  1. Re: Site with lots of fantasy battlemaps Very awesome.
  2. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "Your Hand in Mine" Explosions in the Sky
  3. Re: Urban Fantasy dead horses. For years anytime I'd play a game where I controlled a whole party and had to name them, one guy would be Garrett Jax. Though I can't remember which Shannara book he came from.
  4. So after seeing Kung Fu Panda, I really want to do a short campaign of martial artist animals. Any ideas?
  5. Re: Music to Kill Zombies By 1) Plasma Cannon 2) "East Hastings" Godspeed You! Black Emporer 3) Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell
  6. Re: What source material informs your fantasy gaming? Qfmft
  7. Re: What source material informs your fantasy gaming? All sorts of stuff. A good bit of humorous or light fare, Piers Anthony, Terry Pratchett kind of funny stuff. Lots of fairy tales. A good bit of Jim Butcher influence as well. And a lot of stuff cribbed from Dragonlance and Eberron. Mostly a lot of light stuff that pokes fun at fantasy tropes while embracing the ones I enjoy. And nothing too dark to depressing. I get enough of that in real life.
  8. Re: Steve Reviews INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL I absolutely loved it. Got exactly what I wanted/expected out of it and enjoyed every minute.
  9. Re: What Non-Fiction Book have you just finished? I really need to get that book.
  10. Re: What is Your Inner Character? Lawful good gnome cleric. Sounds close enough.
  11. Re: What would the character sheet for typical MMA competitor look like? The best fights are Fedor killing guys twice his size. That guy is a monster. But yeah, the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions are the best, especially in the UFC with its virtually non-existant heavyweight division.
  12. Re: Deep Medieval RPGing Burning Wheel perhaps with the magic stripped out?
  13. Re: Has anybody played "Spirit of the Century" Yeah, I can see how it isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm just an oddball though, I love crunchy systems as much as I love rules lite indie press style RPGs. I can sit down with HERO, Burning Wheel, FATE, True20, or Warhammer Fantasy and have just as much fun with each as with any other.
  14. Re: Yog-sothoth.com Yeah, it is completely understandable. And I've enjoyed listening to the shows I've gotten a chance to hit up.
  15. Re: Yog-sothoth.com Oh, I understand how hard it is to get good recordings. A lot of the Rolemonkeys episodes have the same problem. And I'm pretty sure I've heard HERO actual play recordings before as well. Just can't remember where.
  16. Re: Yog-sothoth.com I like their actual play podcasts, I just hate the sound quality.
  17. Re: Has anybody played "Spirit of the Century" Spirit of the Century and the FATE engine it is built on is probably my current favorite RPG system.
  18. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... Just finished up the Blood Bowl Omnibus based on the fantasy themed football game. It was awesome.
  19. Re: Soul Calibur Talim is the win. Talk about fast.
  20. Re: New Pulp Hero Game on Hero Central Sounds interesting. I'll have to see what I can come up with.
  21. Re: Help me flesh out a kernal of a setting idea Word. I had an idea similar to this for my NaNoWrMo story this year that never got off the ground. Mine was a little more quirky with steampunk spaceships and clockwork robot men but some things could be relevant. My idea was influenced heavily by both the Jak and Daxter series and the Ratchet and Klank one. The main race was a elven like race, similar to Jak and there were animal races like Ratchet and Daxter. But anyway. All these different races. They lived on the moons of Jupiter, where long long ago Earth colonies had been set up, but for some reason the Earth empire had collapsed and a dark age occurred on the moons. Eventually they had each built their technology back up and began to find each other in the void of space.
  22. Re: A Question About Jobs and Income I don't have the book with me right now but Spirit of the Century has a ton of great information about the cost of living in the pulp era. When I get back home from my parents' place for the holidays I'll give it a look.
  23. Re: HERO: Combat Evolved [Equipment Posts & Comments] I don't know about grenades, but if you time it right you can deflect missiles which is always fun. You can also use it to send a Mongoose flying hard enough to kill a Spartan it lands on.
  24. Re: HERO: Combat Evolved [Equipment Posts & Comments] I think that has more to do with them being more elite Brutes. Like the Brutes with the funny hates wielding the plasma cannons.
