  1. GL Code Green Lanterns are supposed to enforce order within their sectors. However, the Guardians allow each Lantern to decide what order is within certain limits. The main limit is that they are not allowed to kill. They are also not supposed to gather power over others. That was Sinestro's problem. He decided to set himself up as ruler of his sector. One of the other major factors to be a GL is that you have to be fearless. This is usually shown not as going on inspite of fear, but not knowing the meaning of the word. Thus, Hal Jordan was a test pilot. One of the cocky breed that can always keep his cool even if the plane is exploding around him.
  2. After all, Kirk tossed an overloaded one in a disposal chute, and it didn't even blow out the wall. That's definately not a killing attack.
  3. gewing, Thats 2 adopted and 1 natural child. All arrived within 2 months of each other. Oh, yeah, and the wife. And he broke his arm last year. With all that against him, the third Bahzell book arrives in April. It's titled Windrinder's Oath.
  4. Not that one. It was a made for TV movie in the late 70's. They creator of the armor was a parapalegic that created a PA suit. I don't remember the name of the movie either.
  5. Al, March to the Stars has been out for 6 months plus unless you're waiting for the paperback. Archon
  6. During the days when Doc was being written, many people believed that an evil person had a mental/chemical imbalance. Dent took this and had Doc invent a process that cured this problem and erased the memories of the person operated on. This person was then taught to hate such evil acts, what sort of person he was before the surgery, and a useful trade to take back to the world. He used a death of personality instead of lobotomization.
  7. Smax is being released within the next 2 months. I've been keeping an eye out for it.
  8. Weber and Ringo have a collaborative series called the March. It starts with March Upcountry, March to the Sea, and March to the Stars. 4 more books to go. I personally enjoyed them. Weber's single creation "Path of the Fury" is also a good one. This one is mentioned in the old Ultimate Mentalist bibliography. If you want to try "Mutineer's Moon," which is the first book of the Heirs of the Imperium, you can get the book for free as an ebook at baen.com in the Free Library.
  9. Re: Re: Re: Re: Just a theory Batman also killed guys fairly often in those days. Not usually directly, but they died via accidents. Their traps got them instead, or they were thrown through a window during the fighting. The code vs killing that we know so well was a consequence of the comics code that lasted mostly up until the early '90s. Ever since Image came on the scene (my pet peeve), it's been OK to kill 500+ bad guys a comic as long as they get in the angst and counterculture references.
  10. Scary Mystic In my present campaign, nothing scared the other PC's more than when my mystic started doing things. They were constantly giving me strange looks.
  11. Power Level I'm not sure that 300 pts is enought to build a Legion game on. Will the rings and transuits be given by the GM or paid for? If a character wants FTL on their own is 300 enough? What point caps are you using? I assume the base and some vehicles will be GM given. All in all, these can be very expensive characters. Some one had an idea for multiple characters at varying power levels. That might be the way to go. I just wanted to ask a few questions about the way you're setting up the game.
  12. (inches per phase) * (speed) * 0.375 = mph
  13. I'm around Fauxgemini. What can I do for you?
  14. The Legion's been through so many changes in the last few years that its hard to sum up. Find the miniseries collections: Legion Lost, Legion Worlds, and some of the new Legion series issues. That'll cover the most recent stories and galaxy.
  15. Re: Legion of Superheros. If you're going to do true LOSH, remember that most of them are teenagers. They're not as angst ridden as mutants, but they still have teen problems.
  16. As long as you don't buy 0 end, you can mix 1/2 end and costs end limitations.
  17. IMHO, that was just the special effect of either a force field or force wall. Nothing special to it.
  18. I don't know. Have you checked out Latveria's defenses lately?

Cyclops The early Cyclops had to manually manipulate his visor is order to fire and control the beam's intensity. They used this method in the movies. Later in the comics he added a controller in his glove because he kept getting entangled or grabbed. The movie version of the visor is also OAF. It was too easy for Toad to get off him otherwise. You get to decide which version you want to use.

Re: Re: New Mutants I don't recommend Warlock because I think he's on too many points. Cybernetic control, transformation powers, shapeshifting. If you do the game on 200 or 250, he would cost too much. Cypher's problem was the same thing that go him killed. Yes, he had an inferiority complex. His power was completely non-combat. He had no business going out on many of the NM's hijinx(sp). Unilike, Dani, who was the best conditioned physically of the NM, Doug wasn't in good condition. For non-combat situations he was perfect. He could program which in today's world he would be a multi-millionare. But he'd still have to stay home during combat.

New Mutants The New Mutants make an easy add for beginning mutants. Cannonball Mirage/Moonstone Wolfsbane Sunspot Karma Magik Magma Warlock (not recommended) Cypher (really not recommended) You might also look in members of the Hellions to be added. I don't remember too many of them. Thunderbird Tarot Empath Those are the ones I recall. You might look into Generation X kids, but I never read that comic.
  22. Don't take this the wrong way, but you CANNOT have mine. Nope, no how, no way, uh-uh. I love the pulps too much to let anyone get near mine.
  23. Sorry mis-post. Please ignore.
  24. As long as you are on the same segment in which the attack took place, no, you cannot abort to a new action. As soon as you move to the next segment, the PC's next action becomes available as an abort action.
  25. I forgot about Superheroes. Actually, I think that the Alliance of Superheroes story in there is based on an old Champions campaign. My personal favorite inspiration for Superman was Doc Savage. The Man of Bronze and the Man of Steel who both have a Fortress of Solitude.
