Re: Sharper than a Serpents Tooth Well, by this point, Gorgon is out of the fight. Both Krait and Firedrake are potential turncoats, and regardless, Firedrake holds back. That leaves King Cobra...and despite good stats, he's not a combat monster. Players tend to be more effective than you give the credit for. My 350pt group faced 5-3 odds against The Pack(Shadows of the City) and drove them off. Rob

Re: God Package... Well, I imagine all Olympians would have at least some life support and some fast healing. The Greek gods also shape changed constantly....so they'd probably have that as well. For those demi gods or half gods....you could probably leave that out. Heracles didn't shape change naturally. Rob

All depends on what you're looking for when you watch it. I'd rate it average overall myself, but then I'm a born movie critic. Hoever, even I found many moments to cheer in the film. Rob

Re: [Character Concept] Psychokinetic/Jedi Knight Ironically enough, I had a character in the last campaign I was in who had exactly that MO(mutant who thought he was a jedi). The lethality of his lightsaber got him into a LOT of trouble though, as he hurt people even while holding back. He put Dr. Megaton's son, Fusion, in the hospital, prompting dear old dad to hire Tachyon to "teach" him a lesson. Rob

Re: Dark Champions: The Animated Series Well, I just got it. Overall, I liked it. Some villains are usable regardless of points. Others would need beefing up in tougher campaigns, but the ideas are what count...and most of them are decent. Only Serpentine felt like a dog. Carnivore was pretty dang powerful for 315 points. A lot of the villans could also make a good supporting staff for standard campaign villans. Overall, pretty good, despite the lacking art. Rob

Re: Superman I'm not sure his stats should be affected by OIHID or not vs. Magic. There might be a case for weaker defenses vs. Magic, but otherwise I don't think magic would change Superman's stats at all. Rob

Hey all, I was just curious if anyone would care to comment on this release....without bringing up the art, which isn't a big concern of mine(and which has been discussed to death in another thread). I'm mainly concerned with content....and the book had a large number of NPC writeups....which I'd like to hear opinions on. Anyone have the book yet to comment?(Mine is on order.) Rob

Re: Pros/Cons of an 'official' campaign world I use a modified version of the Champions Universe. Thus, I get the best of both worlds. Use what I like and discard the rest. I do my own updates of 4th edition characters I like that haven't been officially updated. If they "officially" update them later, I compare the two versions and use the one I like best. Not much of a debate here really. You don't like something...you don't use it. Rob

Re: Eurostar is friggin' fast! Well, I think Bora was removed since Zephyr is a similiar character. Steve just didn't want to repeat. As for Pantera, not sure. Fenris sort of fits her "role", but my guess is Steve thought Pantera's origin and MO were outdated(since she had a Golden Age origin). The Whip....don't have a clue....as I'd have loved to see what they could have done with the "whip" weapon in 5th. The new Eurostar isn't too bad, but they lack the "holy s**t" feel you used to get from hearing their name brought up. Now, that honor goes to The Crowns of Krim. Eurostar I'd actually use in more subtle scenarios now. Fiacho is a genius afterall....and Eurostar fights on their own terms the vast majority of the time, as their background states. Rob

Re: Wiggling your way out- Entangle based on Dex Personally, issues like this are what Contortionist was designed for. If they had that skill...and the SPFX of the Entangle permitted, I'd allow them a chance to make a roll(with some penalties to be sure). Otherwise, I probably wouldn't let them do it unless the circumstances were unique. Rob
