  1. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Tyros is a world beater NPC in Worldmaker's Global Guardians Universe. This was his 'birthday present' for lack of a better term. Great work Storn. Hawksmoor
  2. Re: Superhero Football The only rules where that you had to keep the ball in bounds at all times and that you could not destroy the ball. So no teleporting the ball or atomizing the ball. But, if you want to fly real high and spike the ball, no problem, if you want to send a dozen image duplicates of the ball on the serve, no problem, if you want to use your concussive force blasts to return the volley no problem. Strangely only the telepath didn't like the game since she couldn't do anything neat with the powers she had. Made me want to suggest a Mental Powers VPP so she could precog the location of the ball and get to it before it landed. Hawksmoor
  3. Re: Daxamites Just to clarify. Daxamites need exposure to yellow sun radiation to activate their powerset. The three Daxamite observers of the Invasion got suddenly very powerful once they got here. Incidentally, one of those observers was Lar Gand/Mon El/Valor's father. The serum developed by Brainac 5 allowed Mon El and Laurel Gand to maintain their powers under any sun and made them immune to lead poisoning. Hawksmoor
  4. Re: Superhero Football We always played 2 on 2 Volleyball. Played on a football field it was good. Gave lots of actions for held and set, lots of DEX or Athletic Skill rolls. And Grond totally rocked it! Hawksmoor
  5. Re: Daxamites Which was roughly proved by the hyperbole spewing Dev-Em in the time and time again story arc (post crisis/pre Zero hour). Laurel Gand warned Superman that Dev-Em was stronger than Kal but we saw absolutely no evidence of that fact. Dev-Em seemed if anything weaker than Superman. Hawksmoor
  6. Re: Daxamites Daxamites are almost exactly like Kryptonians in the powerset. Lead is fatal, to them, a single exposure is enough to kill one slowly, unlike Kryptonite which Superman recovers from. Daxamites are more powerful than the average Kryptonian would be though. Mon-El is considered stronger than Superman. Laurel Gand/Andromeda is weaker in that most females are weaker than equivalent fitness males in raw muscle output. The trick is that Kal-El/Clark Kent is not a average Kryptonian. He is a Kryptonian that engages in regular intensive exercise. He is the Blue Beetle, or Sentry of the Kryptonians. Hawksmoor
  7. Re: Compound Power or HtH Attack? Like was said before Energy Blast is the power used for this purpose. Clunky I know but Damage Shield turns ranged attacks into no range attacks that target everyone that touches the character. Hawksmoor
  8. Re: Quick, Easy Mental CoM Question I also would cost it at the 10 point level. If cyberpaths and well just plain hackers with access to his OS can mess with him a la Robocop or RE: Apocalpse then the disadvantage is a good one. Hawksmoor

    Solara

Re: Solara I respect Mark Rand's creativity, but gloved women always get the best gigs in his world. I told him before I like Femforce type books, but sometimes Mark gets extreme. This is one of them. Hawksmoor

    Solara

Re: Solara And a superpowered chick fetish. If he had only allowed the boy to get the powers and stay a boy... :Prescribes some meds for Mark: There take four of these and call me when you think that males make good supers too. Hawksmoor
  11. Re: Classic Silver Aged Style Team Rosters No, as the character evolved he definitely became a Marvel version of Hal Jordan. The Protector of the Universe and all that. Jeez! I loved that comic. Hawksmoor
  12. Re: Mental Powers Glad we could help. Hawksmoor -Let's see if I am actually on Fox1's Ignore shall we?
  13. Re: Thinking Differently About SPD I ruled in the Damocles Directive game in the GGU, and in my small F2F game, that I did not want to have any PCs with greater than a 6 Speed. I had a 9 speed PC briefly and felt that was too fast, especially for the constraints of a PBEM. Further I believe that SPEED score does not make the speedster. Lightning Reflexes or DEX, Defense Manuver 1-4, Speed Tricks MP, and of course a high movement rate those are the defining features of a speedster. Using this philosophy a great speedster could be developed on any speed score you assigned. I have one based on a streamlined SPEED F2F game with a 4 Speed (but then all Supers have a 4 speed in that game).
  14. Re: How build a "Cerbral Hard Disk" Yet a datatheif character like the one I played in a Mechwarriors game would benefit greatly. I built this ability for my Robotman PC in the Global Guardians like this: PKG Flash Memory *only electronic information or data from other electronic devices. Eidetic Memory (I custom addered the Detect roll to increase his recollection rate to 20-) Speed Reading 10,000x This represented his ability to download tremendous amounts of information in a short period of time and store the information indefinitely.
  15. Re: Mental Powers Fox1 Points are the core of the HERO system. That is why there are little point costs behind all those constructs. Given the benefit and drawbacks of the Classes of Mind system a point cost should be assigned somewhere. To suggest otherwise is silly. Hawksmoor
  16. Re: Champs Worldwide: Whaddya want? The thing is Destroyer really isn't you know a destroyer. Sure in the CU he leveled Detroit. I do that with my civic once a week. There is a reason Detroit has had a declining population the last 40 years. Back to the subject. Dr. Destroyer is a world conquering megavillian with schemes that are as grandiose as they are multifaceted. Thus he is schemer more than a destroyer. I would see the cover of a Destroyer book with him standing on the steps of the Capitol building in Washington DC with the heads of government kneeling to him surrounded by hordes of agents and destroids. The backdrop would include the Champions in some sort of uncomfortable situation like being disected by molecular lasers. For the title. I go with: Endless Schemes: From the memoirs of Albert Zerstoiten Hawksmoor
  17. Re: Mental Powers I want to intrude on this thread again. Seems our view of classes of minds got another wrinkle today. Steve just ruled in the Questions Forum that Automatons are immune to mental powers unless they take a physical limitation stating that certain mental powers effect them. This immunity overrides the class of mind that by SFX a given Automaton would be subject to. Hawksmoor
  18. Re: Superhero Images I liked the pic. Ultra or not, the art is good. Plus I know how busy you are. Hawksmoor
  19. Re: Superhero Images Same idea just white with a gold cape. Do you have a non colored version? Hawksmoor
  20. Re: Superhero Images I like it. That might do for Hyperion if you adjust the color schema. Hawksmoor
  21. Re: your thoughts on size Are you refering to Archer's suggestion? If not the little power here, little stat there with a size notation is the 5er way. Hawksmoor
  22. Re: your thoughts on size I think that perhaps we should divorce ourselves from the 5 pt per level of Growth construct when using scale and increase the cost to 10 or 15 points. Most genre characters are not that tall, and in so doing we maintain the balance since growth now costs more than DI or Shrinking. Hawksmoor

    Superman

Re: Superman Hmmm. I missed that one. Restrainable... I think I like it. Repped. Hawksmoor

    Superman

Re: Superman But then I get clunky constructs like the 1500+ point Magistrate Lornor Hess of Daxam. All the powers of Superman, some baseline powers actually stronger, but can't access them because of a Physical Limitation? Nah! I'll go with OIHID. Hawksmoor
