  1. Personally ... I use the monster as a "Freddy Kruger" type. He's the Boogeyman that everyone's afraid of and exists in the cusp of dreams. How does he become physical? He inhabits the body of childern, who are most susceptible to his form of fear, and uses them as a gate into reality. Imagine the heroes' suprise when they find, after defeating the Monster, that he reverts to the form of a child and, after suspecting the child is the only gate for him, admitting the poor kid in an asylum, only to find out that the Monster is loose, using some other kid as his puppet
  2. The Batman vs. Buffy thing? Batman hands down ... This is the guy who takes down people like Killer Croc & The Joker ... not to mention the JLA at one point. As far as the vampires, dig up Action Comics Annual #1 (post-crisis, mid-80s) for my answer to that one ... Red Rain is another example
  3. I remember my first V&V campaign that a friend ran for me back in high school ... he used Damien as an adult who was running for mayor of the campaign city and, after discovering his dirty infernal secret, we had to stop him. He was a great "low-tech" villain who became a major menace as the adventure proceeded
  4. There are a few problems with that unfortunatly ... my FLGS will "special" order things for customers, but those customers are required to purchase them. Few cons come here anymore ... though I try to hit GC when I can (so far only attending one ). I looked at the DG preview and it looks neat ... but I'm still not 100% on snatching it up yet. Maybe if I run across it sometime ...
  5. I dunno ... that doesn't explain how he can toss Batman off him so easily many times ... the MA works for somethings, but he's shown some odd bursts of actually strength occasionally ...
  6. Personally, I've never been able to paruse a copy of SA:CoH ... and thus is the reason why I've never purchased it. I like to preview books before I snag them, and by preview, I mean looking through them and looking to see how applicable it is for my campaign I have seen the Denizens book and found it interesting to see the non-powered types fleshed out ... but once again, I haven't picked it up due to lack of owning the SA:CoH book. Will I get it? Well, if my FLGS gets a copy or if I happened to see one on a shelf I may ... but if not, I'm just not sure. Is GRG going to do an open playtest of the book? Or do you need a group of playtesters? If so, I'd love to be able to take a look at the book and see what's planned ...
  7. I recommend reading some stuff like Spider-Man, Captain America, Superman and Green Lantern These titles give some good examples of solo-hero action IMHO. As far as her character, ask her what her favorite characters from SFX movies & cartoons are ... this should help you gage what to do. I would also recommend showing her something like a DC Secret Files or one of the Marvel Encyclopedias and get her opinion on some of the characters. Solo games are REAL fun ... but remember to keep most of her rogue's gallery close to her point value, with the mastermind characters being more powerful as needed
  8. A few things that I like are: A sentient computer - Taking up a room itself, the computer actually uses holoprojectors to bring up various screens for research, news and other important items. (Not to mention what happens when Mechanon gets ahold of it ) A monitor womb - Stealing from JL, the womb is a tube that has several screens around it. From here, the hero on monitor duty has access to news around the world. An exit arm - Looking more like a tower that appears out from a hidden base, this direct rip-off of Transformers G1 (Remember the Decepticons base?) allows the heroes to have a vehicle in the arm that, when extended, allows it an easy take-off/exit
  9. That's a cool write-up Susano I would add a few things myself: Followers ... Joker always has a few shlumps following him ... not to mention a few contacts with other Bat-Rogues I would also lower his Strength to 15 ... but give him a +10 Str with some rage-linked limits ... he tends to have that psychotic strength
  10. I would say either a Psych Lim: Policeman's Code of Honor or maybe (for honest cops) Psych Lim: Lawabiding (sp?) ... they'd also have the Soc Lim: Subject to Orders
  11. You know ... it's nice seeing Terror Inc again ... and after seeing Mangog's Muerte and reading the latest issues of Outsiders & Teen Titans, I decided to work on a sketch of the good Professor Maybe I'll finish it sometime ...
  12. Thanks Rob It was one of my favs
  13. Simple ... he's actually Batman
  14. Could you give more info on this? Like what it does exactly?
  15. Not to mention Hank Henshaw and some friends in Superman. Of course, instead of making the FF, all but Henshaw died and made Hank into the "Cyborg Superman"
  16. Okay ... I just got out of this movie and all I have to say is WHOA! I loved this flick!! I would like to thank Susano and Hero for the Ninja Hero book ... So, what'ya say Mike? Can we expect some nifty write-ups of The Bride?
  17. Check your local PC Software store ... it's a PC game that''s quite fun I'll have more conversions soon
  18. I've done this a few times ... mostly with some villains that the heroes put in jail and had them run into them while they were doing Probation They were actually formed under the Primus banner as a joint co-op with Stronghold and organized by an unwanted Silver Avenger under the name Project: Conscript ... though they were affectionatly called "The Conscript Corps" by the SA
  19. Last one for tonight ... this one's Tempus ...
  20. Here's one of Headhunter ... a beefed up super-merc
  21. Okay ... let's try this again
  22. Okay ... let's try this again
  23. Here's a character that I had worked on a bit ago named Mano ... I may post his stats sometime in the future
  24. Personally, I'd like to see Defender get a few followers that help him via comlink ... kinda like the Defender from CNM The armor idea makes a great choice ... but he needs a small Mecha too ... it could be the Grond-buster armor
