  1. Hey Gang, I've been tapped into Tron 2.0 lately and decided to write-up some of the powers presented there Lemme know what you think ... ID Disk: Multipower, 60-point reserve, (60 Active Points); all slots: OIF (ID Disk; -1/2) 1) Basic Throw: EB 8d6, Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (60 Active Points); OIF (ID Disk; -1/2) Total Cost: 4u 2) Disk Block: Missile Deflection (Thrown Objects), Missile Reflection, Reflect At Any Target (35 Active Points); Only Against Other Disks Power loses about a third of its effectiveness (-1/2), OIF (ID Disk; -1/2) Total Cost: 2u 3) Sequencer Disk: EB 8d6, Autofire (3 shots; +1/4) (50 Active Points); OIF (ID Disk; -1/2) Total Cost: 3u 4) Cluster Disk: EB 8d6, Explosion (+1/2) (60 Active Points); OIF (ID Disk; -1/2) Total Cost: 4u
  2. Personally Jm ... I've been in a similar situation when I was GMing Champions a few years back. The characters were attacked by Genocide and, when battling them, one of the characters nuked a van (which was an arsenal van), which then blew up and did quite a bit of property damage, as well as killing a few innocents. When the cops arrived, the hero in question was taken in for interrogation and was charged with the deaths of the innocents, as well as being sued by some of the property owners. This actually sparked anti-cape behavoir for quite sometime ... especially since the hero got off with some community service Back to the point though ... I'd talk to your GM and ask him what's going on and maybe get some explaination ... I also would recommend in-character, reporting the others to the law How are you liking that new Marvel game BTW?
  3. The setting that I've been working on is most definitly space opera, so I would classify it as "Sci-Fi Plus" ... think Anime + Star Wars + Battlestar Galactica + Wing Commander + B5 + a horde of smaller stuff
  4. The Champions in my campaign are slightly different ... I've added a few old members and made a reserve team like any good super hero team should have Defender (FRED): I've strayed from the Tony Stark stereotype and slowly moved closer to J. Henry Irons from Superman with a touch of Blue Beetle He's slowly going to start loosing his company to a larger science firm and given an option: toe the line or find some place else to work. He'll do the latter, working as a freelance engineer with several contracts with the city and the private sector. Nighthawk (FRED): I like the idea of his identity getting exposed ... and I think I may take it to the next level, causing him to have severe problems with the public having that knowledge now. In the end, he's probably going to go rogue until he can find some way of containing the situation or coping. Ironclad (FRED): Having a fellow gladiator in the team (Obsidian) has helped Ironclad feel more at home and at ease. I see him as the Martian Manhunter of the group: someone who's strived to find his place amoung a different species and he's found that with the help of Obsidian. Given time, he'll begin to share his species' technology with his teammates and those that he approves, giving the world some leaps in technology. Sapphire (FRED): After a stint in a teen hero team, Sapphire returns to the Champions with a newfound responsibility. She now understands what it's like to be a hero and exactly what she needs to do with her popularity. I don't see her so much as an activist, but as someone who supports movements publically Witchfire (FRED): I see her going Raven for an adventure, but, with the help of the team, overcoming the evil and becoming a stronger hero. I see her akin to the Scarlet Witch and the Wasp in the end: a strong leader that takes over the team and helps lead the Champions into a new age. Kinetik (CU): Brought in with the whole Nighthawk situation, Kinetik adapted as quickly as he moves, taking on the mantle of a Champion with pride. Of all the heroes as I see as an activist, I see Kinetik being the primary candidate, using his roles as a Champion to bring attention to inner-city kids. Obsidian (BBB): Formerly a prince, Obsidian was abducted and forced to fight as a galactic gladiator. Being freed by the Champions back in the 90s, he fought by their side for six long years until when he took leave and went home. Returning some years later, he found a new group of heroes (as well as a familar face) and has served as a reserve member as well as a training instructor for some of the new breed of heroes in the Teen Champions. Jaguar (BBB): Being a Champion only for a few short years in the early 90s, Jaguar lost control of his form and is currently being hunted for several cases of manslaughter across the Americas. The Champions have just recently heard of this and intend on bringing in one of their own ... Quasar (BBB/CNM): Tired of being constrained, Quasar quit the Champions in '98 and has taken to being an independant hero. Since she left, she's learned that it's nice to have friends and, as such, she's taken up being a reserve member of the Champions. Seeker (BBB/CNM): One of the Teen Champions, Seeker has taken on the role of the yuckster in the group. He loves a good joke and usually slings wisecracks while fighting. His arrogant nature and ability to make people laugh has attracted Solitaire's attention and the two have started a relationship. Solitaire (BBB/CNM): Another member of the Teen Champions, Solitaire helped the Champions fend off an attack by Demon when their membership was low. Offering her a seat in the Teen Champions, the mage jumped at the chance. She has grown enamoured with Seeker since and seems to have a hidden agenda. Starburst (BBB): Formerly a Viper operative sent to spy on the Champions, Starburst redeemed himself when he turned against the snakey bunch. Offered a seat in the Teen Champions, Starburst took it and was made leader after his decisive nature. I know I'm forgetting the dude in CNM that was part demon, but I don't have the book handy. In the campaign, he's actually turned to villainy and joined Demon ... whether this is intentional or some kind of spell is unknown ...
