Neat, but I'm pretty sure you'd need a laser(and battery) a couple orders of magnitude(at least) more powerful in order to make it a viable small arms weapon, unless you just want to set stuff on fire or blind people.

like I said, lets wait a few years.

Here is a DERRINGER (!) chambered in .45-70.

One of my dad's friend got a .45-70 derringer in the late 80s or early 90s.   He fired it ONCE.   one of the grip scales came off in his hand.    It was repaired and either put in the safe or sold, I can't remember which.     Another friend asked my dad to test fire a Taurus titanium .41 magnum snubnose.revolver.   It took two people to get through a 5 shot cylinder.
