Suggest a Name?

I'm drawing a blank here. Anyone willing to suggest a name for a heroic Kabbalah themed planetary magician? Some that I've played with:

Zodiac, Doc Zodiac (too serial killer-ish)

Astrolabe (sounds vaguely like a lubricant gel or car service place)

The Astronomer (too Wildcards)

Kabbalah (been used in the old CU)

Intern Weird (too silly)

Arcane, Doc Arcane (overused)

Enigman (too 70s TV Super)

You might want to PM/e-mail Dean Shomshank, that seems to be his balliwick (if the Ulimate Mystic or Arcane Adversaries are any indication)

Re: Suggest a Name?

Baal Zohar, "Master of Splendour" or "Master of Radiance."

Possibly name him after a great scholar of the past - like Menachem Nahum (sp?)

And I hope those who know the topic better than I will forgive me if have scrambled something in my ignorance.

Lucius Alexander

The palindromedary suggests

Dr. Sator

Satori

Master Tenet

Master Arepo

Lessee ... old astrology words ...

Ascendant

Trine

the ever-popular Syzygy

This is more orbital mechanics than astrology, but you could give him a split personality and the two halves refer to themselves as "True Anomaly" and "Mean Anomaly" respectively.

Re: Suggest a Name?

A quick look on an online dictionary gives this:

  1. often Kabbalah A body of mystical teachings of rabbinical origin, often based on an esoteric interpretation of the Hebrew Scriptures.
  2. A secret doctrine resembling these teachings.

How about Rabbi as a name? The Teacher? Scripture?
