Because she's "kewl."? I still can't figure out why Storm keeps getting ranked as high as she does, she just isn't drawn that pretty and neither is her character all that good IMO. But tastes vary, I guess. TB
OddHat
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females Jonni Future - Absolutely. Great heroine and stories in the Silver Age Space Adventure style, and hotter than a very hot thing what is hot. Zatanna - A classic, and usually written as a class act. Well spotted. Vampirella - Her entire publishing history has straddled horror, superheroics and soft core porn, almost always great kinky cheesecake art, so agreed. Power Girl - Awooga. Surprised she didn't make the #1 slot. Wonder Woman - Yup, always a hottie. The rest range from "not so much" to, in the case of X-23, "What the hell were they thinking?" Spidey88
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females MJ should totally be on that list. The MU's best-known supermodel? Hello! Still, I guess she's not technically a superheroine...
Powerhouse
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females Not a bad list (I loved the comments on Black Cat) but I'm surprised that they didn't have more mainstream choices like Catwoman, Batgirl, Rogue, and Supergirl. No Starfire... THAT'S just a CRIME!
Hermit
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females If Lois Lane gets on that list, and powers aren't required, then MJ should surely be on it. X-23? OddHat
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females If Lois Lane gets on that list, and powers aren't required, then MJ should surely be on it. Well, Lois has actually had a long list of powers over the years. Not Jimmy Olsen level (Legion of Jimmy Olsen might be an interesting group theme), but most of the Superman family got powered up now and then. OTOH, that stripper from Sin City made it on, and she's not even all that well drawn, so yeah, MJ should be there.

Enforcer84
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females If yer gonna call Lois hot, show pictures of her hot. I did like Wonder Woman's caption "Superman and Batman are afraid to touch her magic lasso of truth lest one of them blurt out "Threesome!" Enforcer84
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females Oh and there was a distinct lack of redheads there. No MJ, Jean Grey, or Batgirl.
Susano
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females No Urd, either, who might just be the hottest woman in manga. Either her, or Revy. Although Kanu is way up there as well.

Logan D. Hurricanes
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females Whilst I do tend to disagree with some of these picks* I'd like to draw some attention to the sidekicks article further down the page. Those are fun too, and just as debatable. (Although, I think they nailed #1) *Never saw Jonni Future before... hotcha mama!
Super Squirrel
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females Maxim, showing the world just how much it has run out of ideas from objectifying women moves to comic books instead. Why am I not surprised? When I first heard of this list, I stopped to think about who I would rate comic book women. I couldn't place them. Because when I look at my comics, I'm not looking at hotness, I'm looking at the character and the story. Here were the five comic women I immediately thought of and why. Carol Danvers - Really cool character who puts anyone in her place (up until Civil War at which point in time she became Stark's... well you know what I mean). Wonder Woman - Amazon Princess sent to spread the Amazon world into the man's world. Has had recent struggles with such a mission and is working desperately to overcome them. Supergirl - Despite her whinny, immature state she has been in lately, she has started to show some growth. I wonder where she is going. And I'll rule out the writing of her in Brave and the Bold #2 as someone unfamiliar with her character. Montoya - ? Need I say anymore. Natasha Irons - Didn't listen to dad, had to learn the lesson the hard way, now is getting a second chance and I'm excited to see what happens with it. Even to this very moment, I can't think of a female in comics I find "hotter" than others. I just don't look at comics that way.

[snip] Even to this very moment, I can't think of a female in comics I find "hotter" than others. I just don't look at comics that way. Whereas I'd say that character and story are essential elements of hotness for me. Power Girl isn't just hot because she's drawn well (though I love good art in my comics); Power Girl is hot because she's noble, brave, sexually confident, and looking for herself and her place in the world. Heroine and lost girl in one, plus a killer body; it doesn't get much hotter than that.
Rapier
Re: Maxim's Hottest Comic Females Obviously, I don't necessarily rate the women of comicdom on hotness either. I'm a story-kind of guy. I would have included: MJ - partly for her strength of character Rogue - again, imagine being unable to even touch another human being and not taking a leap off a bridge Black Cat - just a lot of fun as a character Catwoman - so much interesting backstory, villain - hero - villain - hero WonderWoman - she's been kicking butt for freakin-EVAR! Psylocke - cmon, she was a pale lil british gal who got stuck in a NINJA's body. how cool is that? Black Widow - just wicked cool Moira MacTaggart - not much to look at, and more picture on the wall than character but she DID get into Charlie's pants. She-Hulk - big and green, the litigation queen! plus, who else talks to the reader? that's about all I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more. Personally, I've always hated Clairmont for Ninjifying Psilocke, I mean, he was basically saying that one of the most beautiful women in the world wouldn't come from the UK. We need to Asianate this girl pronto! Stupid Clairmont. and Golden Age, Phantom Lady is teh hotness.
