. Re: Millenium City... Salt Mines? They were used to vanquish The Slug. Rob
