So, got my results today.  Everything was negative.

They gave me some antibiotics for the bronchitis and that's the end of it.

Hopefully that'll be the end of it.

They get really tetchy when you move their carts, too.  I remember one woman whose cart was almost completely blocking the aisle.  I shifted it a little sideways and said, "There, now it's blocking the *entire* aisle. That was what you were aiming for, wasn't it?"   She didn't seem to appreciate my help.

And I want to go back to the office without risk of getting a life threatening illness; I want my daughter to grow up in a world that doesn’t involve fascism. I want a leader who isn’t bull horning for racism, and who at least at the basic level, can get through 5 sentences without lying.

    I want a pony.

The options are what they are. I get it. But. This is the system. These are the current rules. We have to play by those rules and we have to play to win. The only way to achieve that, currently, again, from a non-Trump point of view, is to vote Biden/Harris or, preferably a straight blue ticket. Again. Hope I did that without triggering anyone.

If you want to change the system, then elect people who will fight for ranked voting, so we can get away from the first past the post/wasted vote mechanic (no offense meant to the intent of your vote, as much as the way votes are tallied). So in a ranked system, you could put Libertarian first, then Democrat, and when the LIbertarian is mathematically eliminated, your vote moves to the next viable candidate. However, that won’t happen in a Trump/GOP administration. Shoot, it might not happen in a Biden/Harris administration, but Maine did it. Which means your State can do it and enough States do it, then Federal law will change.

Separate thought, but I thought a valid point, considering.

No.  It is only that way if you choose for it to be.  The people are there and the will is there to reclaim our country.  Over a month ago I put in for time off from work after election day, so that I can go to Washington to participate in evicting the current of occupant from the White House if it comes to that.  You can bet your bottom dollar that if it comes to that, I will not be alone.

https://matsne.gov.ge/en/document/download/16978/7/en/pdf#:~:text=No medical care shall be,in the legislation of Georgia.

LAW OF GEORGIA ON PATIENT RIGHTS

    Chapter IV - Consent

    Article 22

    1. In order to provide medical care to a patient, it shall be required to obtain the informed consent from the patient or from a relative or a legal representative of the patient if the patient is a minor or unable to make a conscious decision. Informed consent shall precede the medical care.

    2. A written informed consent shall be necessary for the following medical services:

    a) any surgical operation, except for small surgical procedures
    b) abortion
    c) surgical contraception – sterilisation
    d) catheterisation of great vessels
    e) haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
    f) extracorporeal fertilisation
    g) genetic testing
    h) gene therapy
    i) radiation therapy
    j) chemotherapy of malignant tumours
    k) in all other cases when medical care providers consider that written informed consent is necessary.

    3. It shall be necessary to obtain the written informed consent when providing medical care to a patient who is a minor or unable to make a conscious decision. Law of Georgia No 3379 of 20 March 201

    Article 23

    1. Patients who are incapacitated or unable to make conscious decisions may refuse medical care at any stage, and also terminate medical care that is in process. Patients shall be fully informed about the expected consequences if they refuse to receive or they terminate medical care.

    2. No medical care shall be carried out against the will of a patient who is competent and able to make conscious decisions, except for cases defined in the legislation of Georgia.

So basically unless the provider can point to a specific law passed by the Georgia state legislature saying that "doctors can perform forced sterilizations without the consent of the woman", the doctor and that facility have been breaking Georgia state law by not getting consent from the patient in writing.

Personally, I consider Wakanda to be a more important character than T'Challa.  A king on a continent that has long since started moving towards democracies, magic herbs and animal totems.  I have no idea how Africans view these things, but on this side of the pond it seems rather backwards looking.  However, an African nation free of the trappings of colonialism, proud, strong and with technology that doesn't equal western nations but surpasses them, well that is something.  That is a powerful idea today, and back in the 60s when Lee and Kirby invented Wakanda it must have seemed mind blowing.

So, when blacks across the globe say "Wakanda Forever", I take it at face value. Wakanda forever, not Black Panther forever.

I've been thinking kinda of the opposite about the destruction of the "heart shaped herb".  Its absence allows other people to take on the mantle without a super awkward trip to the ancestral plane, where they get there and T'Challa is nowhere to be seen.

Shuri would be reliant on her skills and her technology as she took up the role of Protector of Wakanda, but in her case that would be sufficient.  Admittedly, without the ancestral plane connection people would likely consider her claim to be the Black Panther weaker than those who came before, but that could be a plot point.

I don't know.  From a story stand point, it is pretty straight forward.  Shuri is next in line to be the Black Panther and has worn that mantle in the comic books.  Moreover, I think that Letitia Wright has it in her to carry a big budget film.  However, without Chadwick Boseman there to do the handover and the shadow of his too young death hanging over picture, I don't see people emotionally accepting the film.

In order to make it work, they would need to the film about loss, pain, grief and ultimately rebuilding from there.  Are people willing to go to a super hero film where they won't just be expected to just get a little misty-eyed, but instead will be called upon to actually cry and cry a lot?

A car is driving toward a cliff. The driver is yelling, "Full speed ahead". The passenger, who really wants to be the driver, is yelling, "Stop!" while he's thinking the car really needs a new carburetor, power steering, and should be painted green whenever he gets the chance.
