  1. Could be worse. Could be Killer Killer, the Mistake of Faith. Lucius Alexander Master of the Palindromedary (among other things)
  2. Yes. Weapon Practice Montage: Cramming (5 Active Points); Limited Power Only for Weapon Familiarities (-1) Real Cost: 2 At home anywhere: Cramming (5 Active Points); Limited Power Only for Languages or for Cultural, Area, or City Knowledges (-1) Real Cost: 2 Hunter's snares: Security Systems 10- (2 Active Points); Limited Power Only to set, recognize, or disarm, snares, pits, and similar hunter's traps (-1) Real Cost: 1 Not my first rodeo: Breakfall 10- (2 Active Points); Limited Power Only if thrown from / falling off of, a mount (Prerequisite: Riding; -1) Real Cost: 1 Sometimes more than one on the same character "People WANT to believe everything they see fits into the world that's real to them.": Disguise ("Seriously, if the thought crosses someone's mind 'that woman is a monster' then they see me acting all normal, they just dismiss that foolishness from their minds. In other words, people are idiots.") 13-, Persistent (+1/4) (6 Active Points); Limited Power Self only (-1), Limited Power Not vs Monsters, Hunters, or people who know that Monsters Exist. (-1), Side Effects, Side Effect occurs automatically whenever Power is used (Cannot use full STR; -1/2), Limited Power Only to pass for Human (-1/2) Real Cost: 1 "Yeah, right. What are ya sayin', I'm from outerspace?": Persuasion (Can convince people what she's saying (or sarcastically implying) is true, but is so abrasive about it that they are alienated and repelled.) 12- (3 Active Points); Side Effects, Side Effect occurs automatically whenever Power is used (Sarcasm; -1/2) Real Cost: 2 "How'd I get them to tell me? It's called social engineering. Also, people are idiots.": Conversation 12- (3 Active Points); Conditional Power Only online; not face to face (-1 1/2) Real Cost: 1 BUT - I still don't think I like the idea of putting modifiers on a Martial Maneuver. Especially as it's possible to design powers that do what maneuvers do. And in any case the price will not be based on the normal cost of the Maneuver; I just checked Hero Designer and while it lets me put Trigger on Block, the cost jumps to 24. Lucius Alexander Riding Skill with Limitation: only for palindromedaries
  3. That is extremely well reasoned. Lucius Alexander Now if I could just get a palindromedary to perfectly negate my weakness
  4. In my opinion, the Normal Characteristics Maximum Disadvantage cannot be invalidated, because it is not and never was valid to begin with. It was and is a bad idea. It will cause problems and headaches and the way to avoid those problems is to eliminate Normal Characteristic Maximum. There are better ways to represent human frailty and age, such as putting Double END Cost on STR and Movement, Physical Limitation: Old, a Limitation on REC of Requires a CON Roll, etc. Lucius Alexander And an inefficiently built palindromedary with abnormal psychological problems
  5. It has? Is that in Champions Complete? Lucius Alexander Experienced palindromedary rider
  6. Truth Mask. Or True Mask. Persona. The ancient Latin word for mask, persona, literally means "sound through" because the actor's voice sounded through the mask - and these masks allow the Wearer's True Voice to sound. True Face Playing on the old expression "false face" for a mask. Manifestation Mask Strange Mask, or Stranger Mask If you have heard Billy Joel's song "The Stranger" you will know why Mummer Mask Kachina Mask If you haven't already, you might benefit from reading up on the Kachina. Lucius Alexander A palindromedary can wear two masks
  7. Mice with functioning Human genes have been patented https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humanized_mouse And apparently, the Patent Office is "in an awkward position of being the federal arbiter of what is human." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A19781-2005Feb12.html Lucius Alexander The palindromedary has a Y? chromosome and a Y-not? chromosome
  8. It's part of the Secret Identity Complication. Secret Identity implies ways that someone could try to figure out the secret, and tracing the physical phone line to where it disappears into the ground on or near Wayne Manor is a clue. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary reaches the answering machine: "You have reached the Batcave. The Batman is not in the cave right now. If this is an emergency, please activate the Bat Signal. If you are a supervillain trying to uncover the Batman's secret identity, please leave a name, number, and a good time to capture you. If you are a supervillain hoping to taunt the Batman by boasting of your next dastardly crime, please leave an enigmatic rant including ambiguous clues that will permit the Batman to heroically foil your plans...."
