  1. Pretty sure that is a normal Shadowrun scenario. Possibly a low detail one-off adventure. Setting up the religious group/civil war would be a major step in worldbuilding, however. It is really wierd that so many Christians did not get the core of the bible: "Do not be a *bleep*hole." Well, "there ain't no rest for the wicked", or so they say.
  2. Are we happy now we kicked out Pluto before we realized how many friends & familiy exactly he was going to invite to our party?
  3. I think we have all options listed in the above posts. Now we are just waiting for a OP response wich option he choose. And the APG rule I posted is a 90% match for the original pwoer writeup. I mean it is for 6E. but it should be portable. As much as any "Optional Rule with giant STOP sign" can be useable. That gives me a Idea: AVAD (Smell Flash Defense) That should include "if you can not smell it you are immune." Pretty sure lack of smell is the ultimative Smell Flash Defense.
  4. I did not try to be rude at any one point. If I somehow came across as rude, I appologize. But I really need to know what exactly caused that perception so I can avoid it in the future.
  5. What are you percieving if you got absolute range sense, Perfect Pitch or any other Talent build as a Detect? Detect Lie would depend on wich adders are there. Without any form of Discriminatory (partial or Full) you propably do not know wich part of a sentence is a lie. Propably. A GM might also argue it requires targetting (you need to home in on the lie). It really depends on the GM/How expensive he wants such a ability to be.
  6. I doubt it is charging. But it can be hard to tell since it is so far out of Focus. Pretty sure it is being guided by the mouthpiece and behind it is a wall, giving it very little room to charge.
  7. I wrote something on the mater of Senses a while back. I had to dig a bit, but I found it. And will add it to my signature: While it has 6E in the title, as I said these do not seem to have changed from 5E to 6E.
  8. You do seem to accept that "Sight Group" is the smalest base denomination you can buy now. That is all that realy maters. The rule for senses is always: "The more points you spend on it, the less able sense affecting powers are going to disrupt it." Your solution is so cheap, because you put it into the sight group. Wich means any SA Power going for "Sight Group" without limitations will affect it. Combat Sense is so expensive, because it is in the "not a group" group. If you want to block it, you have to pay as much as for a whole targetting sense group.
  9. Or you can just turn it off. My mother even has a issue that caller ID is not working half the time when she wants it too. Mind you Caller ID is a voluntary thing to begin with. Something you (and your phone provider) choose to allow. And a new-ish thing, having only become widespread with Mobile phones. The less voluntary brother is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malicious_caller_identification Knowing when to leave. The most important skil of a Henchman. And something you usually learn quickly: http://www.henchmenonline.com/?p=14
  10. I like to watch the Youtube Channel Extra Credits. They have now branched out into Extra History. And recently, extra Mythology. And guess who just happens to have gotten a episode of EM today? As well as all his variantions.
  11. Afaik the "Suicide Bad" thing was a later addition made. Because the poor thought: If I get my reward in the afterlife, why not rush for it? And of a priest at a funeral? Simply unacceptable. How did he need an explanation for that?
  12. In my computer club we have been doing a Star Wars marathon over the previous month and this one. Prequels, Rogue One and Solo included. All in Storyline order. I only watched parts of it. Something I started watching was a Youtube Series: "If the emperor had a text to speech device". I can only link it because they use the f-word literally in the first 2 minutes. It consist of: - a primer into the 40k Universe - a father/son story - and lots of children card games for souls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_2nM1GEllg Edit: i found a proper Playlist from a 3rd party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_2nM1GEllg&index=3&list=PLyiDf91_bTEgnBN0jAvzNbqzrlMGID5WA
  13. This picture reminds me of the Masari from Universe at War: https://universeatwar.wikia.com/wiki/Masari Not enough to actualyl get a parcitipation out of me, but close.
  14. It took me some time to realize this is some long exposure shoot. And not a spaceship going FTL inside the atmosphere.
  15. Plus someone would have had to organize Casino dice, giving that person a option to manipulate the dice. Unpredictability is half the part of getting usefull randomness. Including unpredictabiltiy of wich dice you are using.
  16. I usually get my ideas about the rules from the rules. 6E: " A character with Darkness can create a feld that’s impervious to one Sense Group (usually the Sight Group).[...] At its base level, Darkness flls a 1m radius Area for 5 Character Points and affects one Targeting Sense Group. " Yes, there is a table with buying Additional Senses or Sense Groups. Additional is the important word here. 5E Chacter Creation Handbook has the same wording to the leter, except of course where measurements are concerend. Senses and Sense Affecting powers do not seem to have changed at all between 5E and 6E. You propably can not aim for a sense as Base Cost, because that would be too powerfull. I mean how much Weaker is "Darkness: Normal Vision" really compared to "Darkness: Sight Group"? Would it be enough to reduce the base cost from 5 to 2? The whole Character Point system is simply not granular enough to handle that level of detail. Of coruse you are free to pay the 5 points for the whole Sight Group and then only take "Normal Sight". As a I recently learned, "minimum purchase value" is only the minimum you have to pay for, not the minimum you have to take with you too. But this is superheroics. Of course every other villain has UV, Night or IR Vision. Some 175 point Agents might have it. Not getting the full sight group if you pay for it would just be stupid. Or a very well thought out choice.
