TheQuestionMan
Greetings Programs, one of the constants in Superhero comics is when the Respected Hero speaks everyone listens. Captain America - Respected by everyone and listened too. Ironman - Love or Hate everyone listens Superman - Respected and admired. When he talks everyone listens. Batman - When he talks we listen. Love or Hate. Who are the Respected Heroes of the Champions Universe. QM
Cassandra
Golden Avenger - Superpatriot with a lot of good press and spokesman for PRIMUS. American Eagle - Veteran Hero and leader of the Freedom Squad. Star Spangled Hero and Lady Victory - Both World War Two heroes and products of the Super-soldier project. Crusader - Dark Avenger of the Champions Universe. Seeker - Connected hero who meets everyone.
Lord Liaden
I'd have to think about it a bit more, but I'd probably put Diamond (the setting's analogue to the Thing) at the top of that list. He's been an active superhero since 1959 (he appears ageless), first as a founding member of the legendary Fabulous Five, then after they officially disbanded in 1979, joining the equally prestigious Sentinels team, where he's served ever since. Diamond has been everywhere, seen everything, and knows everyone who's anyone in the Superhuman World. He's mentored generations of heroes, and takes that responsibility very seriously. He's very famous among the general public, and almost a legend to other superheroes. He declines to lead the Sentinels officially, but when he offers advice they listen carefully. Diamond was last written up in Champions Universe: News Of The World, along with the other Sentinels.

Lord Liaden
The All-American (that code-name has been used by a series of people since the late 1960s) has been extensively promoted as "America's official superhero" by the American government. The identity was deliberately created by the government to be a highly visible symbol of American ideals and values, to the domestic and foreign public. The All-American's activities are well publicized, and he makes numerous media appearances in addition to fighting crime, helping with disaster relief, and combating supervillains. While his profile is very high, many Americans view him as a tool of the Establishment. The most recent write-up for the All-American is in Champions Universe for Hero 6E. Lord Liaden
Brawler, one of the strongest "bricks" on Champions Earth, is the official leader of the longest-active superhero team, the Justice Squadron. Brawler is actually the third person in his family line to use that name, inheriting his powers from his father, whom he replaced on the Squadron in 1985. He was raised with the heroic code of his family, and never really considered any other calling. While Brawler defers to other JS members during actual combat, in every other way he's the glue that holds the team together, working hard to make sure the team functions smoothly. Younger team members often seek his advice. He's the Squadron's public face dealing with the media and government bureaucracy, making him widely recognized. He often makes public service announcements, charity appearances, etc. Brawler and the other Justice Squadron members are also written up in Champions Universe: News Of The World. Lord Liaden
Next Question, when the Superhuman Registration Act is made Law! Who becomes the spokes person for either side? Defender Pro/Con? Etc... P.S. My character in The Mutant Chronicles is facing a choice. For or Against the American Paranormal Superhuman Registration Act. My character stumped the GM by calling on the ACLU for help. Er... in official Champions United States of America, the American Superhuman and Paranormal Registration Act (ASPRA), is law. Has been since 1980. Innately-powered superhumans, and costumed crimefighters using super-technology, are required to register their true identities, and the capabilities of their powers or tech, with PRIMUS. In practice the negative public optics of harassing heroes, and risk of alienating heroes often crucial to American security, kept the government from actively pursuing "lawbreakers." However, captured supervillains are always registered, and registration is usually the price for heroes requesting government assistance. Neither the government nor the superhero community is completely happy with the situation; but the ASPRA database has grown to become the second-largest database on superhumans, after UNTIL's, yet has never been penetrated by outsiders, or improperly used against a registered hero. So over time both sides have grown more tolerant of the arrangement. (Preceding summarized from Champions Universe.)
Balabanto
Wasn't he elected President? Having written that adventure, I can say that in my home game, he did not win the Oval Office. However, the PC's involved in that adventure did all vote for him.

But I do think that tossing Hexes Fruit Pies at ISIS won't stop them from attacking or recruting terrorists, so mark one up for Trump. BoloOfEarth
Foxbat isn't respected? Wasn't he elected President? In my game, he began campaigning immediately after the latest election, with the catch phrase, "Let's Give America a Do-Over." He planned to disrupt the electoral college voting, but (not surprisingly) things didn't work out as he planned.

Lord Liaden
Excellent suggestion, Cassandra. If there's going to be a call for tightening of enforcement of ASPRA, Invictus would be the likeliest person to do so. That would undoubtedly hamper heroes likely to oppose his rise to power. And as a high-profile politician and former superhero (as far as anyone knows), Donald Sutherland's pronouncement on the matter would carry a lot of weight. And as a high-profile politician and former superhero (as far as anyone knows), Donald Sutherland's pronouncement on the matter would carry a lot of weight. Plus he has political ambitions. He might try to run for President or Vice President with Robert Washington Kaufman (The Golden Avenger) as his running mate. It might be up to the heroes to prevent a "VIPERian Candidate". Lord Liaden
Are those original characters from your own games, Phantom? I don't recognize them from any published source.
