Re: "Neat" Pictures

I like it. Very minimalist.

Oh' date=' good. I'm not the only one.[/quote']

I'd say sub-minimalist.

The palindromedary ponders the point where the minimum becomes "too little."

Believe me, considering the other posts he's made, we've come out ahead in this thread.

Sometimes, a contribution of zero is a positive contribution. ;)

Re: "Neat" Pictures

The story I got with the picture:

READ FIRST

>>I happened to be out in the back yard, watching a storm on Friday

>>Night 14/01/05), that appeared to be a few km away, (I live in Old

>>Toongabbie, and the storm appeared to be in Pendle Hill, or

>>Greystanes).

>>

>>I set the camera's settings so that the shutter remained open for four

>>seconds, placed it on the back bumper of my car, hoping to get a

>>few

>>shots of lightning in the clouds a few km's away.

>>

>>There was no rain at all, and stars could be seen over the north 1/3

>>of the sky, so I did not feel in danger in any way, boy was I

>>mistaken......

>>DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE ELECTRICAL STORMS, YOU COULD GET YOURSELF

>>KILLED!!!!

>>

>>I clicked away a few times, and got nothing, and then clicked the

>>button again, and within 0.5 seconds of me pressing the button, I had

>>jumped at

>>least 2 metres in the air, as I heard a tremendously loud crack

>>of

>>thunder, and saw this amazingly bright beam of electricity right

>>in

>>front of me. I then landed, grabbed the camera, and was inside

>>the house

>>within 2 seconds.

I don't think this has been here before. The description: The following is a picture taken of camels in the desert. It is considered one of the best pictures of the year (2005). Look closely, the camels are the little white lines in the picture. The black you see is just the shadows!

Re: "Neat" Pictures

Here are the results of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

There is a heading called "Adult Awards". Under that heading, the winner of "Animal Behaviour: All Other Animals" is "Common Toad Orgy". No, I am not making this up.

Paraphrasing slightly, the shooting of that scene was interrupted by the photographer being included in the orgy. :nonp:

Nevertheless, this is a safe-for-work link.

That is really cool! I don't think I've ever seen a picture like it.
