Pariah
Well that was a lot more bollocks than I'd anticipated, but at least it's done now.
death tribble
Day 5 of the Tour featured no breakaway which is highly unusual. Wout Van Aert won at the line as the sprinters ganged up for the finish. Peter Sagan is no longer the Green Jersey as Sam Bennett took it at the immediate sprint and made sure he beat Sagan at the line,

death tribble
Day 6 of the Tour and Alexy Lutsenko wins the stage. death tribble
Day 7 of the Tour and Wout Van Aert wins his second stage. But the story of the day is Peter Sagan's team Bora-Hansgrohe riding for him and ensuring that Sam Bennett did not get any points at the intermediate sprint. They rode Bennett out of the race. Sagan was unlikely at the end losing his chain or a pedal and not getting more points at the end of the stage. It was a much more exciting stage with the favourites all battling at the front and fighting the wind in an echelon.

Cancer
That's her. Under her auspices I can walk into the humanities departments here and be immune from accusations of soullessness and merely latter-day pretentions of academic worthiness. Bazza
To be fair, the charge of soulessness sticks, unless one adopts Plato’s Timaeus. The accusation of academic worthiness is baseless on grounds of Pythagoras. Edit: I thought you were a Christian poet, turns out you were an astronomer. Bazza
Constitutional exegesis, or constitutional hermeneutics? Both seem equally popular but as far as I know underdeveloped as academic disciplines.

death tribble
Day 9 and Tadej Pogacar wins on the line after Marc Hirschi had lead for the majority of the race. Primoz Roglic was second and is now in yellow, despite the fact that his team rides in yellow.
death tribble
Day 10 is the Rest day and the teams are doing Coronavirus tests. Two teams are completely clear from what has been said already but there are positive tests on other teams. That may not be the riders but other staff. We shall see. death tribble
Day 11 and Sam Bennett won the stage and took the Green Jersey back. He now has stage wins at all three Grand Tours. The tests for the virus gave a real surprise. The race director tested positive and is now isolating for a week. Team members on four teams also tested positive but not any of the riders. Two positives and the entire team is off the Tour.

So I took another bicycle trip for my August vacation this year. As usual, too much cycling, too few photographs. Made the Hope-Princeton in just less than fifteen hours, no photos. On the other hand, a bunch of photos from my two days in Greenwood, mostly from Japanese internment days. Mr. Fujimura isn't coming back. death tribble
Day 12 and Caleb Ewan wins his second stage of this year's Tour as they reach Potiers. Sagan comes second but he headbutted another rider on the way in so we await the commissaires ruling.

death tribble
Day 13 Marc Hirschi won today's stage of the Tour quite deservedly after coming second and third previously on stages in what is only his first Tour. He is managed by Fabian Cancellara who was himself a famed racer. And Sagan was penalised being relegated to the back of the peloton and was docked points.
