archermoo
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Yea' date=' you guys pretty much took all of the rain we needed.[/quote'] Yeah, I heard from my brother (who is still in Folsom) that none of it made it up there. For that matter, not much of it made it out to Concord either, though I was actually in San Fran for a good part of that day, where it did rain for most of the day. At least while I was there/here... Mantis
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Autumn's here' date=' but the rains haven't started yet.[/quote']Spring's here, but the rains haven't started yet. Which makes it just like Winter so far, only warmer. So much warmer that Fire Season started early here in South Australia. In fact we have already had our first major bushfire. Also known as "fall". It's that time between the hot and cold.Where Bazza lives, there are only three seasons, "Dry", "Troppo", and "Wet". None of them are cold . Bazza
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Also known as "fall". It's that time between the hot and cold. Dumb question, I'm sure, but do leaves change color where you are? maybe, never really considered it. The time between hot and 'sticky-hot' we call the "build up" as it is building up to the monsoon. None of them are cold .[/quote'] Close, we only have the Wet (monsoon) and Dry (not monsoon season). Each lasts for 6 months. "Go Troppo" or "Going Troppo" is feeling dazed or confused about the weather and doing silly and stupid stuff. It usually occurs during the "Build Up" to the monsoon (cyclone) season. What is this four season nonsense you all talk about?

Bazza
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER no season. The weathermen have it easy. six months it is "Fine." the other six months it is "Fine, with the possibility of thunder storms." Except if there is a cyclone close by, in which the weathermen have to do their jobs.

RPMiller
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER So I came home from work and discovered my son and daughter... playing D&D!! I bought my son (11) the Dungeons and Dragons Basic Set miniatures game a week ago and haven't been able to play it with him. He kept begging me to play, but I never had time so he finally convinced my daughter (12) to play. He has taken on the job of GM and my daughter is playing the halfling rogue. It makes a geek dad proud. The next step will be convincing them to learn the Hero System.

He/She's so young their eyes are still blue. Actually, I've determined that we can't tell how old Risu is, because her eyes are STILL blue. She's a blue-eyed kitty, apparently. I understand that sometimes is linked to deafness. But her hearing seems fine. Nope. The mother abandoned this kitten (Hollister) so we are feeding with kitty milk through a dropper. Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Some blue-eyed white cats are deaf, but not all of them. (We had one who was not deaf.) I didn't think blue-eyedness in other fur colors had the same linkage.
