  1. Indeed. Characteristics Maxima are also there to prevent Presence Attacks from becomming too effective. Limited Presence must be held to a similar standard. Of course PRE Attacks are already deep in "GM decision territory". So this is more a mater of being vigilant about abusive use.
  2. Since you brought it up: "Every uncontrolled power can be a curse. Every. One." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrhNHzlsuco
  3. That one is behind a pay or at least registering wall, unfortunately. Could you tell us more? Or maybe find another source for this information?
  4. I am actually quoting them because they are the only guideline I have. Why do people keep claiming I am some kind of Rule Fanatic just becaue I dare to have a reference to what I say?
  5. I am sure we will hear from you on that mater eventually
  6. And it looks like Extra Mythology now does a Series on Irish Myth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfPfWsVRAkg
  7. So this was moved from Rules Questions to Hero System, so I guess participation is wanted. One cheaper way to buff PRE attacks would be "Striking Appereance". While originally defined as "Pretty" or "Ugly", I simply view it as limited presence. So it could be used for "Intimidating Presence" just as well.
  8. The most AP intensive Melee weapon for Fanatasy settings I could find was the Great Axe, at 54 AP. So PD/ED should be 11 (54/5 = 11) There is no body defined, but Object Creation demands body to be bought within Defenses/2. With the lack of granularity, 8 is the target. So here is my math on Object creation, 1 Minute Time Limit: Object Creation: 20 Complexity: Most melee and Ranged Weapons are covered by the baseline. However Crossbows might require the +10 "Complex Object" Modifier Buy Defenses from 2 to 11: 9x3 = +27 Buy Body from 2 to 8 to match Defenses: +6 Every Doubling (from 1 object): +5; However I doubt we need doublings nessesarily. You can just spend several half-phases creating weapons For the Duration, Object Creation has a custom Limitation "Limited Lifespan". It happens to end at -2, same value as time 1 Minute Time Limit Additional Limitation "Limited Objects" Might be applicable. But even just having the Option to Create Weapons with this power might negate that. Object Creation: Base Cost: 53 Base Advantages: None Limitations: 1 Minute Duration or Limited Lifespan (1 Minute) (-2) Real Cost: 18 Character Points
  9. Not my idea. I think Lucius came up with it. But I found it a very good point. Weapons are certainly a lot less uncommon. Well the Spell that is being duplicated had a duration of 1 minute. That duration alone kills about 95% of all abuse potential. The system being copied included that. Maybe the next itteration of Object creation should include a limited duration? I need to dive into the rules a bit to figure out the base cost of this power (asuming the GM allows weapon creation). Mostly matching the Defenses and Body of the Focus possible.

  11. Of course, it is a permanent battle between Spam Producers and Spam catchers. As long as you do not klick on the link in the email (or at least verify it is the right one), nothing can really happen. Phishing works on getting you onto a faulty login page, where you input your Login information. The moment you go onto the login page manually/via a link, all phishing attempts have failed. The only links I click, is stuff like Password reset forms. After I have request the reset (becaue some password rules just preclude me being able to remember the password). Maybe the odd "View in Browser" or "Unregister" for a Newsletter. Of wich I am only subscribed to a handfull.
  12. Wich does not mater because paying points for Magic is still a huge expense for every Heroic Character and something way less then even 20 Base Points + UBO is needed. Also, let me repeat: "Of course the GM can allow you to break/bend the rules, by allowing you to use object creation or summon. Just the 1 minute time limit would be enough to avoid most of the Abuse potential inherent in weapon/object creation. Combing that with "Weapons are not that hard are to come by" would be okay-ish balance wise I think." So I am not even certain what you disagree on.