  17. There is still a minimal loudness even on those attacks, or they will simply not penetrate to where they will do any damage. And the interstellar medium is not really suited for conduction sound. Then it is not a sonic attack. It is a EM Spectrum attack. Maybe a hybrid EM/Sonic one - EM to deliver it to the body of the enemy, then Sonic to propagate from there. Those are three incomparably different cases. In many ways the EM spectrum is the opposite of Sonic things. Where one is strongest, the other is weakest.
  18. Only because we were not beaten by birds. We instead punted any fowl play. And he even won on a Natural 20. That has style! And a better distribution of results too. I actually once heard a theory about how those cureses work - and why you should not shower/bathe before entering a Tomb: It is theorize that inside those well sealed tombs, a lot of old bacteria and virusses survive. The kind moden humans no longer have resistences against. If you wash before opening, you risk the bacterial spores/viruses to enter through your pores. And killing you.
  19. Of course, a lot of Planets are Jovial. We got 4 alone in our Solar System. And most of the ones we find in other Systems are Jovial too.
  20. And you made exactly the mistake I asumed you were doing. You asume the smoke/darkness is limited down to only affect normal Vision. You can not buy less then a Full Sense Group at the first step. You aim to disript sight, the whole Sight Group is the minimum you get. So 10 CP/1 Hex in 5E. 5 CP/1m radius in 6E FYI, the idea was to disrupt the enemy senses to have the "enemy fights in darkness" bonus. So if anything you just explained why he should not limit his power down to Sight Group Addons, but spring for Combat Sense. If a enemy can counter it with a 5 Point Equipment called "IR Googles", that is nothing.
  21. It is close enough to a vacuum to make the distinction pointless - and sonic weapons useless. The shockwave of any explosion is de-facto a sonic effect. Basically explosions and and sonic attacks are just about making a really loud sound. Our most powerfull weapons - nuclear warheads - are not anywhere near their atmospheric power scale in space. You need to delivere the effect to the enemies spacesuit/armor/body to have any chance to do damage. Of course the opposite happens underwater. Sound travels 4.5 times as fast in water as it does in air. What that means in rules effect is defined on 6E2 165. But basically "25% more power and ranged attack become cone AoE for free".
  22. Okay, this looks like a D&D Conversion. And not everything from D&D can be converted over to Hero at all: Particular the whole concept of a saving Throw is there to offset some weaknesses of the D&D ruleset. And the whole idea behind "make the throw once, be immune for 24h" is there to offset some issues with the power itself. The only real option we have to paralyze someone in Hero is Entangle. Usually some form of "Not affected by Damage" is used to get non-physical (not a glue bomb) entangles working. And Paralysation is explicitly mentioned. That it will affect you by breathing sounds like it should be a "NND (Breathing Life Support negates)". However the part where it is only one turn, might allow some alternatives. Something very close to a "can not act for 1 turn" attack is being Stunned. But (nearly) guaranteed stunning is hard. I can only see these options: You could buy an attack with "damage only counts for creating teh STUNNED effect" Limitation. APG I 83 has the Option " CHAnGE EnvIROnmEnT: STunnInG" with a big STOP sign. However it might be a near perfect match for what you try to do: " At the GM’s option, characters can also use Change Environment against a single target to create an attack that Stuns the target without reducing his STUN. Tis combat effect costs 30 Character Points. When used, this form of Change Environment Stuns the target, subjecting him to all the effects described on 6E2 104 (except for the loss of STUN; his STUN total isn’t reduced). Te Stunned effect lasts as long as the Change Environment is maintained. However, when affected the victim gets to make a CON Roll immediately, and if the roll succeeds the attack has no effect on him. If the roll fails, he gets to make an additional CON Roll every Phase he’s affected at a cumulative +1 (so +1 on his second roll, +2 on his third, and so on). As soon as any roll succeeds, the power immediately stops affecting him and he has his full Phase in which to act. To affect him further, the character using the Change Environment has to use an Attack Action and successfully attack him again. To counteract the CON Roll, a character buying Change Environment (Stun) can include penalties to CON Rolls as an additional combat modifer" As the attack would be constant/persistent, there would be no way for the user to "make a new Attack Roll". But one could argue that the power is re-used (and thus requires a new set of throws) every 24h.
  23. But, would that not be the same thing as comitting suicide? I mean she knows she is in some of those!
  24. I just watched "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" in Theater. A Film containing one of the propably last 3 Cameos of Stan Lee (the other ones being Captain Marvel and Avengers 4). The visual Style is a bit hard to follow especially in 3D. But it was a decent Superhero Origin Story. And a Superhero Origin Story. And a Superhero Origin Story.
  25. If you know some of the larger dog breeds, that really is not that big.
