Re: Where do gangsters get pool babes?

"Originally, I was hired as a pool babe, but then they had an opening as a henchman. They were like, but we never had a female henchman before. I showed them that I had a black belt in karate and a lot of experience with guns and getaway driving, but they still weren't having it. Eventually, I threatened them with a lawsuit. Do you know that they had several henchmen who had no formal training at all? Some of those guys were so lame that I can see why the boss was always killing them when they messed up. Anyway, I caught the boss' eye, and he moved me up to Lieutenant. I just had to get an eyepatch and work on my menacing gestures and threats. He wanted me to stand out when the heroes were around and threaten their families and stuff. So far it's great. I even have my own theme music now. It's not long, just a few chords, but how cool is that? I'm only worried because the guy who had the gig before me died fighting some schmuck on top of a crane or something. It pays well, but no one seems to last more than a couple of years. My mom hates it. She says I should have just been a gun moll like she was back in the day."

"Eventually though, I did make Nest Leader."

;) Have some rep.

Re: Where do gangsters get pool babes?

Cost: 8 End: 4

Bimbos: Summon 16 50-point creatures, Friendly (+1/4) (37 Active Points); Extra Time (1 Hour, Only to Activate, -1 1/2), OAF (Wad of Cash; -1), Arrives Under Own Power (-1/2), Summoned Being Must Inhabit Locale (-1/2)

Also 1 Timothy 3:2-3

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

Excellent!

But I think that the modifiers are to the base cost, not the 5 pt doublings.

From a Variable Babe Pool, of course.

Lucius Alexander

The palindromedary observes that the Control Cost is surprisingly steep

"Why don't you girls all get in the pool?"; -1/2), Physical Manifestation (Because it IS packed with babes; -1/4)

Nice Scenery: Change Environment (-4 Characteristic Roll and all Skill Rolls based on Characteristic, Long-Lasting 1 Day, Varying Combat Effects), Personal Immunity (+1/4), Area Of Effect (8m Radius; +1/2) (70 Active Points); 3 Charges (-1 1/4), Limited Power Only effects justifiable based on babes (-1/2), Physical Manifestation (But who would want to hurt the babes?; -1/4), Variable Limitations (requires -1/2 worth of Limitations; Usually either Extra Time, or Conditional: must have some babes around already; -1/4)

Naked Advantage: Line Of Sight (+1/2) for up to 3 Active Points (1 Active Points)

Note: Seeing them naked is one of the great advantages of a Variable Babe Pool...

Orgy: Swinging 1m, Uncontrolled (Completely wild and out of control!; +1/2) (1 Active Points); Extra Time (5 Minutes, Only to Activate, To get the party started; -1), Required Multiple Users ([3-4] people; Sort of by definition....; -1/2)

Note: Oh wait, not THAT kind of swinging....

Edit: Thought of one more possibility: Her Own Car/Her Own Place ("Let's hang out at your place for a while...") a Summon Vehicle or Base.

Re: Where do gangsters get pool babes?

The question is how do they get pool babes. I think you need to look at how they got the pool, the money, the guys who sort out the babes from the undesirables and then we can see the pool babes. There are many girls who trade their beauty for parties when hot, young and foolish. The gangster has to reach a level of crime where he has the underlings that are sending him the money so he can have the place. If not, the place would be under constant surveillance by the cops. The gangster then needs to have the underlings that are not involved in getting money through crime to provide a secure environment. You can't do this when your bodyguards are wanted felons that the cops keep arresting. The amounts of money you are taking from the top must be enough that you can afford all the extras. There can't be someone up the food chain that you are paying money to so you can't afford all this.

Any A-hole can throw a beach party in a college town or area that would fill with young hot babes with the right recruiters. The pool babes have to be introduced and brought to a gangster since they need to be screened for cops and informants. If the cops deputize a couple of porn stars, we would see an end to the gangster culture after it was known they might be informants. It would actually work if the cops could turn a couple of porn stars who wanted to vanish forever in the witness protection program. Break a few large crime rings and destroy the idea of the gangster or crimelord with hundreds of pool babes.

