Heck, I had pretty much abandoned the system. It IS the system that I know the best. So when the players wanted to play Supers, it was the game I chose.

We are running a beginning 6e Champions Game.

    Dex 18, SPD 5, DC10 (62 active), CV 7 as our averages.
    So Skill levels (yet)

The PCs are the newest hosts for Beings that are Iconic for a character type.

    Developing

    I'm BACK!!

"Stunned" has always meant what you call CON-Stunned.  "Unconscious" is when a character takes enough STUN damage to leave them at 0 or negative STUN.

As the title says, I think 6e is the best version of the rules published. However, I see grumbling and shade thrown on it here and there by various posters on these hallowed forums. Now, as it happens, I am aware of the broad strokes of the most common gripes people voice, but in the interests of collation and collegial discourse, I invite people to forward their personal arguments as to why they do not feel that 6e is the best version of the rules. Please keep it polite and in the spirit of reasonable discussion, and if it comes to it, friendly disagreement.

I want Hero to make a fully realized fully built out Fantasy World. Including Spells, Fighting styles, History, Full color maps, Hero System rules. Everything but power building rules. Everything that a GM needs to run games in that fantasy world. It could be a Rulebook and a Gazetteer style book (ie Pathfinder Core and Inner Sea World Guide). I would also like to see the same thing done to Superheroes. the idea would be for the writeup to be minimal nothing extra and to keep things very simple. Self contained would be the watchword. GM's wanting more customization would be pointed at Champions Complete and Fantasy Hero Complete. Writeups of all equipment, spells etc with all of the costs in them would be available using Bits & Mortar service.

Also something that crosses Savage Worlds Plot point campaigns with Paizo's Adventure path. ie Something that has a strong plotline, but also has some side adventures/quests for variety. Because adventures actually drives sales of other books. GM's need adventures and campaigns. Making it easy for the GM to run will generate sales of the books because they will want to run the game.

I would also love to see more Champions Miniatures. Perhaps WizKids can do some HeroClix of the Champions Universe characters.

Well, I wish it all success, but I'll be passing.

I really haven't been doing much of anything with Hero even though Champs is my favorite RPG

Pretty much the only gaming I do now is with fully supported systems.  And by fully supported, I mean systems that put out pre-built adventures.   I only know 2 people that are running anything homebrew, and one of them is running a full on crawl.  The primary reason is ee all work full time and most have family obligations.  Limited free time.

So I am playing in a D&D 5th league game and when I run itbis usually a GUMSHOE or Call of Cthulhu scenario.

I love to run mystery/investigation games and have been working on a Supers campaign for a while.  But constructing a investigatve based campaign is detail intensive.  Once I complete the spine and enough side branches to a viable level, I'll decide on game system and begin plugging in Villians and stat'ing them out.

But for now I really do not need yet another ruleset or yet anothet advice document.

What I need in a gaming product is self contained general adventures that can played stand alone or pluged into a campaign if I ever start having enough time to actually write/run one again.

Pretty much every successful RPG found in full distribution in actual stores have full lines of adventures.  The local FLGS's can't keep them in stock.

For me I will have to shift my attention and funds to games I will actually have a realistic expectation of playing.  Ones with not just rulesets, but also a solid support in adventures/scenarios.

if they arwe going to give away PDFs of Champions III as well as Champions 3rd for the KS, they might want to seriously consider including the errata for both products that was published in Adventurers Club #6, Champions III had some major errata issues.

    Is there a transcript?

The over-reliance on PODcasts and videos is the primary reason my gaming related spending has plummeted to a fraction of what it was.  I have very little free time and I'd rather actually play then waste hours grinding through audio/video on the off chance someone might accidentally answer a question.

I can read/skim the transcript of an hour long cast in minutes.  But 1, 2 or 3 HOURS of someone talking says: Go away I don't want your money.

A concise written description is how you sell something to employed adults.

It's not just this KS.  It is the overall laziness that has overtaken the gaming industry at large.  If I watched/listened all of the monthly 'cast/videos that now pass for company updates I would never be able to actually game again.

I started off as a backer for this, but the more I hear from Ron about the project the more it sounds like a breakdown a psychology or social structure. He spending so much time analyzing every little thing That he is not making me at all excited about this. After the update today I felt so lackluster that I just went ahead and canceled my support.

There is zero need for two versions of this product. If you’re revising the rules for now then those are the only rule is that you should need. Most people who are going to back this for nostalgia already have a copy of the original rules anyway.

Best of luck and I hope that your project funds

Between the full 6E rules, and the two Advanced Players Guide(s), it's hard to find a subject that isn't addressed by the rules in some way. By this stage Hero System has been refined to within an inch of its life. Many players may prefer that certain specific situations were handled differently, which they would consider "better"; but the definition of what would be better varies considerably depending on the individual player.

Roger Zelazney's Amber novels (the basis of the dice less RPG) feature characters with signature items they could always find again eventually no matter how they were lost or taken. So I think a point investment from the beginning means a  back story and something special should be part of it as well.

Yes, I totally agree that Captain Patriot wouldn't have Eastern Martial Arts.

It should be an archetype that is available. Heck we have had Chinese in this country since at least after the Civil War. It's very possible to have a Golden Age Asian Superhero. This shouldn't be white centric in what we think is possible. There were also Japanese in this country as well. There are plenty of reasons for there to be a Martial Arts Supers.

The Show was a genre mashup of the very popular Super Spy which was ruling TV at the time and of course Westerns which had always been popular. It was a very well done show with great characters and good writing. It would have stayed on the air longer, but IIRC Ross Martin (Artemus Gordon) had a heart attack and couldn't continue.

It's great RPG fodder esp if the players are into the Wild West and are looking for something different than the regular Western Storylines. As an RPG it could be fun doing a mashup between this show and Mission Impossible(Tv Show over the Movies). Where the players are "Secret Service" agents who unravel plots put there by enemies of the US Government. Give it all a slight Steampunk veneer with some fantastic critters tossed in to keep it interesting. You have the Gun Fighter, the Disguise expert, Demolitions expert, Faceperson, Technician. etc. Keep the character types spy feeling, but give it a western spin/flavoring
