Re: Create a Hero Theme Team!

Flamebreaker fled to this reality to escape what he claimed were demons tearing apart his world. Unfortunately for him, he led them right to Earth -- and they killed his non-powered counterpart. Ravaged with guilt, Flamebreaker (a sorcerer specializing in pyromancy) has assumed his double's identity (including becoming a husband and father -- a life he never allowed himself to have.) Now he's decided it's time to stop running and fight back -- but what will happen if his new family ever finds out the truth? And just what exactly happened to those he left behind?

Right, that was 6.

New Team: The SuperCandidates

Number: 5

Themes: These (American) heroes were all solo performers -- until they all separately got it in their heads that they should run for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! Of course, since the Democrats and Republicans already have their guys, they want nothing to do with these well-meaning heroes. However, there's a lot of fringe parties out their who'd LOVE to have a hero front for them! And, since this is politics, even the truest-bluest hero might indulge in a little mudslinging against their fellow caped candidates. When posting a SuperCandidate, list also which independent third party is backing them.

The Professor

He candiates for the Libertarian Party, epsecially thier non-religious wing.

He is know for the use of power armors and just for this occasion he has craeted a new armor, themed after hte "Flying Spaghetti Monster". It features superstrong, super-durable "noodly apendages" that allow him to grab enemies on range.

It wasn't his first idea, but he realised that the "Invisble Pink Unicorn" Armor would not really make him easy to feature in media (because of the "inivisble"-part).

And he still has the plan for this Armor powered by an interaction with Russell's teapot - if it exists.

Captain Crewcut might seem like an odd choice for the Grassroots Party. He's fiscally conservative, pro-military (they were the ones that gave him his supersoldier powers in the first place) and anti-gun control. But he's firmly in favor of legalizing medical marijuana and generally easing off the War on Drugs, as he feels it has criminalized an entire generation of young men.

The Comrade

Is a telpath. As his name sugest, he is backed by several Socialist/Communist parties.

He is a telepath that get's stronger when he is sorrounded by people who suport him. Wich also makes him somewhat aware of thier problems.

He never forget's that he is nothing without the people or the plights of the little man and thus an ideal choice for these groups and thier ideals (at least those who do take the "all are equal" part real).

Darrick Direction has world reach teleport and clariscientiance. He is known character with both public ID and reputation. As a super whose powers were exposed early in his life, many did not trust him and often accused him of stealing when anything from a fork to the crown jewels wound up missing. Derrick has had to work to hard prove his honor. He as represented himself as himself are asks others do likewise when they vote to give up the secret ballot and vote openly so that the public can publicly verify the vote count.

Re: Create a Hero Theme Team!

Iris (a butter fly flaps it's wings in china)

flight: 40 m

Gust of Wind 20 m Flight Usable against others area of effect line mobile (moves with the air it carries) last 1 turn

Effect moves Iris also though she may leave the stream as anyone else caught in the jet

Characters in contact with a surface are moved by 10m in the stream unless they brace

If two streams should cross, a telekinetic whirl wind is summoned

If three streams should cross, a tornado is born

Iris has spacial sense via the air velocities around her. She has a deep appreciation for the subtle and unique (which extends to mutants). She is more likrly to consider suggestions than follow commands. A restless force in promoting diversity. She is like to throw nob sequiturs to stir the pot.

Re: Create a Hero Theme Team!

Stand-In is nigh-unkillable (scientists think a nuke might do the trick,) but is otherwise not powered. However, he discovered that he had a knack for disguise and acting, and got the top training he could afford. He's the Human Targets' undercover man, often impersonating people under threat of assassination to draw the would-be killers out.

Re: Create a Hero Theme Team!

