  1. Re: My new villain : Panzerfaust (comment welcomed) Is this 5E, 6E or some hybrid? Striking Appearanc is a 6E thing, but you have OCV listed up by DEX as if it were still a figured characterisitc so not sure... Maybe just a bad export template... Also, not sure what your games caps are (if any), but 22+ DC attacks on a starting level villian tend to be a bit much. The combined CV's and advantages, with the already high damage is going to be very dangerous (if not outright deadly!) to characters that aren't built along similar power levels. If they ARE built around similar levels, this character is a glass cannon that will be KOed in one hit. How big is this thing? 50 BODY is an odd choice.
  2. Re: Character Names You Don't Have To Feel Guilty About "Stealing" It's mostly a popularity thing anyhow. You probably can't steal Superman, Batman or Wolverine without SOMEONE being annoyed by it, but less iconic/popular character neames aren't usually a problem.

  4. Re: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien This is actually the plot for Solitary Alignment, which will air NEXT week in the US...
  5. Re: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Well, it was nice to see Fasttrack again. Not too much to go on yet, but I'll be writing him up soon. He obviously has super speed, though apparently he also has some degree of super strength (based on outside info, not really on what we've seen so far). Interestingly, that character is from the Ben 10 Galactic Racing video game, but apparently Peter David wanted to use him, so they put him in this season... I nominate Eatle for worst first transformation ever. Poor guy didn't get a chance to do anything. He's apparently similar to Upchuck, since his power is allegedly to eat things and then fire it off as plasma projected from his horn. We'll see soon... This plot with the Forever Knights, Vilgax, Daagon (sp?), the Esoterica and Azmuth is interesting, but some things just aren't adding up yet...
  6. Re: Do random power SFX games work? This is pretty much exactly what I did with my last game. Ordinary people get powers and are brought into the hidden posthuman world. Worked pretty well overall. Most of the player only figured out one or two powers initially, but they actually had a broad power set and were thus able to specialize and customize the character considerably. One of the players hated his initial powers set (Magnetism), but figured out how to use it to make himself a flying pointy stabby demi-brick and was pretty happy with that. One of the other players initially only had Duplication and seemed kind of "meh" about it, but he got really into it as he explored the implications of his powers. One player loved his powers (initially just Electricity generation/control), but he's (a self-admitted) control freak so he had a hard time dealing with how I built certain abilities for him. But we mostly worked that out with time.
  7. Re: A Thread for Random Videos The timing is off on a few moves, they miss a few times and some of the technique is outright bad. But overall? AWESOME!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1Cfy4d9-to I love the synchronized tricking breaks against a tricking target.

  9. Re: Superheroes to Keep, Superheroes to Lose
  10. Re: Superheroes to Keep, Superheroes to Lose My Ben 10 writeups cover almost 150 episodes of the tv show, plus some of additional info from movies, comics and various toys. When I started working on it, he was barely a 350pt character. These days, he clocks in at over 900pts in his human form. It's amazing how fast they grow up...

  13. Re: Superheroes to Keep, Superheroes to Lose
  14. Re: Superheroes to Keep, Superheroes to Lose hmmm... I don't do a ton of direct homages in my games. The Alan's are basically three Cyclops homages, though they have some other enhanced vision powers. The Weatherman is my worlds Thor, though he's got a lot of Mythic Thor as well as a good dose of Marvel Thor. Speed Demon is sort of a Captain Marvel Jr homage, in regards to the fact he's a disabled guy with a super powerful alter ego. Iron Will is overall pretty unique, but if you break it down I suppose he's influenced by many other characters: - Captain America (the host body is a peak human flagsuit with a shield - a former Nazi ubermensch to be exact) - Firestorm (two minds acting in one body) - Captain Marvel (the second personality is a little boy. He's the moral compass of the team) - Psylock (said little boy is a psychic that uses his telepathy and TK to boost the attributs and fighting abilities of the host body to superhuman levels, including occasionally using a psychic blade known as the Sword of Truth) - Wonder Woman (the sword of truth is more than just a weapon and has that name for a reason...) - with a little bit of Taskmaster and Batman thrown in (psychically absorbs skills, uses a utility belt) The Vanguard is large and powerful superteam and most of them are homages in one way or another. Reboud, for example, is sort of a Spider-man homage.
  15. Re: EPIC Champions--unofficial material, what should I write about? Oddly, the last JLA level game I was invited to never really got off the ground... but I don't think that had anything to do with the power level. I really, really wanted to play that character too, but he's made a fine NPC mentor in my games so at least all the work wasn't wasted Which ultimately could be a good suggestion for play anyhow. Having low power sidekicks or even unaffiliated street level heroes to play from time to time to take a break from saving the universe every week can be a good thing sometimes...
  16. Re: EPIC Champions--unofficial material, what should I write about? I think the Authority mentality (we will make the world a better place, regardless of what the world wants) vs the JLA mentality (maintain the status quo and let normal folks solve many of their own problems) tends to become much more apparent in high point games, if only because people have a much greater ability to actually make a difference if they want to. So, you probably want to make sure everyone is on the same page before things get ugly... though that argument can make for one hell of a game session
  17. Re: Converting inches to mph That's the point though. You think fighter jets get into dog fights doing only 114 km/h? That's only 70 mph. I DRIVE FASTER THAN THAT!!! Modern dogfights occur at supersonic speeds, something that's difficult to accomplish in HERO since you drop to 0 OCV when using NCM/MegaMovement...
  18. Re: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Agreed.
  19. Re: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien That one's not airing in the US til next week, so you'll be seeing his new alien Eatle before us
  20. Re: Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Ben 10/Generator Rex: Heroes United airs tonight in a few hours. I'll be treating the events of the show as canon for purposes of my write ups.
