  3. Re: Silliest Disadvantage Ever I remember one other disadvantage that someone posted on this board, once. The character was a professional wrestler with the disadvantage: x2 STUN from folding chairs. I thought it was priceless.
  4. Re: Silliest Disadvantage Ever In my Northern Guard campaign, Glue Girl has the Distinctive Features: Things stick to her. She always has bits of paper and office supplies stuck to her skin. She could never grow her hair long. And a cape? Forget it.

  7. Re: I Need an Arkham Asylum Clone My campaign uses Markham Asylum, because Markham is the name of a 'burb outside of Toronto. Other names: - The Plath Institute - The Dr. Cryo Memorial Clinic for the Criminally Insane (abbreviated as the "Cryo Clinic") - Cougar and Dark's Psychiatric Health Centre (wry reference to Something Wicked This Way Comes) - The Mental Health and Wellness Centre - The Powers for Good Institute for the Treatment of the Criminally Insane BCing you
  8. Re: Villainy Amok - What Would *You* Like To See How about the version where suddenly the players realize they've been playing the clones all this time...?

  11. Some other points: - The Bawon is extremely lewd and sexual - He is always hungry (because death is ravenous) - He wears sunglasses with one lens removed. That's because his two eyes do different things: one watches the entire universe and the other guards his food. - The Bawon is also the last hope for extremely sick children, if he can be persuaded that a child shouldn't die. - He's the head of an entire group (nanchon, or nation) of death spirits called Gedes who include Bawon Lakwa, Bawon Cemetaire, Bawon Criminel, Bawon Zonbi, and others.
  12. Re: Sid & Marty Kroft Hero Now my head is full of "What If..?"-type stories and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen "What if The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was comprised of 70's Saturday Morning TV characters instead of Victorian novel characters." "H.R. Pufnstuf, you will lead a team like no other..."

    Ship Naming

"Damn constitutional amendment of 2012! I mean, heck, if the original restriction was good enough for Washington, it should be good enough for anyone!"
  14. I've already said this to you via e-mail, but I'll be giddy in public, too... I am absolutely in love with this piece. I think it captures everything I could ever have wanted in the character image. BCing you
  15. Re: Re: Near Future SF campaigns And when is the Solar Colonies e-book coming out, anyway? BC egging you on, in a soft-boiled sort of way
  16. A long, long time ago, I pieced together this 2m hex map of the Type S Scout: http://www.bcholmes.org/images/rpgs/scout.gif
  17. I'm glad to hear that Dragon's Gate is available, and I'm gonna pester my local game store to see if they are carrying a copy. One comment that I will make (and you can decide if it's worth acting on): about a month or so ago, I went to your web site to see if the book was available (I was thinking of ordering it). I was on the right page, and I was trying to quickly answer one question: has the product already been printed or not? That is to say, is the product available now? Because I couldn't see anything that leaped out at me and said, "Available now!", I put my search aside and figured I'd come back to it another day. And a month or more has passed. That one little factoid probably would have been the difference between me buying the thing right then and there or not.
  18. Yes. This. This is me, too.
  19. Re: Waaaaahhhh! I still think that Star Hero needs a good setting (campaign book). I think that Terran Empire is weak -- it doesn't stand out for me.
  20. Re: Adventure Source Material I'm very fond of most of the stuff produced for 2300AD (Nyutekundu was one of my favourites). 2300AD tends to be more hard SF, though. Also, some of the Traveller adventures published in the short-lived Megatraveller Journal were really good.
  21. Re: Life on a Lunar Colony Ben Bova has a great book called Welcome to Moonbase that's basically written like the instruction manual for a newcomer to the moon. Interesting points that he mentions: - lower gravity is great for geriatric care, so there may be a lot of older people coming to the moon - you can fly under your own power on the moon. All you need are some light wings (built like a hangglider) Great sporting opportunity. - Water would be a highly prized commodity. John M. Ford's book, Growing Up Weightless is also a really interesting book that speculates about life on the moon.
  22. Re: Forgotten Flagsuits Captain Canuck! (I remember seeing several issues of Captain Canuck when I was a kid, but I never owned one myself. Mostly because the writing seemed so lame) I can't remember if The Spirit of '76 (who appeared in a 1976 issue of The Invaders) had a US flag motif. He dressed in 18th century "revolution-era" clothes. Union Jack (from _The Invaders_ and other comics). Captain Britain. The Americommando (a DC Captain America clone in old issues of _Freedom Fighters_). And his sidekick Rusty. And wasn't there a Davedevil villain with a flagsuit theme in Miller's days? I remember him taking these red-white-and-blue pills. Can't remember his name, though. Plus, one of my favourite comics called (if I remember correctly) simply _The American_ about a team of soldiers who each do a tour of duty as The American so that it seems like The American has been around since the 1940s. If they survive, they get to retire and earn a cut of The American merchandising.
  23. Re: Re: Another Thought Ah, but are you cursed with the name? I mean, heck, when they weren't calling me "Yoyo" they were calling me "Sherlock".
  24. Re: Acceptable...? The Human Target was a DC Comic before it was a TV show, I believe. Also, some others that jumped into my head: - The Phoenix with Judson Scott - The Powers of Matthew Starr Both of those were pretty bad shows.