Amy Reynolds always thought of her as just your typical woman on the go. She had no superpowers, or special skills. Just an active work and social life that took her all ofver the city. THe only odd thing was how many times supervillians ttargeted her at a battle. If they needed a hostage, they grabbed her. If they needed a distraction, they targeted where she was standing. It happened every time. When a supervillian raced past twenty other people to grab her and threaten to kill her if ythe heros didn't back off, she realized something else. No0thing bad ever happened to her.

No matter how vicious a killer grabbed her, no matter how much danger was directed at her weither the heroes saved her or not she would never be hurt. She can't explain it, but she knows what to do with this for lack of a better term ability. She became the undercover member of the Human Targets. Whenever they get involved with a crowd they just let Amy mingle with it. Then they don't have to worry about the bystanders because, Hostage Girl will be the one targeted. And the poor villian will never know what hit them if they actually try to harm her.

Mr. Nowhere

Some people phase shift, making them intangible. Some use magical means to avoid damage. Some learn the ultimate Dodging Technique, making them impossible to hit.

Nowhere learned the Magical means and the Dodging Technique. Before he became a Ghost. Needless to say, he is frustratingly hard to hit or grab. And since he can also cast Illusions over himself to apprear tangible, he has been a valuable asset:

While Stand-in covers from targets of assasiantion, he covers for targets of abduction.

Re: Create a Hero Theme Team!

Team member no 5 of 6 is

Living Cadaver

By all rights he should be dead ! But he isn't ! He leaps into the way of streams of bullets ! Throws himself on knives ! And if someone gets pushed off a building, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be him !

He tends to regenerate slowly like. Even from decapitation or arms missing or being burned or from long falls of buildings. Otherwise he is unremarkable. Normal strength etc. It does tend to bother the others as to the nature of the soul as LC has come back several times from certain death. However he thinks that there is a purpose yet to be revealed which he is being saved for.

Re: Create a Hero Theme Team!

Martin McCoy is The Medic. He is there to help heal the injured (well, outside of Living Cadaver) and tend to the wounded -- hero and villain alike. Since the man is a pacifist and due to his reputation of healing anyone regardless of what "hat" they wear, the bad guys have an unspoken agreement not to touch him or even try to kidnap him. Let's just say the last mook that tried to grab him got thwomped righteously by his boss afterwards.

McCoy is fascinated by LC's condition and in his spare time he is doing whatever he can to (respectively) study him and make sure his pain isn't unbearable.

New Team: The Teen Skeptics

Number: Five. They are made up of two young men, two young women and their normal appearing animal pet that may or may not actually talk.

Theme: The Teen Skeptics make their reputation thwarting crimes of a supposed supernatural/paranormal nature. It's funny that even in this modern day and age how many people get fooled by special effects and rubber masks. Lately however, a few cases have been a bit harder to handwave away and explain rationally...

(Yes, they're a rip-off of Scooby-Doo :eg:)

Re: Create a Hero Theme Team!

Ed Soams was working as a ghopher on a movie set over the summer, helping the special effects department. One night he wandered away from the set when a meteor crashed nearbybathing him in a strange radiation. Suddenly Ed could create semi solid flashes of light. At first he could only project a blinding flash. And whuile he hasn't learned to attack with them yet, he can make some people drowsy, put up defensive fields, and kinda fly. Though it is highly recomended he stay near the ground for when the light trail becomes more semi than solid.

Returning home with some money for college he returned home and started calling himself the Flasher. He realizes there is some problem with the name. But for some odd reason when he called himself Flash, people yelled he coukldn't call himself that, and lawyers chased him. HJHe's trying to think of a differtnt way of using Flash in his name.

One day the city was made the center of wqhat seemed to be a demonic invasion. However Ed remembered what he had learned over the summer, and got behind the tricks to find Mirage was orchestrating the whole thing. He also found an odd skunk in a lab. THe odd thing was it hjad a green stripe. He let it out of its cage and started fighting Mirage. She had the upper hand until the skunk came from nowhere and sprayed her. Flasher turned her over to the authorities, and took the skunk he named Martian home.
