Cool Guns for your Games

Get the stainless, then Cerakote with a blue. Not as nice as bluing, but a lot tougher and less likely to corrode.

I wish I could have bought a Medusa, I don't know how well they really worked, though. If it worked, the ultimate post apocalypse gun!

I want the finish more than the corrosion resistance. I have a lot of hard wearing guns, would like one that could be both pretty as high polish blueing and as wear resistant as melinite or however that's spelled.

Medusa sounded cool. Only read about it, never seen one in person. Supposedly charter has one that is a little similar (9mm, .38/.357 all in one with no moon clips needed) but I haven't checked that or either. Might be worth it if you're interested.

Double barreled bullpup shotgun. Looks like someone saw the KSG and decided it would be better with two barrels...

Fires one barrel and then the other with another trigger press and then you rack it for two more. Seems interesting, though bulky, but not really that much more than a KSG, I suppose, besides the weight. I'd say good game gun, perhaps good HD gun. Funky. =)

Surely it has a setting to allow you to give your adversary both barrels?

This is where I'm confused... Isn't that technically illegal if more than one round can be touched off at once? I'm not sure, the double 1911 makes me think not... I dunno.

I would love the ability to touch both off at once. I imagine the recoil would be significant. The one-two punch seems useful.

No idea.  It sounds as though double barreled shotguns would be illegal if they fired both barrels with the pull of one trigger, but most such shotguns either have two triggers or can only fire one barrel at a time.  The 1911 is even more fuzzy--you can get it with two triggers and independent sears, or with the triggers welded together and separate sear groups.

I feel like the BATF wouldn't throw the book at you for either one since the intent of the regulation is surely to prevent automatic weapons fire as opposed to simultaneous multibarrel fire... but on the other hand, it's the BATF.

Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Fillet of a fenny snake,

in the cauldron boil and bake.

Eye of newt and toe of frog,

Wool of bat and tongue of dog.

Adder's fork and blindworm's sting,

lizard's leg and howlet's wing.

Then I think we repeat the cauldron lines.

edit: Remembered the lizard line.

I don't understand what the telescoping round is... looks interesting, but I don't get it.

this talks about the initial program.  check page 8 in particular.  Somehow I lost a long reply from my phone, so here is a quickie

The bullet and propellant are both inside the cartridge case.   Many of the caseless designs were similar, but they added their own problems, though they were even smaller and lighter. .

When the primer fires, it pushes the bullet out of the case, into the neck or Leade of the chamber.   The actual propellant burns in the now larger volume available.   The benefits are less volume, less mass, and simplified handling of the cartridge.

Some say that there are serious problems with throat erosion and other issues, but I have not seen mention of that except in the versions from 15 years or more ago.

Nearly as much mass can be saved by using a conventionally shaped case made of polymer with an aluminum head/ base of the case.   Another one that saves over 20% mass is an aluminum head/base with a thin walled stainless steel body on it.

DTIC has LOTS of interesting stuff, a lot of powerpoint presentations for big conferences.

It's called Sprite and it's a modular drone that folds up to around the size of a Thermos.

able to be flown either with a remote or via way points or automated search routines mounting a 1 or 2 axis camera.

I can't stop thinking of the possibilities of a militarised or Law Enforcement equipped version.

Imagine it with Thermographic cameras acting as overwatch for building assaults or for searching for runners after a car chase or a slightly larger version mounting a cluster of smart bomblets similar to the 25mm system from the OICW with air-burst, impact and timed fusing settings as  back pack air support.