  13. Negative Man sounds more like a case of Projection. And we have 2 Options for Projection in APG 1 (one dervied from Desolid) alone. I wish this case was so ... easy. Hero has the options to make a very precision simulation. Unfortunately very precise simulations end up being overly complicated. Programming has similar issues. Without clear goals, we tend towards "Precision Creep". We add more and more stuff that could be added, without asking if it really helps to add that detail. That is at least how I would do it. But it comes down to a question, wich of the two the Focus will be on, both Roleplaying and in Combat. With a shared Focus, a Weak PC/Summon combination might work out. But at least if this was my Character, I doubt it would go that way. Look at the more recent cartoon interpretations of Hulk. Hulk is hulk around 90% of the time. Bruce Banner is barely even mentioned. Compare that to the earlier Hulk solo cartoon. In both cases Bruce Banner has a very different role in the story. Wich I translate to a very different need to write him up as a seperate sheet.
  14. 6E2 204. Battle Axe: 2D6 Sword, Great: 2D6 Sword, Broad/Long: 1D6+1 So yeah, 2D6/6DC is a pretty common figure for Heroic weapons. Certainly the upper bound you have to aim too. FYI, I did say: "Of course the GM can allow you to break/bend the rules, by allowing you to use object creation or summon. Just the 1 minute time limit would be enough to avoid most of the Abuse potential inherent in weapon/object creation. Combing that with "Weapons are not that hard are to come by" would be okay-ish balance wise I think." So I am not even certain what you disagree on.
  15. One interpretation of "bless your heart" I always thought about: "Bless your naive heart."
  16. And book wise you do not have to use Points or 3D6. But let us asume he is not trying to break the game before he even started playing it?
  17. I guess you mean this System? https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/209297/OLD-The-Fantasy-Heroic-Roleplaying-Game I could not find it on Wikipedia. It will not be a simple, low level spell in Hero by Rules as Written. Bookwise it would have to be " 2D6 HKA (30 Base Cost/6 DC) with 0 END (+1/2), UBO (+1/2)", wich is 60 Active Points. Of course the GM can allow you to break/bend the rules, by allowing you to use object creation or summon. Just the 1 minute time limit would be enough to avoid most of the Abuse potential inherent in weapon/object creation. Combing that with "Weapons are not that hard are to come by" would be okay-ish balance wise I think.
  18. I do not care. It was a cool scene. And with all the Details they had kept out, it made sense.
  19. So they even made that one up? Typical Atoms!
  20. Solarion The solarite armor is a piece of alien technology. Highly advanced, it grants the user superstrenght and durability on brick level, as well as interstellar flight. As the name sugests, it derives it's energy from Sunlight with only a limited storage capacity. Not normally an issue in interplanetary space (or for short hops between Solar Systems), it still prooved a fatal flaw for the previous owner when he was caved in with not enough reserves to free himself. Solomon Joffrion was a doctor who did cave climbing as a hobby. However it is a dangerous hobby, and a particular unstable part of a cave seperated him from his co-climbers and a way out. Imporpably he found the solarite armor and used it, to free himself. He is only aware of the more obvious power - superstrenght, durabiltiy, atmopheric flight. He has no idea of its alien origin. Indeed the thought has not yet crossed his mind. Wich is a pitty, for now that the armor is active again a lot of old foes have picked up the energy signature of it. Slowly they are comming, to either take or destory the armor - and whoever happens to wear it right now.
  21. I am sorry, but with that name I can only think of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Boy_(manga)
  22. The Egyptians were simply the last Civilsiation that openly admitted it!
  23. A joint so potent, it affected the Camera? The digital one at that, not even a film it could chemically interact with!
  24. That makes her at tops a Catwoman on the Hero/Villian Scale. A early one that never had joined with the Birds of Prey or similar Vigilantee Groups. IIRC Caliburn was about as ambigious on the Hero/Villain scale as DC's John Constantine. The guy was the sometimes lover of Zatana, a Cities Avatar and propably the odd demon/spirit/whatever that looked halfway attractive at the time. If you are doomed to eternal torment, no reason to not take up any option that comes your way. Let us just sum it up as: She is a Villain He is a Hero It is complicated.
