  1. Re: Total NEWB gushing over how amazing this forum is Very good, now how do you build a fleshlight?
  2. Re: Zones of Control in Hero Am I the only one that thinks duplication for this?
  3. Re: Required hit loaction Not sure why getting stabbed in the foot should adversely affect my lockpicking roll... just thinking out loud. Perhaps DCV drain linked to movement drain.
  4. Re: Dragon-Trainers and Dragon-Riders Point of order, ma lud! A British female naturalist found the teeth of pygmy elephants on the island of Cyprus. edit: Dwarf elephants and remains have been found on many Mediteranian Islands. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwarf_elephant

  6. Re: Reflexive Discorporation The problem with the desold route is the 'Affects world' advantage on his str powers etc. Buy the desolid in an MP with large defensive powers in another slot to simulate attacks not damaging him.
  7. Re: Death Becomes me, help me figure it out? Can you describe all that in plain English and we'll help you translate it into Hero language. Otherwise I can't help as I haven't a clue what you're typing about.
  8. Re: There are three things I can never remember. They are...um...there are FOUR thin Borne never ever fails to use a skill he has learned... even if he doesn't conciously know he has the skill. This makes sense as normally to attain his level of skill he shows he'll have trained so much that his body will be doing things before he can think what he should do next. It has become instinctive. By all means give him a Physical Complication to represent the fact that he's lost his memory but at no point does he forget how to do something. The info is gone but not the how. My €0.02.
  9. Re: Dragon-Trainers and Dragon-Riders I stole the cancept of the Valhru form 'The Magician' (by Raymond E Feist) for my campaign. A PC stumbled onto armour which was basically a portal for the long dead Dragon Rider to come back to life in a new body. Soon after the player started wrestling with his demons he stopped playing and the Valhru took over him. Shortly after he brought all the sleeping dragons on the planet back to life and they started running amok. The first, and only, he has so far encountered, which he could master, was a wvyrn which he now uses as a mount. Proper fully grown Dragons are too difficult to control even for the Dragon Lord as he hasn't grown into his full power yet and dragons haven't started to breed yet. If a powerful enough magician could capture a hatchling then perhaps he might be able to train one like you would a hunting hawk. Perhaps. That is my thinking on the subject for my campaign.
  10. Re: Weaponmaster of the Knife What Nevenal said.
  11. Re: There are three things I can never remember. They are...um...there are FOUR thin We have seen how this works in the movies with Jason Borne. The character has amnesia and doesn't know most of his abilities but the person making the subconcious decisions of how he reacts, in Borne's case the director, knows his character sheet. He knows he can block, throw, and punch. He knows he's fast and tough and can drive like a crazy sumbitch on speed. He knows Borne can shoot a gun and all the rest. I reckon it's just the mechanics of the story and down to roleplaying, not a particular limitation to remember skills. Borne had the skillset whenever it was needed.
  12. Re: Gladiators vs Werewolves Gladiatrix.
  13. Re: New Gamers You don't need to have a driving license to buy a car. You could happily buy one and drive it on private property or give it away as a gift. 26 years gaming, and started in Hero when Champions II was released. First game I bought was D&D Expert boxed set. I had no idea I needed the basic set too.
  14. Re: Gladiators vs Werewolves No of course not, but it was pertinent to the point being made: Geographical Jiggery Pokery for the sake of a film.
  15. Re: Gladiators vs Werewolves They recently found the foundations of the bridge in the river just a few yards from where they suspected it would be. Funny thing is that the bridge doesn't cross the river straight but at an angle which makes the bridge bigger than would have been needed. They're not sure why. The Robin Hood movie with kevin Costner is guilty of this. He lands at Dover and says he'll be in Nottingham by nightfall. Hope you have a good horse, kid.
  16. Re: 6th edition Min Str I don't play D&D hero. FH is perfect for 'gritty' if we could add an infection mechanic after a wound we'd be there. Too gritty even for me perhaps to have characters limbs sawed off after taking serious wounds.
  17. Re: Gladiators vs Werewolves I'll be keeping an eye on you in future, Rex.
  18. Re: Gladiators vs Werewolves I must stop you there, lowland beasties in their mountain lair? The lowlands are called the lowlands becuase we don't have mountains there. We have rolling hills and plains. The clue is in the name. The locals are savage beasts to this day, of course, but don't inhabit mountain lairs. Some can even change into frothing wild-eyed maniacs, mad with blood lust and ready to take on anyone in mortal combat. But normally at weekend and only after imbibing a magical potion known as 'Buckfast'.
  19. Re: 6th edition Min Str Rep Da Old man. I feel exactly the same.
  20. Re: 6th edition Min Str As a quick and dirty rule I'll make a few different sizes of weapons. Tiny, small, medium, large and extra large. Str min 5 for tiny weapons. (daggers hatchets etc) all will do 2dc, can be thrown Str min 8 for small weapons and will do 3dc Str min 11 for medium 4dc Str min 13 for 1.5 handers 5dc Str min 17 for 6dc 2handers Then I'll differentiate between them with different abilities An axe will do an extra dc, as sword extra ocv, a flail can use flail maneuver, a spear set v charge and is a long weapon, a pick/ stilleto -1 dc but is Ap etc. I'll have a look at this ion detail later as I'm getting ready to restart our campaign in 6e.
  21. Re: Field/Camping Gear But we're talking about someone who has survival or they won't get any bonuses for the gear. So If someone with the survival skill has a tent and basic equiment, food and water then he can survive. Why are we wanting him to make a roll? If we take away the tent, or the food, add a blizzard or what have you then he can make a roll ot survive but anyone with survival training will be able to live in the wild with adequate food, water and shelter. edit: ignore this I just read the rest of Ragnorak's post.
  22. Re: Field/Camping Gear Do we really need to stat up everything? If they have survival basics like a tent, water, a small axe, food, basic first aid kit etc, people can survive without make survival skill rolls.
  23. Re: Teen superhumans but no adult ones Young people, full of angst and hormones ruling the world with nothing anyone over 25 can do about it. :scared:
  24. Re: Dog of War Surely the dog was worth tasering?
  25. Re: Pseudo-elf race as monsters I toyed with making elves as half man/ half monkey savage jungle types. Prehensile feet, very, very strong, quick & nimble attack in gangs from the trees, great swingers and climbers, etc. Still might.