  9. Yeah, but I think you're mixing three.... Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says East of Eden was written by Steinbeck, not Burroughs.
  10. No, it reflects that characters like Batman have always existed in comic books. Lucius Alexander And a highly skilled palindromedary
  11. Human cultures frequently make no sense. In fact, I might almost argue that it is more common for Human cultures to NOT make sense than for them to make any sense. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary certainly takes the latter position.
  12. Does that apply if it's a Transform Power that has the "special effect" that it Transforms a person by "killing" them and then "raising" then as undead? Mechanically, what's happening is a Transform. Then we can either dispense with that or link a Killing Attack that's limited to doing as much BOD as the Transform. Or use the Partial Transform Advantage to inflict wounds. (Cosmetic Transform: Looks wounded, maybe loses token amount of STUN; Minor Transform, take up to half total BOD in wounds; Major Transform, take enough wounds to be at Zero BOD; Severe Transform, the Transform is complete and the target is an incipient undead.) Lucius Alexander The palindromedary favors that last choice, but perhaps simplified to "Take the Transform points as BOD damage."
  13. As I said, it "looks" like a Killing Attack, and does do BODy. "Killing" the target means finally doing enough Transform effect to turn them into an undead. It's not a gradual Damage over Time Transformation- although in the case of a vampire it may have a Limitation that the new vampire is lying dormant for three nights. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says a manipulative and untruthful vampire exerting influence over a few low level paladins could be lying dominant over three knights
  14. It's not "I'm an Undead and I have this Killing Attack PLUS a Transform that works on someone I killed" - NO, it's "I'm an Undead and I have this TRANSFORM that LOOKS just like a Killing Attack and has the Limitation of Attack Vs Alternate Defense (Resistant Physical Defense not Power Defense) and the Advantage of Does BODy and heals back whenever regular BODy damage does until the Transform is complete, and at that point only heals back by (insert how it works in your world here.)" Lucius Alexander The palindromedary wants to play a vampire bard with lesser vampire bard minions as back up musicians who are all unappreciative of their fans. They would be the Ungrateful Undead.
  15. Summary: "Heroic characters in a fantastic bronze age world go on an epic quest to hold their entire society - up to and including Gods - accountable for facilitating the crime of rape." http://adept-press.com/ideas-and-discourse/other-essays/goddess-of-rape/ Lucius Alexander Sometimes I wish I were a palindromedary
  16. If I'd known this before the last superdraft.... Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says I'd have done the same thing, but enjoyed it more
  17. How big do they have to be before you can throw yourself at the ground - and miss? Lucius Alexander The palindromedary asks if you can throw yourself at the ground - and mister?
  18. If there were something that Martial Arts and ONLY Martial Arts could do, I might consider the idea of putting a maneuver in a framework. Otherwise, I don't think it's justified - you can get the same effect at a more appropriate cost. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says wow, Lucius Alexander is taking the anti munchkin position for once....
  19. I am not going to do the search on it right now, but Steve Long is on record as answering the question "what if a necromancer summons some skeletons with Automaton powers and provides them money-bought suits of armor?" as saying the money-bought real equipment works at full value. Lucius Alexander Palindromedary Powers
  20. What can you do with Martial Arts that you can't already do with Characteristics and Powers? Lucius Alexander I can do a lot with Characteristics and Powers and Palindromedaries
  21. Air Conditioning: (Total: 31 Active Cost, 7 Real Cost) Change Environment (-3 Temperature Level Adjustment, Alterable Size), Reduced Endurance (1/2 END; +1/4), Persistent (+1/4), Area Of Effect (32 2m Areas Explosion; +3/4) (31 Active Points); OAF Bulky (-1 1/2), Extra Time (20 Minutes, Only to Activate, -1 1/4), No Range (-1/2) (Real Cost: 7) Lucius Alexander The palindromedary asks, shouldn't that be a Life Support bought for a Base?
  22. TOL_ER_RATE TOL_ER_RATE TOL_ER_RATE Said the politically correct Dalek Lucius Alexander House of the Palindromedary
  23. I did not find a Wyvern in Monster Hunter International, but the one in the Bestiary should be totally compatible. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary in this tagline is not compatible
  24. So that's why she likes to pull pranks like cutting someone's hair..... she likes to bug people. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says if you're a fan of Ant-Man and Spider-Man, then you like two bug people.
  25. Have Shrinker retaliate by dousing the offender with a chemical that causes hair to fall out entirely. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary says this comic book issue should be titled "Shrinker Unlocked"
