Dare I ask the question - what would happen to the Dude with the Thing if no one wanted it? The safer and cheaper route would be to wait until the early adopters have paid a premium for the Thing and then pick it up cheap on ebay. The instructions are clear: Kill the Dude, TAKE the Thing; not 'wait for the Thing to show up on eBay.' This is why the list of hirelings in fantasy RPG's doesn't include an entry for 'personal shopper.' Can we get a little genre enforcement here?
