Based on the above statement, I assume the OP wants to mitigate lethality.

Frankly, the only thing that makes KAs lethal is their ability to bypass non-resistant defenses. The potential to do a lot of STUN may be annoying, but it won't kill a character, and as such, I don't consider the STUN lotto to be what makes an attack a "killing" attack. So if I were to remove KAs in order to reduce lethality in a campaign, the STUN mechanics wouldn't be a major consideration. Instead, I would just remove KAs and Resistant defense powers. Armor would just be built as normal PD/ED through a Focus. Force Fields would be Hardened by default instead of being Resistant. Likewise, physical objects would have Hardened instead of Resistant DEF. Why? Because if I wanted to add back in some of the "defeats defenses" component of KAs, I'd turn to Armor Piercing for that.

    Ninja-Bear got a reaction from knasser2 in WH40K Hero
Knasser2 CC is short for Champions Complete and FHC is short for Fantasy Hero Complete. Both are presented as complete rule editions. They are 6th ed.however, CC has a few minor tweaks from the full 6th. (One change  is that in CC class of minds changed back to one class instead of choosing a specific class of mind.)  They cut out a lot of examples and in-depth explanations of the rules. Steve Long won’t comment on them.

I do have Hero Designer and my experience with it is different than Cantriped though I have a few minor issues with it myself. And I do use CC/FHC now myself.

GM: "Without warning, the spear-point of a lengthy knife erupts from Adhrass' abdomen. Little blood manages to splash onto the marble below before an explosion of blue-white frost from within freezes the impending geyser and fills the wound. That's 63 damage. I need you to...
PLAYER: "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on! This armor he's wearing protects him from critical hits and sneak attack damage. Doesn't it help?"
GM: "...yeah. It was 84 damage. Fortunately for you, it's now a measly 63."

In 3rd edition, Telekinesis was 1 point per 1 STR.  1d6 STR presumably means 1d6 STR damage, which is 5 points of STR, which costs 5 points.  That's how I'd build it myself, at least.

Eclipse City? No the name should be Atlantis! Look at the shiny crystal structures! Look how futuristic it is! Why in Idaho? Well when it was about to sink, the magicians casted a powerful spell. When the water rises, the earth moved and the Eclipse unlocked the spell. The city didn’t move, the earth beneath it did!

    Background:
Jack Stanford was a cargo pilot flying over a remote area of the Himalayas when his plane went down in a storm. Injured and weak from the accident, he became easy prey for a beast from the Shadowlands that had escaped a cult of monks who had summoned it to siphon its powers to bolster their warriors' strength. The monks caught up with the shadow beast just before it delivered the coup de grace to Jack. Honor demanded they fix their mistake, but the only way to do so was to bond Jack to the beast. . .

    Powers/Tactics:
Mister Midnight is bonded with a beast from the Shadowlands, a realm of death and darkness some believe to be a version of the afterlife. He's able to contain the beast, but if he's seriously injured the beast will temporarily take control despite the binding rituals on it, as its survival instincts kick in. Although Jack's powers are shadow-based, he lacks Darkness, because his sole focus is on keeping the darkness contained. Nevertheless, in combat he exudes an aura of shadow that both protects him and strikes fear into his enemies. He's also capable of stepping through the Shadowlands and coming out in a different location in our world and turning into a living shadow, becoming intangible. Jack believes in the creed of striking first, striking hard, and showing no mercy to his enemies, and has the hunter's instincts of the shadowbeast. This often leads to friction with Liberty Star and Citizen Arcane.

Notes: I really had to bend this character's concept a lot to fit him into the point limit in this version of the system. The concept was initially a bricky, high stat martial artist with a few flavor shadow powers. He was supposed to have a fear/DCV aura (+PRE and +DCV levels) and a short teleport (8-10"), with Regen and somewhat higher physical stats. Under the playtest rules, Teleport is 30 pts/15",  which I take as the minimum buy in, unlike other movement powers, and DCV levels aren't a thing (and I didn't want to buy them as another type of skill level with a Limitation tacked on, since that type of thing isn't explicit in the rules). I could drop the Desolid and buy up some more STR/CON and the Regen probably, but the Desolid seemed like a better choice for just going all out defense when needed.

Edit: Noticed I forgot to put Costs END on the extra PRE to qualify it for the EC. Did that and put the point saved into Ego Defense.

Probably about the same way I see how Americans are portrayed in old non American made films and video games. Which is *shrug*. I’ll correct my statement if someone finds actual evidence to to the contrary.

Note:  You don't have to build the power armor as a single, compound power.

I usually design such using a list; I apply the modifiers that all items will have to the list, then any specific modifiers for a given item in the list only to that power / item.

This works especially well for equipment, since it also makes it easier to add or remove parts individually.  Easier to read on the character sheet, as well.

Given it's a trope of the genre... I'd actually set it where it's a moderately accomplishable goal within the campaign ... how much damage does a typical person do with a weapon. If you can normally get 2-3 Body past defenses, which doubles to 4-6 Body... then unless you've got a particularly tough monster; maybe call it 5 Body will decapitate most monsters.

Knasser2 I often don’t recommend just buying a supplement out of hand. In this case though, for $1, in the Hero store is a PDF for Dark Champions where Steve Long updates his templates from 5th to 6th. Among the templates that you might find useful are military templates. Off the top of my head there are Basic military, Delta Force and Rangers and night even be SEALs. For a $1, you can’t go wrong.

Do you know where the martial arts came from into the USA? Military people stationed overseas.  And if you look at the history of military unarmed arts, it has changed from what was popular. There is a book from the US Army that had Jack Dempsey iirc teach self defense. In the ‘60s Black Belt magazine has an article on how the Marines are teaching Judi and it wasn’t a “soft” art

Depends on Era of Batman. Iirc Batman has the most popular Martial Art of the time. So today I would say MMA if it’s in MA 6th. If it isn’t then I’d pull from jujitsu list.

Personally I enjoyed Iron Fist. The martial arts were bad, but I watched Arrow for years and its martial arts were in there own way just as bad despite the years of practice their actors had doing them.  The pacing was good, without the the feeling that episodes 8 through 12 were just there as padding like so many Netflix series.  The story with Ward and his father was compelling.  Madame Gao was a good villain.  Colleen Wing was cool.  Moreover, prepare yourselves for heresy, I liked the character of Danny Rand.

Yes, if I was a fan of Danny Rand from the comics, I probably would have hated him in the Netflix series.  However, Danny Rand in the comics never really did anything for me.  The Netflix's Danny Rand at least I found interesting.  The idea that taking an orphan and training him for years to be some ultimate warrior would result in not some peaceful zen warrior but instead in a really emotionally messed up man struck me a wonderful overturning of a stale troph.  Every good thing about Danny Rand was stuff that he brought with him to K'un-Lun as a sweet, innocent boy.  All K'un-Lun added was violence.  If you doubt this, look at messed up Davos is.  Early on we see him subduing and tying up a food truck owner to use his truck to spy on Danny, and to pass the time he scares the s*** out his prisoner.  Had Danny Rand not won it instead, this is the guy who would have become Iron Fist.  Think about that.

I also liked him in the Defenders.  I found him to be a refreshing counterpoint to everyone else's angst and cynicism.
