  1. You know I really haven't. It is an interesting idea though. I might have to see if I can pull this off sometime. (unlikely though, I think sometimes I really suck as an RPGer)
  2. I'm not sure that's possible, CNN just ran it as a story
  3. For some odd reason I've always wanted to use someone like him as a villain, but I don't think I can pull it off.
  4. In the current FH game I'm playing in, the Hit Locations really don't hender it too much. Since all the character sheets have the location table on it, its fairly painless.
  5. Glad you can afford comics these days, I swear they are more expensive then drugs these days. (of course I have my own addiction as well, I have over $8,000 in UHF, VHF, and 6meter Radio Gear)
  6. Well I use a variety of appoaches. I use cardstock figures for the most part due to its easy of availablity and I print them out on my printer. I also use some fiqures from the Foundry's Street Violence Line. I also use whatever else is handy. I've looked at the SAS minis, not to bad, I might pick them up, but I'm not too sure yet. I've also heard good things about the HeroClix stuff, but I'm still not quite sure myself.
  7. No you don't need to hide, but I think people would love to send CLOWN after you.
  8. Re: It has arrived! I'm green with envy. I'm sure thought they my FLGS will have it around next friday then. They are at least good for something.
  9. Actually its not, but as the FRED points out, 5pt CSL are the first CSL that can actually take limiations. Of course as usual you will need GM approval as well.
  10. Sadly several PC would rather just "nuke" the building, they are not art lovers. Only kidding. To be truthful, this would be a hard on for the current group of players. I'm not sure they are quite ready to think outside the box. However they could attempt to take him out without killing him, stun-only and NND attacks to the rescue. This would assume he didn't have a switch that went off when he dropped.
  11. Re: Re: Levels w/DCV for Sweeps While it applies to any OCV penalties, 2 pts CSL do not ever add to DCV, which is what the original poster was trying to fiqure out how to do.
  12. Well an option you have not considered is to actually use the optional Sweep maneuver from the FRED. It basically allows you to make more than one attack in a phase. While not perfect it might be better to do it this way. As for autofire and martial arts, as far as I know that's not really allowed. You would need to buy HKA attack with autofire instead to simulate it. For example the epee attack in question would have to built so that the HKA equaled the epee's DCs. In a heroic game I might allows someone to buy a naked advantage of autofire to apply only to an epee attack. In a supers game almost never.
  13. I've used it a bit, there are some problems with it. There seems to be not enough skill sets and disadvantage sets for one. However using it as a springboard works rather well. With HD I have prefabs of everthing and it cuts down on making quick and dirty NPC heroes.
  14. Power DEF, works against all of them. Some people tend to have a problem with that and force people to talk limitations on the power to reflect its defense vs only one type of drain/transfer.
  15. Steve if they are magic, you might want to keep them under glass to prevent the magic from escaping.
  16. Re: Levels w/DCV for Sweeps Question 1 I'd likley buy it as +1 DCV Skill level with a -1/2 limation only with sweeps. Works about to 5/(1.5) = 3pts. Now that's not too cheap really. Even if you make it a -1 limiations its still 2pts per skill level. Question 2 Yes it gets halved afterwards, since you add all DCV skill levels first before you modifiy it for the manuever.
  17. I thought vehicle could be repaired at the rate of 1 body per day including destoryed vehicles. Of course I'm sure are exceptions.
  18. Re: TUV PA or Champions PA? I think it would depend on the game in question, but for the most part I'd have to say no. There are only two way I can think of allowing something like that. if build it out of VPP gadget, then you have to pay full pts and not pts/5. So I would allow that. The other way would be if entire team was built along the same lines. Those are the only two exceptions I can think of.
  19. You know I've never really seen the Normal vs Killing damage issue come up in play all that much. Most genres tend to use one or the other for the most part. When everyone is using the same type of damage, it doesn't seem to come up. About the only place, I even seen it is in a Champions style game when a Killing attack had a massive stun multiplier built in. Now is there a chance for a really good payoff for a killing attack, yes I think so. Does it come up in play a bunch, not as often as my players would like I'm sure. Of course this item as they say cuts both ways. What works for the players also works against them. Just because its an advantage to the players doesn't mean its also a limitation. Of course should one change the game to suit one's personal perference, sure. After all what the hell is gaming about if you can't do that, we are not drones.
  20. While this might be in the Champions book, I know it was in The old Strike Force book.(which I still reread every once in a while). In my current campaign, I'm going to be following the suggestion of giving the players a base/vehicle for free, but have them pay for any impovements. Since both are fairly barebones, most players will want to spend pts to improve the place.
  21. Ah the Golden Rule of ANY (and I do mean ANY) game system. I couldn't agree with you more. No matter what Rule of X you like or prefer, its still up to the GM to look over the character and see if anything just doesn't click with his vision of the game. I've had players look at me funny when I told them I wasn't going to allow them to have certain combinations of powers and/or advantages, because although logical tended to be to advantageous to the player and would unbalance the game. Luckily, most players are reasonible in our group. We tend to show unreasonible players who have joined our group the door in short order.
  22. You know this thread is really wierd, I was talking to a friend about this movie just the other day. Guess there really is a cosmic conciseness
  23. Agreed, the JL Cartoon GL seem to not be very creative at all. As to question, the closest I think I've seen is a form of FTL communication, but its not really telepathic. To add a twist to this whole power issue, I remember an Issue, I think it was the Emerald Dawn Mini-Series, where it seemed as if the ring actually had what I would classify in hero terms a computer system. This leads me to a question of my own. Would you classify the ring as focus, OHID, or SFX? While it seems to be a focus, Its almost seems to be SFX in many of the comic issue. (Guess it really depends on the story needs).
  24. I'm thought about this off and on several times. There are three basic ways to do it. 1) use VPP only. While this has the most flexiblity it is a huge point hog. 2) use a MP. This is a bit more reasonable, but you get stuck a few minor things that GL should do. 3) use a MP for the common powers, ie Flight, EB, FF, etc and use a small VPP for the misc power usages. Personally this is the approach I think that works well, you get the normal everday things GL is doing at normal costs and then only have to pony up points for a small VPP that allows for other creative uses. Well that's just my own non-sense for people to reject.
  25. no problem, I think we all forget what's in the FAQ. Hell if I didn't keep a copy of the FAQ PDF in my PDA, I'll lilely forget about it.
