  1. Re: How (un)realistic are Street Samurai? In SR, many classic Mercenary types would agree. True Merc's have Code and proper military training, after all. Street Sams are just SINless gutter trash that have sold their bodies for power. No better than junkies or prostitutes in the eyes of the true professional.
  2. Re: Effects of "Heightened Libido"? Physical Complication: Raging Hormones Psychological Complication: Prudish Psychological Complication: Exercise Addict
  3. Re: Effects of "Heightened Libido"? Power Girl is mostly just considered a lewd exhibitionist. She-Hulk, by contrast, is considered a wildly promiscuous party girl. And I love them both so very much
  4. Re: How (un)realistic are Street Samurai? Well, Molly Millions is kind of the iconic Street Sam and she doesn't actually use a katana (she uses hand razors)... but as I said things change with time..
  5. Re: How (un)realistic are Street Samurai? While it may not have started off that way, it's become a pretty common image in SR type settings. Besides, I get the impression that Ragitsu want's it to work that way in his games regardless of how it may have been once apon a time in Chi-Town...
  6. Re: Effects of "Heightened Libido"? Is she doing this dancing alone? Otherwise this is another one of those activities that might just make things worse... Cool, just wanted to point out the potential to offend might be there. Obviously, you know your players better than anyone else Oh, overall, it's not disturbing. Not by a long shot! I have no problem with the idea of exploring that aspect of just about any given character. Like I said, I just took that one comment in entirely the wrong direction...
  7. Re: Effects of "Heightened Libido"? Man, this is SO counter to my world view and experiences that it's like reading someone recommending trying to put out a fire with buckets of gasoline Ignoring that fact, the bolded part is slightly disturbing, though perhaps somewhat less so in the context of a four color comic setting where violence has no real consequence... Also, not sure of what your game group/target audience is like, but I know several women that wouldn't appreciate the "man-like" comment in regards to a woman having an incredible sex drive. Heck, I think I know some guys that might find that sort of remark offensive...
  8. Re: Effects of "Heightened Libido"? Well, as I alluded to before, combat would likely produce the exact opposite effect... But it's a comic book setting, so I guess no need to get overly wrapped up in that sort of thing if you don't want to.
  9. Re: Character picture of animated movie style I sketch most of my own characters. There's also online programs like HeroMachine
  10. Re: Effects of "Heightened Libido"? If she's constantly pent up or in an otherwise heightened state of arousal, that's going to affect her judgement to an incredible degree. Especially in regards to the targets of her desire. And channeling sexual frustration into fighting crime is probably just going to make things worse once the combat begins. Considering everything she brings to the table, she's probably going to have an easy time with sexy PRE attacks and Charm rolls already. Does she put out any kind of enhanced pheromones? Does she have enhanced senses that make her more vulnerable to such things? Does she only have enhanced carnal desires or does she actually wish to procreate with enhanced frequency as well? It's probably fairly safe to assume that if she does manage to work out her needs and desires with peak human frequency, she's going to get slapped with some very mean spirited labels very quickly, so that's a potential social complication (severity depending on era). Also, is she the possessive, jealous type? Cause I can only imagine with horror what cattiness might be like when enhanced to the peak human degree
  11. Re: How (un)realistic are Street Samurai? Here's the thing... Realistically carrying a katana around on a modern battlefield is a pretty bad idea and I think we have adequately outlined many of the reasons why. However, once we start adding in cyberware, advances in materials and other bits of sci-fi that reality might very well change. How it changes is ultimately subject to the style of game. At this point we are deviating from reality by an entirely unknown amount.... we don't know how good the guns, swords, armor, cyberware and so forth are, so who can judge how all these factors may influence combat? Only Ragitsu has all those answers for the style of his game. That said, stylistically there's a million reasons we could come up with to justify street sams running around with katanas, if that's what we actually want to do in game. Some of them may even be pretty realistic reasons, if that fits the tone of the game and our knowledge of the setting...
  12. Re: Maybe they're superheroes? Seen that one before. This Cracked article gives some insight. The whole article is worth reading, but for this particular pic just skip to the bottom.
  13. Re: Victory Reward Babe Only vs Men is probably not an accurate limitation, as I know more than a few ladies that her abilities would work on
  14. Re: Indiana Jones World Map I'm not that hip to world geography, let alone world geography from 40+ years before I was born. So what's wrong here? I note that Burma is the correct name for the era... Issues with the USSR?
  15. Re: "Neat" Pictures Olivia Munn may have been the best part of that whole movie. Hendrick's ample talents were completely wasted though
  16. Re: Cheerleader martial arts? Yeah, I grok why people are suggesting it... LOL... I should just give up... I'm biased towards thicker heavier rattan sticks that wouldn't really allow for some of the complex twirls that people would probably associate with a baton based martial art. The fancy, non martial movements that you see with a baton are pretty impractical and the baton itself isn't much of a weapon... but for a fantastic enough style (like of Kodachi Kuno in Ranma) there's plenty of material to work with...