For all these reason I think pool babes are usually a very trusted girl who is procuring the rest, like a stripper or porn star bringing their friends. Otherwise, all would fall apart since too much would be known outside the criminal group.

True, but it wouldn't necessarly be something bought via the Pool.

Besides, I'm already pushing the limits of what can be justified under the special effects.

edit: But how about this?

Protection: Life Support (Immunity: Venereal diseases and conception) (4 Active Points); Extra Time (Extra Phase, Only to Activate, Putting it on; -1/2), OIF (Prophylactic; Requires Multiple Foci if one is to enjoy more than one babe!; -1/4), Requires A Roll (14- roll; Ooops; -1/4) Real Cost:2

I'd think that would just be a special effect of the +5pts for x2 beings summoned.

And it should be a "grope of groupies".

40 Base Points

Total Disadvantage Points: 90

Background/History: Molly is an example of a high end "babe" from a Variable Babe Pool, specifically, one that might appear for the "Call Moll" power.

Personality/Motivation: After the "honeymoon" (the set of Tasks calculated, plus a week of "hanging around") unless the moll is re-Summoned or other steps taken (Bribery or Persuasion rolls perhaps) her loyalty may wane or she may move out of the campaign. While unlikely to "sell out" (and even less likely to sing to the cops) she may move on to some other tough guy who impressed her, either with more lavish parties or with an even darker and more dangerous reputation. Or she may get into trouble on her own initiative and end up in jail, taking it on the lam with no forwarding address, or even get killed. If the character gets really attached to a moll, there's always the option of buying her as a Follower.

Quote: Whatever you say, boss.

Powers/Tactics: While designed to hopefully survive a firefight, Molly is probably not a frontline enforcer. She can be a back up getaway driver, a distraction, or one more gun on your side in a fight. With 15 pts in Streetwise and Knowledge Skills, she may make a useful advisor.

Campaign Use: Aside from being a Summoned Babe, this character sheet could be used for a more permanent moll for crime bosses ranging from a prohibition era bootlegger to a 21st century drug lord, or even the girlfriend of certain kinds of villains in a superhero game.

Appearance: Molls are not necessarily chosen for looks (they have other things to contribute) but any given crime lord's moll is probably at least moderately attractive by whatever his personal standards are.

Lucius, I'd rep you for the write-ups if I could, but I've rep-slapped you recently.

What is the difference between a moll and a doll? I read through the different summoning powers, and I'm not sure what the 80-point Doll is for.

Lucius, I'd rep you for the write-ups if I could, but I've rep-slapped you recently.

What is the difference between a moll and a doll? I read through the different summoning powers, and I'm not sure what the 80-point Doll is for.

The major difference is that the doll, while a "high-end" babe, is unlike the moll or groupie in that a doll is not set up to act independently. If you're incarcerated, for instance, a moll will go out on her own to arrange bail (assuming she has "tasks" left, otherwise she may just find a new boss) but a doll will hang around (for up to a month) at the house passively until you return or someone chases her out or she realizes there's no more food in the fridge.

If you're recovering at home from a gunfight, a doll (with the right skills) might make a good nurse, until you take a turn for the worse and fall unconscious and can't be awakened. Then the doll may stand and dither, whereas a moll would call an ambulance, or a "street doc" if she knows of one you trust, or otherwise do something useful.

You could get around this with conditional tasks: "IF X, THEN Y" commands, but that only covers contingencies you thought of and uses up your task allotment.

So what's the doll got going for her? There's the fact she's "low maintenance" and will hang around for up to a month until needed for something. Also, the doll is "Devoted" where the moll is "Loyal" so while there may be things a moll won't do, there is very little a doll won't do for you. A moll will fight by your side in a firefight; a doll will walk ahead of you into a minefield.