  5. I just saw the first DVD last week ... and I gotta say that the series has some neat stuff in it I agree with the "one-trick pony" bit, but I'm willing to stay tuned and watch for some evolution
  6. How aout using Princes of the Universe for Firewing
  7. I dunno ... Cherry Bomb could work
  8. In my campaign, the original Stronghold was nuked by a loose confederation of villains bent on causing as much chaos as possible. After that event, the UN stepped in and rebuilt it as an artifical island in the Pacific Ocean that UNTIL monitored. I also had it so several major cities had temporary Stronghold pens that were used to hold villains before they were transported out to Stronghold Island. The UNTIL soldiers that are placed on the island are given low-level power suits that help protect them from the inmates and also allow for communication ease. There were also a few heroes that were considered Stronghold staff and a few members of the larger groups who volunteered X many hours per week to the prison in exchange for database updates. As for armor protocol ... I always ran that any gadgets or gizmos that needed to be studied were transported to my version of STAR Labs for examination/investigation, even if it's a duplicate (gadgeteers are always upgrading their gadgets). For standard weapons that were only slightly above the tech-level, they were placed in the island's armoury, which also houses the turtle-shell armor and larger weapons employed by base personelle. Sketchpad ... hoping that FOX isn't reading and make the next reality show "Stronghold Island" before he does
  9. Here's a few more: Crimson Storm Blood Bolt Crimsyn Redshift Redline Volt Megawatt Megavolt
  10. Re: Movie Yup ... Equilibrium was a great movie I've actually thought about making "Gun Kata" into a martial arts sometime
  11. No ... the Island of Dr. Apocalypse was for V&V Preceeded by the cool module Death Duel with the Destroyers The Island of Dr. Destroyer was a module that was updated to BBB in the GM Screen pack
  12. This was mentioned in another thread and I wasn't sure if it was mentioned here, but I'd like to see the return of Dr. McQuark I always loved using this character and he'd make a great tour guide through the book
  13. Strikeforce was indeed awesome! I also liked the Circle/METE, Blood & Dr. McQuark, the Champions Presents with The Coil and The Island of Dr. Destroyer
  14. Hiya Gang, I was working on some Champions stuff and started thinking back to various books ... stuff like METE, The Circle, Blood, Dr. McQuark and some others ...anyone ever do anymore work with these in their current campaigns? Am I drudging something up that people are just going to stare vacantly at me with? I don't suppose that Hero is thinking of resurrecting any of these?
  15. Yup ... he happened to write one of the greatest stories in comics history. I speak of the Judas Contract. It was also in this story that we were introduced to Jericho, where a former sidekick became Nightwing and some groundwork for stories that are still being written today was created As far as the DC Comic with Marvel feel ... I believe that's because they were head to head with Marvel's X-Men ... though IMHO the Titans of that era exceeded the mighty mutants by miles as the stories were thought out and, though complicated, usually had a beginning and ending. Claremont, other wise known as the Dangling Plot in his hero ID, rarely ended things. I'll take Wolfman and Perez over anyone
  16. Re: Hey Sketchpad I did the same ... I pumped up his strength and made him REALLY hard to kill ... he could be knocked down, but keeping him down was the problem Anyway, I used him as a nemesis for a female hero who he had "taken a liking too" ... kinda like Solomon Grundy meets Jason Vorhees
  17. Does anyone have any rules for Gun Fu? I was thinking about making it a martial arts and wondered if anyone had already?
  18. Personally, I'd go with DG's Indirect solution myself ... but I'd also make the power in question a RKA and not an EB
  19. On Magmarock's suggestion: Here's a rough of Hideous that I had used as a major villain at one point
  20. Here's a piece I just finished for a client It was pro-bono, so I can show it
  21. Finding a library in a seemingly abandoned underground lair ...the party investigates with only the non-literate barbarian staying outside the room. After looking through the books for 15 mins., the players suddenly start acting out against each other. Not really sure what to do, the Barbarian goes in and incapacitates his friends one by one, dragging them into the hallway. As they recover, he turns to the library and says stonefaced: "No good can come from books ..."
  22. On the plus side, the next episode with Aqualad is written by none other than Marv Wolfman himself ... I hope it's as good as his writing used to be
  23. Cool ... worked Thanks Blue
  24. Personally, I love the theme But then ... I'm weird like that
