Wormhole
You and your teammates recieved a hot tip as to the whereabouts of a major villain's lair (insert appropriate name here) in the campaign city and go to investigate. You find the lair but it looks like it's been abandoned for sometime. Just as you're about to leave, you notice one of the more impulsive junior members of your group staring at a blinking light on a nearby console with that what-does-this-button-do? look on their face. As you see them extend their finger toward a button on the console, you suddenly remember that the villain in question is notorious for setting rather lethal booby traps in any lair he's forced to abandon. What do you do?
Chuckg
Starguard -- "Don't touch that!" *puts a mini Force Wall over the switch* Doctor Pain -- "HEY! DON'T TOUCH THAT!" *makes a PRE attack* Baron von Darien -- /first/ he does the patented zip-across-the-room-and-grab-your-hand-before-you-saw-him-move(*), /then/ he delivers the ass-chewing. (*) Vampire.
Cybernaut
Grab them, pull them away from the console, and then read them the riot act.
farik
Husky is probably the one about to push the button. But he would wait until the rest of the team was clear. There is a chance his better judgement would kick in if someone else noticed him and/or the button, and he'd use a modified clarkebot to investigate the button but odds are he'll just wait for the others to leave and then push the button. After all what good is being nearly invulnerable if you don't get to try and staredown the occasional deadly booby trap.
Metaphysician
Microman II would probably be reciting known information about the villain in question, and be the first one to realize the tendency towards lethal boobytraps. However, he'd probably not do anything other than advise against touching the button.
Guest WhammeWhamme
Flippant... probably didn't notice. He's like that. He'd probably tackle anyone if he made the EGO AND PER rolls... Wraith: A ghost catches their hand... then he asks around about what the button does. Hyperman: ('cause he's SO MUCH FUN to RP) ZOOM! Stops the button pressing at sublight speeds. Dignified Speech about 'Proper Caution'. Ruins it by breaking off in midsentence to go try and seduce someone he spotted out of the corner of his eye. Pattern Ghost
Most of mine would be the one pressing the button...
Bengal
There's something to be said for pushing buttons. In this case, the thing that can be said is, "Don't push that button."
Blue
I can't imagine anyone on the team who wouldn't at least think twice with a shouted "Don't do that" warning. The characters are funny and impulsive, sure, but not insane.
Marcus Impudite
If the above is any indication, this junior team member isn't very smart. So after I stop them from (presumably) getting us all killed, I'll ask the team leader why he/she insists on bring the little idiot with us on important missions. Outsider
Vizzini-man would think to himself "Ah, but Villain X is very clever! Clever enough that he might have set up the booby trap so that leaving -without- pushing the button is what causes it to go off! But he is also clever enough to realize that we know he is clever...." (BOOOM!)
lemming
Scales: With his 8 dex, he probably just has time to think "What a moron." There will probably be plenty of pieces to put the newbie back together though... Calico: She'll break the button pushing finger. Spectrum: Forcewall around button and then a stern lecture to the button pusher. Gee, I wonder who that would be... Nighthawk: A quick tackle of the person trying to push the button. Vex
Hmmmm, let's see.... Adrenaline wouldn't touch the button and probably wouldn't notice it. Realm would call the bomb squad and have them investigate it. Hecabus would wait until everyone looked at him and then would start to taunt the group with a wild gleam in his eye. Of course, he would push it right after he promised not to. =]
BoneDaddy
Whats the point of having 12" of stretching and a martial grab if you won't use your tentacles once in a while. Grab, grab, entangle, entangle, hoist, slap gently (I assume a mind control is at work - the FNG can't REALLY be that stupid.) Read the FNG's mind, find out if how much and what sort of control has been initiated. If none, correct. If some, repeat step six above as necessary. sethwolffe
Shield, not being the fastest brink on the field would try to stop him and cover the moron to protect him if he's too late. Whisper would likely shoot the fool in someplace that might grow back. Of course, one can never forget the best instructions given to the Tick by some alien bent on taking over the World "Don't touch the Don't Button!" Farkling
Jet - plasma blast the console while shouting "stop you idiot!" If the trap doesn't go off, the FNG is now the responsibility of the person who has been told to fire him. Lighnin':: ZIP. "What are you doing?" ZAP. Disentegrates metallic chassis of console and begins tracing wiring. "Never ever push a button in *insert villainguy name here* 's abandoned lairs. You have no idea how deadly his coverup traps are!" ZootSoot
Gangway uses her Transform/Change Environment power to completely disassemble the console before FNG can depress the button. Armando snatches FNG away from the console Crimson Tide Telekinetically freezes the button Sword Dancer throws a sword into the panel, disconnecting the button Luna makes one of her notorious intuitions and yells "Hit the button now, or this place is gonna blow!"
