  1. How long do I have to think about it? Lucius Alexander the palindromedary gazes into the distance and says "There is another....."
  2. If it doesn't vary based on the campaign/power level, it SHOULD. Lucius Alexander Taglines vary based on palindromedaries
  3. Would Frankenstein's Creature count as an alien? Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says we can cancel No-Man for now
  4. I agree that the set-up should have included stand-in picks for the robots. As is, I am choosing a robot for my "token non-human" No-Man https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T.H.U.N.D.E.R._Agents Lucius Alexander You were expecting a palindromedary?
  5. BlackHawk is the farmer. I thought I made it obvious. Lucius Alexander As the hump on a palindromedary
  6. "Call me Blackhawk. I had another name but I buried that name with my family on the farm that the Empire destroyed. I had been a pilot and a brawler; now I fly with reckless courage and fight as one possessed. The Empire thinks they can break men by destroying everyone and everything a man cares for; all they did in my case was forge a weapon aimed at themselves." Blackhawk was a Polish aviator from the Golden Age of comics. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary asks how many more picks we have?
  7. In Hero System you can build almost anything..... IF you have the points. Looks like you've latched onto a concept that will call for lots and lots of points spent. Lucius Alexander House of the Palindromedary
  8. In the case of the scenario described above, one of two things should happen: EITHER, 1) the Limitation on the Helm should be Inobvious, not Obvious, Focus, OR, 2) Dave is NOT aware Allen is attacking Bob, but IS in fact aware that the Helm is doing SOMETHING strange. You are correct that the Obvious Focus Limitation does not grant other characters extraordinary senses. Then again, it doesn't need to. First point: Inobvious Powers generated by Obvious Foci remain inobvious - TRUE Second point: A character cannot determine that a power they cannot see was generated by a Focus - FALSE. You probably can't find that statement, I won't deny it. But you CAN find a statement that an Obvious Focus is obvious. Lucius Alexander I doubt you'll find a palindromedary in any of the Hero books, but you'll find them in my taglines.
  9. For my criminal, the notorious pirate, Captain Nemo! And of course that means the ship is the Nautilus. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says the Atlanteans have upgraded and outfitted Nautilus for space travel
  10. "Why is one of my captains weeping in what should be an hour of triumph?" asked the black clad one. The captain in question blinked away tears and snapped to attention to say "Sir, I....I have been to Nibiru. I....Sir, I know some of the people who just died." "Then some response is understandable" said the man in black in a soothing voice, "still, it seems odd for an officer if your known loyalty and discipline to lose military bearing so far as to shed tears before superior officers. Come, let me escort you to the infirmary and we will have your health checked." The captain's eyes went wide as she protested "No sir, I am sure that I am alright...." "Trust me" said the black clad one, "there are many ailments and imbalances of the blood that can strike those who venture into space. Trust me and come to the infirmary for some blood tests, just to be sure all is in harmony." His eyes blazed as he said for a third time "Trust me.' "I....trust you" said the captain, and in a seeming daze allowed herself to be led like a child towards the infirmary. As soon as they had left, one colonel no longer hid his disgust and said to the general "Isn't it disgraceful for a commander to seduce one of his subordinate officers into a romantic liaison - and right in front of us all!" "Careful what you say" said the general, "I am as disturbed as you, in fact, if you are thinking in terms of romance, you do not appreciate the full horror of the situation. There is a reason he wants to be sure her blood is healthy." The colonel blinked. "Surely he merely wants to protect himself from any possible venereal ailment.....?" The general took the colonel be the arm and drew him into an adjacent conference room and shut the door. "The reason he cares about her blood is that he means to drink it!" The colonel looked startled. "I have heard him called bloodthirsty but that is a common metaphor...." "Speak to me of metaphors when I am writing that captain's family her death letter" said the general grimly. "You NEVER heard this from me, but you should know what half the command knows already - Count Dracula is a vampire!" Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says vampires suck
  11. The Oak Ridge Boys should be taken out and shot for inflicting "Elvira" on the world. Lucius Alexander it's enough to give a palindromedary indigestion
  12. If all superheroes are ""Superman knockoffs" then Superman and all heroes in fiction are "Gilgamesh knockoffs." Lucius Alexander And a palindromedary knock off
  13. During those three months does he starve to death? Lucius Alexander The palindromedary supposes there is probably Desolidified food available in that dimension
  14. My internet is temporarily down. I expect to rejoin you on Monday. My internet has unexpectedly recovered. I won't have to pay for a repairman, apparently. Lucius Alexander my place The palindromedary says I'm online at a friend's place right now.

  16. "That Force that binds all living things together, Suffuses even the space between the stars, Resounds now to a feeling of such terror! As though a million screams the heavens smote And every scream tore through my helpless throat!" My Old Coot: Prospero the wizard from Shakespeare's The Tempest. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says picking Prospero is just an excuse to indulge in blank verse.
  17. The black clad figure knelt before the scarlet image holographically projected into the command chamber. "Your servant reports, my Lord. All reliable imperial personnel have been evacuated from the target world. Planetary authorities are aware of our presence and hailing us on all frequencies and we maintain silence. They are mustering defenses but nothing they can deploy can possibly counter our ultimate weapon. The Destructor is fully charged and ready to fire; we await Your Command." The scarlet image smiles unpleasantly and responds "No, my friend. You are in command of the Battle Station; the honor of giving the command to fire is yours." "As You wish, my Lord," says the black clad figure, rising and turning to face the assembled officers. The smirking red image flickers out, but he knows the Emperor will be watching. "Status?" "Fully armed and operational, Sir!" The general responds promptly. "Target on screen." The black clad one wishes to see the destruction he is about to inflict. A planet appears on the viewscreen, pale green and dark blue and marbled with white clouds. A living world, home to hundreds of millions of beings. Their lives meant nothing to the black clad one. "Fire." A hot white beam leaped from the station to the world, cutting almost instantly through the crust, pouring destructive energy into that unfortunate planet at a significant fraction of the power of a nova. In the space of four seconds the beam shut down, and there was nothing left of a once living world but rocky fragments. Some of the assembled officers looked pale and sick, others looked quietly satisfied; no one cheered. The black clad one spoke first. "Planet Nibiru is no more." Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says we were tempted to take out Earth, but decided against it...leave that to Xavier Onassis.
  18. All my budgets are getting cut Lucius Alexander I'm down to one palindromedary per tagline.
  19. This might seem bardic, but you can change some of he Limitations: Hard Rock Song: (Total: 54 Active Cost, 14 Real Cost) Change Environment (-13m of Tunneling, Long-Lasting 1 Day), Costs Endurance Only To Activate (+1/4), Area Of Effect (16m Radius; +3/4) (54 Active Points); OAF (Guitar; -1), No Range (-1/2), Gestures (Requires both hands; -1/2), Incantations (-1/4), Concentration (1/2 DCV; -1/4), Extra Time (Full Phase, Only to Activate, -1/4) (Real Cost: 14) A full phase to sing it, effects last all day. You may need to make it more powerful if the worm has more tunneling, but this will definitely slow it down. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary doesn't think the worm will like that a hole lot.
  20. If I find an elderly agronomist, can they be both the Farmer and the Old Coot? Lucius Alexander If I find another palindromedary I'll make another tagline.

  24. No, any more then you would call a Martian a Terrestrial even though Mars is a terrestrial planet. The name of the Jovian class of planets derives from the name of Jupiter. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary proposes calling people from Saturn "Ringlings"
