CrosshairCollie
Re: Patriotic Heroes I recall someone (DC?) having Major Victory. Part of the Force of July, IIRC. Marvel, actually, I think ... they recycled the name for Vance Astro (Guardians of The Galaxy) once he got his containment suit off. Side note, someone once played a character named Force of July in a game I was in ... it was a cross between Captain America and The Tick. Lord Liaden
Re: Patriotic Heroes You're both right. DC used the name for a character before Marvel, but Marvel did give it to Vance Astro, probably after the death of DC's character freed up the name. Link To keep the theme of the characters that Major Freedom (heh!) has already devised, you'd just need to add nouns that reflect qualities popularly associated with the United States. "Liberty," "Justice" and "Unity" all come to mind, but there are undoubtedly other appropriate ones.

Major Force is great for a kinetic or velocity controller. Yes, he's a DC baddie, but I wouldn't let that stop me. Major Glory is a great name as well. General Justice has a weird alliterative thing working for it, but it misses IMHO. Maybe... Major Force: Marine Force Recon (?) As for the rest, it depends on how negative you're willing to let the descriptors go. Willingham had a Commander Chaos in the Elementals run. Do you have power sets in mind? Susano
Re: Patriotic Heroes Let's see... Private Parts Corporal Punishment Captain (fill in the blank, just about anything works with "Captain") Commander (fill in the blank, just about anything works with "Commander") Major Force Major Glory Major Victory Major (and so on) General Chaos General Mayhem General (and so on) Okay, so few of these were serious.... Or just Der Adler (The Eagle)? Schwarz-Rot-Gold (Black-Red-Yellow - The Teutonic Triblings)? Vaterland (Fatherland)? Hauptmann Hoffnung (Captain Hope)? Einigkeit (Unity), Recht (Justice) and Freiheit (Freedom) [three heroes]? Hauptmann Schwarz-Rot-Gold (Capt. Black-Red-Gold]? Arkham
Re: Patriotic Heroes Somewhere I recall an independent comic starring 'the Americommando' - AC maybe? The Americommando was actually DC. Originally called Tex Thompson, he first appeared with Zatara and Superman in Action Comics #1.
