farik
The Day the Earth Stood Still An Alien FLying Saucer has landed and announced the Earth must unify under one government of its choice within 24 hours or the world will be destroyed. As a demonstration of power all electrical systems (except life sustaining ones) are simultaneaously frozen across the globe for 1 hour. It's 23 hours till the deadline. What will your character do? Metaphysician
I deploy along with every other super available to kick the aliens out of our damn solar system. It wouldn't take more than some cursory thought to realize that such an attempt to force unity is, at best, a show of malicious disregard for others. Guest WhammeWhamme
Flippant: Look for a lead to follow. This is too big. Wraith: Simultaneously work on throwing back the aliens and fulfilling the agenda. He KNOWS what happens to the dead, and he DOESN'T know whether the aliens can be stopped. He knows that the world needs unification, and is humble enough to admit that they might be saving our bacon, at the last minnit, in the only way possible... Vex
Hmmmm, let's see.... Adrenaline and Realm would both join up with the large group of supers (both heroes and villans) that would take the lead in destroying the aliens. Hecabus would make sure he wasn't an alien of that race, then he would try to unite the world under his rule or under the rule of King Kain. If he couldn't lead and then see how he could stop the invasion.
Supreme Serpent
Omega: Politely inform the aliens that the world already is unified under the United Nations, and we have deliberately chosen this loose organization. Then request that they either stick around for the UN to tally up the economic costs of their little stunt and present them the bill, or they can take a hike back to the Andromeda galaxy or wherever they come from, and don't come back till they learn some manners. Cat-man: try to sneak aboard the ship and see who's really behind this, get info to help defeat them.
Pulsar
Pulsar would, hour 1 contact alien ship, see who is behind this. Check with government contacts and see what caused power outage. Hour 2. If ship is alien, and outage did not origionate on planet. Patrol local space looking for more alien ships. Hour 4. contact other Heros and villian groups to prepare to kick the @##$% out of aliens if they exist. including finding the best magnetic based or electrical based hero and have them do an emp on our visitor and have the strongest brick toss the big fresbee. Glen Sprigg
Comet and Archangel would take the lead with other JLA-level heroes, go up into space and start playing kickball with the spaceship. Snowbird would have his team working to minimize rioting and looting in the city. Shadowhawk would likely do the same, after insuring his computer files were intact. Glen (now a Standard Hero! Woo-hoo!)
Blue
Uncle Slam: Play for time. He would go with the delegation that are there to tell the aliens that the countries of the world will NOT unite under one government; they will never agree to such a thing. He will protect the dignitaries and give the heroes of the world the opportunity to ogranize their attack forces should it become necessary. He'll never let the U.S. bow to some other country and he'll likely not allow the rest of the world to bend over either unless the are unanimously willing (and that will never happen). Anthem: Will contact the local heroes. Some things are too big for her. She would act as a part of their force. Audra Blue: Will pull in all her contacts and with the aid of a hero who can help her control her agoraphobia for short periods, she would go with a team of heroes into the space ship where she would attempt to seize their computer systems with a hands on, non-"independance day" method of bringing them down. But all would then prepare earth forces...because this won't be the last ship of its kind, certainly.
The Watcher
Warp: *Points at Isvatha V'Han's forces as they gather for an impending invasion*1 "See those guys? They're coming for you too. So quit wasting our time and start coordinating with the rest of this universe's defense forces to repel them, ok." 1. This is actually in the process of happening in the campaign.
Chuckg
*Isvatha V'Han sticks her head out of the saucer* "Oh, darn! So much for sneaking up on them this time!"
Victim
Step 1: Scry the inside of the alien ship to catch a glimpse or the aliens and identify them. With an indirect telepathy effect, touch the aliens' minds so that they can be recognized later on. Step 2: Megascale universe searching to discern the location of their homeword. Create a teleport spell to get there. Step 3: Aim super range and area spells at Mars until one is found to be suitably viscous. Step 4: Recover mana and set up some new spells if needed. Step 5: Explain to the intruders that any hostile action here will be met by an attack on their home areas. If in a dominant bargining position, demand that they the intruders leave, and dissolve their nation/empire into no fewer than X (some large, semi random number) independent entities. Just because. BoneDaddy
Marshall Becker & Marshall McGuyver know this is a trap - it's in complete violation of Galactic Federation protocol for interaction with pre-warp cultures. If these invaders are indeed aliens, they will be hostile to GF Marshalls. Big trouble. Chances are, any one on Earth in authority will be reluctant to give us an audience (we aren't sure about the Area 51 rumors, but we sure aren't eager to find out) at this juncture. Still, we need to get aboard the vessel, and take 'em out. This is the inevitable "enemy of my enemy" story arc, where we get the Bokor we usually fight to magic us into the craft with some of his minions. Craptacular. A stealth mission, supported by Loa and Baron Samedi and an army of zombies to order around the spaceship. Space never seemed so creepy. Zombies are not invisible to motion sensors, but they are invisible to IR, and bioscans. Unlike droids, EMP won't stop 'em, and flamethrowers are a bad idea in close quarters. Should be a kick. "Set phasers on disintegrate. Kill is redundant." Just as inevitably, the ship would be damaged beyond repair and we would remain stranded on this godforsaken rock. And the zombies would attack us (inevitable double-cross at the end of the inevitbale "enemy of my enemy" arc) as the ship hurtled out of control over the Gulf of Mexico. Badger
Prepare to battle the aliens. He would believe that forcing others into such a subjucation would be in itself evil (regardless of aliens attempt). Basically believing that it is humanity's right to destroy themselves if they wish and no outside alien force has the right to interfere(kind of a Prime Directive if you will). After organizing team (and possible other super teams) for a battle, would then fight (for better or worse). If he dies he at least dies for a good cause (fighting tyranny). Note: As noted before his father was from outer space could make an interesting plot (as in these were the aliens father ran from or to that effect)
zakueins
Ghost Sniper would start taking pot-shots at the aliens. Hell, for all she knows, this might be the reason she exists. StarGuard (think a mixture of Green Lantern and summonable powered armor) would take his sword, and knock LOUDLY on the door of the saucer. "Hello there, I am the local represenative of the CORE Authority in this sector. Do you realize just how many regs you're breaking? Let's start by exposing a Fission society to at least Antimatter+ technology, illicit sociological engineering, possible use of planet-busting weapons on inhabited worlds without a declared Contract of War. You're going to be lucky if I just kill you slowly, so why don't you just surrender now and I promise a fair trial before I slice you into little pieces."
